Wow!!! What a match. Thank you to Ken, Brian and everyone else that helped with this match. I had a great time and am already looking forward to next year. Some video of most of the stages. The only bad thing about the video is the challenges felt much harder at the time than they look on You Tube. I don't think you can capture how hard it is to hold a pistol still on a 50 yard plate with an elevated heart rate and panting like a dog! Also - Squad 23 was a great crew - everyone chipped in and helped, thanks to all of you!

I pull the rifle up into my shoulder snug, but not trying to force it. If you force the position, the tension can cause more problems. I also prefer my arm out as far as I can on the hand guard. To me the critical thing in off hand is learning to accept the wobble and work with it. If you panic when you see the cross hairs bouncing around, then it will usually just get worse. Everyone has some amount of wobble and the wobble can often change from day to day depending on you. The wobble can sometimes change from side to side, or up to down. Sometimes creating a controlled wobble can be helpful. This can be done in a side to side, up and down or a figure of eight. Practice breaking the shot just as the cross hairs are coming over the target. The spot where you break the shot will depend on the distance to the target, and how much wobble you have. Accept the wobble, work with it and the wobble can be your friend!

How do you deal with unstable supports?
SteveT-NV replied to Vlad's topic in Rifle & Shotgun - Technique
Ditto all the above comments, plus practice a lot of off hand shooting at Rifle steel at 100-150 yrds or more. Get comfortable with the wobble and learn when to break that shot! -
I made an Excel spreadsheet from the original pdf file. For those impatient ones like me you can sort it fairly easily to look at division scores. The excel file is the following link - Unofficial Results To check the results in your division - click the filter at the top of the Class Column and make sure only the Class you are interested is checked. Then scroll over to the last column (Total Match Points). Click the little sort icon and select "Sort Largest to Smallest" As everyone else has said - fantastic match, had a great time and looking forward to next year. Thank you to all the Staff, RO's and especially Denise and JJ. Steve PS - Denise if this is not ok, please let me know and I will take down the file.

Any one know the dimensions on the 3GN Barricade's used at the regional matches? I'd like to make something similar for our club.

Just a bit more info - the stage with the unloaded shotgun start was called a "Classifier" stage. It is not currently a classifier on the 3GN site. Maybe they will add it to the list of 3GN Classifiers at the end of the year??

Short range rifle practice/drils
SteveT-NV replied to D.Hayden's topic in Rifle & Shotgun - Technique
Buy Ben Stoeger's book "Skills and Drills" and set up those drills for rifle. Almost all the drills can be used for short range rifle with a little modification. Add a little distance, shorten the par time etc. -
Thank you to the 3GN team and staff for putting on a really fun match. Stages were fun, the RO's did a great job and other than the delay caused by the wind the match ran efficiently and on time. My wife took a bunch of photos of the match and can be seen at the following link Most of the photos are of Squad 4, but there are photos of other squads as well.

USPSA MultiGun Nationals
SteveT-NV replied to StealthyBlagga's topic in Multi-Gun, Rifle & Shotgun Match Announcements
Here is some video from the match, to give some idea of the stages. The long range stage is on the video at 2:27 to give you an idea of the targets used. Target distances were ~405, 336, 286 and 236 yds. FWIW targets were hit with 55 g VMax -

PractiScore website results being upgraded - input welcome
SteveT-NV replied to Ken N.'s topic in Match Scoring
Not sure if this is the right thread to post this, but no one has replied to the other thread here - http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=191204 I have also not received a reply after emailing tech support. It looks like there is a possible bug in the new site, I've checked several recent 3-Gun matches on the site and some of them are not showing the complete scores for each division. For example our latest match had all the scores correct under the combined scores, but nothing under Tac Optics or Heavy Metal Irons. The results looked fine on the iPad before I uploaded them to the site. A few examples where scores are not displaying correctly - https://practiscore.com/results/?uuid=2F8835A9-18C5-42DB-BEDE-A0ED0FB9B7C2 https://practiscore.com/results/?uuid=00CB87AF-1F1D-4DCE-9AF9-7B36A3049980 https://practiscore.com/results/?uuid=C1649707-8F12-4DBC-8503-68D77FE38F3E Is this a site issue, or something that is happening on uploading? Steve -
Same problem occurred with our most recent 3-Gun Match. Results look fine on iPad, Combined results look normal on Practiscore webpage, but nothing under TO or HMI. I've sent help request to tech support. I believe they are working on the issue.

Putting on ELS belt - what's the secret?
SteveT-NV replied to jonny4523's topic in Multi-gun Gear & Accessories
Mine was a PIA as well when I first got it. Once you've put it on a couple dozen times it goes on pretty smooth. You kinda get a feel of where the studs will go into the holes. -
Invictus Practical dual and quad load carriers
SteveT-NV replied to Rob01's topic in Multi-gun Gear & Accessories
I went with the 2.8 and have been very happy with it for quads. -
Yes, you can run any load system without modifications to the gun. The modifications just make things a bit easier. Welding/smoothing the lifter helps keep your thumb from getting trapped by it. Depending on your hand size/anatomy this may or may not be a problem for you. It seems I'm one of the lucky few and have not had any modifications done to the lifter and have not had a problem with getting my thumb damaged. Opening up the loading port makes the port larger and makes it a bit easier to get the shells in without hitting an edge.

Invictus Practical dual and quad load carriers
SteveT-NV replied to Rob01's topic in Multi-gun Gear & Accessories
The AP Customs carriers are very good products. Fit and finish are excellent. Their only downside is that the shell retention is lower than the other carriers. Usually not a problem, but a potential one. You may also want to read some of the above comments comparing IP and AP Customs as well as this review posted last year - http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=172835&hl=%22ap+customs%22+review -
Invictus Practical dual and quad load carriers
SteveT-NV replied to Rob01's topic in Multi-gun Gear & Accessories
I'd like to echo Austinwolv's and urigagold's comments. I ordered and just tried out the 2.8 carrier. IMO Invictus Practical has set the Gold Standard for this type of carrier. I've had the CA SSL carriers and Twins carrier that I didn't care for and sold quickly. I've been using the AP Customs L2-6 Carriers for the last year and liked them but the shell retention is a little weak. Invictus set a high standard. My order shipped the next day, and as Austin said the workmanship and hardware are excellent. The carriers can be mounted at just about any angle the user desires. Everything that I needed came with my order, all the screws, attachments and instructions were in the box. I plan to order a couple more 2.8's and possibly a 8D and 6D once I can convince the wife that these are awesome! -
Invictus Practical dual and quad load carriers
SteveT-NV replied to Rob01's topic in Multi-gun Gear & Accessories
I am also curious about these carries. Trying to decide between the 2.8eight and their standard quad carriers. The 2.8eights look like the shells are very close together. Does this seem the case when loading? IOW does the second "quad" get in the way of grabbing the first quad with the 2.8eights? -
