  1. If you get rust in your bore your not shooting enough I wish I was able to shoot more but my work schedule ... I only get to shoot USPSA twice month... But I do punch paper @ an indoor range near me at least once a week...
  2. so you dont clean your barrel even running a bore snake thru it ??? No oil to keep it from rusting or anything ??? What about a patch ??? I shooting Montana Golds only ... Most likely wont shoot lead but if money gets tight then it I would be shooting some bayou bullets...
  3. I heard you cant clean your Scheumann AET Barrel with a copper brush ??? All my shooting buddies say they run nothing but bore snake thru it and nothing else no oil or anything ... Whats your guys cleaning regiment??? I'm asking cuz I'm a cleaning whore... I like cleaning my guns after every range, spend 1 to 2 hrs on each and detail clean them once every 2 months even though they've been in the safe the whole time...
  4. I would go 40sw if your semi serious about competing ... I shoot L10 with my HK USP 45 for straight enjoyment and trigger time with my HD pistol...
  5. I am also interested ... but I heard rumors that the trigger inserts for the SVI starts to wobble after some use. Is this true ???
  6. Great Read www.grantcunningham.com/lubricants101.htm I use Lubri-Plate FMO-35-AW oil and have notice a signification smoother operation in slide movement vs your regular CLP stuff... for grease ... I use Lubri-Plate SFL-0 grease
  7. mine right now is ... 180gr Montana Gold 4.8gr WST 1.185 OAL 172pf @ 90degrees
  8. Can you guys give me a good starting point for 45acp Berry plated SWC w/ WST powder and Winchester primers ??? I want to make a soft shooting 45round for Production or Limited 10...
  9. I run them thru after they're cleaned and before they hit my square deal... I run mine through a case check gauge after loading process on my square deal and my 550 press, the ones that dont fit are run through my bulge buster and gutted Lee FCD, sometimes I dont get any that dont fit other times I guess depending on range brass I might get 10% that have to be run through bulge buster. I guess most of the time the bulge is removed by the sizing die. The Lee rep. said bulge buster was perfectly safe to use on loaded ammo. Oohh ok I have to get the terminalogy correct. I case check(chamber check) all my rounds after I run them thru the square deal. So I run them thru the bulge buster after cleaning; then on the dillon square deal and then chamber check them with my egw case checker...
  10. I run them thru after they're cleaned and before they hit my square deal...
  11. I just recently purchased a second hand Lee Bulge buster to fix the Glock 40sw brass... I hated Glocks after 1200rds thru the bulge buster but then my buddy told me to use lanoline as case lube. And that made it really really easy for the next 2000rds... But, after I started reloading the fixed brass; I had to adjust the oal again because it was easier to run thru my dillon square deal... Lee Bulge Buster and case lube makes it super easy to run bulged out glock 40sw brass...
  12. I chrono'ed today... Both 4.8gr and 5.1gr had a OAL of 1.185... The 4.8gr had a hi of 985 and a lo of 957 scored a 172pf While the 5.1gr had a hi of 1025 and a lo of 1003 scored a 183pf ... So going to load 4.6gr and 4.4gr and chrono it next weekend...
  13. Yup those look like them... Man I wish I could get my hands on one
  14. Dugout and CocoBolo and everyone else... Thank you the info I'm really enjoying loading its a very good stress reliever for me and its really gratifying to do my own loads and they feel really good shooting ... Thank you again
  15. nope square deal ... I'm having a peta of a time to get the right over all length ... I had it set @ 1.185 with no primer and powder in the case. And when I started loading the loads came out 1.200 and 1.196 ... How do I adjust the 3rd stage where in presses the bullet in ...
  16. Having issues... I wanted to follow your reciept dugout but I can't get "over all lenght" ... I set the dye @ 1.185... set the dye @ 1.185 wih the round empty no new primer or powder. But I loaded it with powder and new primer over all lenght was 1.2 Making sure your taking about 1.185 because factory Federal HST's are 1.125 ...
  17. such a tease... how is this barrel compared to a scheumann aet barrel???
  18. Does it load after you fire the round in the chamber ??? I tried loading a 21rd mag in pistol with an empty chamber and racking the slide, it wouldn't load the round in the chamber... This Saturday before the match I'll try it loading one in the chamber and see if a 21rd mag will load one in the chamber after firing a round... just cause it holds 21 doesnt mean you should load it as such, especially a new mag. use 20 for now and when your springs break in a little you may(only maybe) be able to get that 21st round in there reliably. to answer your other question if you have too many round in a gun you have to really slam it home for it to seat otherwise you will have a mag fall out after the next round is fired, plus can damage your mag and or gun (mag lips, ejector its all been covered on this forum before) i start the stage with 20+1 and the rest are loaded to 18. i get my Rescomp tube today so I will see how it compares with capacity soon. That's great ... My untuned mags already loads 20+1 reliably... I'm asking the people with the same setup as me , with untuned mags that holds 20 reliably... Either way I'll find out tomorrow
  19. are they out there ??? This would seal the deal for me... I recently fell in love with the 1911 platform again... Be in the HK zone for a while but to my original favorite... So like I ask is there even a extended mags out there for this pistol ??? something that would give me an extra round in the mag ... I would buy one and run production again with this pistol...
  21. What does this means ??? Loads 21rds and reloads 20rds??? Seen these advertised but I never understood it... If it loads 21, we should be able to reload 21rds back in...I don't understand that ... How did you modify the followers to not lock back ??? I have the same setup but my slide lock even though I still have 1 round left in the mag...
  22. Unlike other pistols ... HK uses a polygonal barrel which last longer and is alittle bit more accurate. It doesnt like anything thats not plated or jacketed... I've shot moly coated bullets thru my USP and my P30LS it was fine but just be ready to really really clean the barrel after the match...
  23. at 450 grip that comes with trigger and stainless mag well i think its fair. magwell alone would cost 90.00 trigger base and insert bout 80.00 so all in all the grip would be about $260? not too far from painted grips dont you think? I think you got the price wrong its not $260 ... the basic SV grip starts @ $450
  24. I didnt want to post a new thread ... so does anyone know if this is do'able ( SV stainless steel grip on STI Frame) ??? I want the SV Infinity competition grip ... Will this affect mags ???
  25. did you change your grip on the pistol ??? Because theres are times your thumb might be hitting the slide lock...
