  1. The minor only games in USPSA is carryouts division and limited optics division, and those seem to be working pretty good The major divisions like limited and single stack however seem to be dying. Opens doing okay, but open is open, so there's that
  2. Maybe you're right, maybe they should allowed nine major and 38 super to make major in limited optics. I could be for that..
  3. Also, who's the 3 goobs saying to get rid of the division? In less than a year it's the what, fourth most popular division maybe third? And only growing. Why would you get rid of that other than be ing offended, which is pretty comical
  4. You know this does sound a little sour grape-ish LOL If somebody couldn't be bothered to vote in one of two poles, I'm not sure I care what they think now. Anybody that wants to strap a new division to a dying caliber, that has to be reloaded to be anywhere approaching affordable, and basically requires a custom gun should have their head examined. New divisions should look to the Future. Cheap available off-the-shelf ammo that doesn't have to be reloaded, relatively cheap highly available production guns and a semi-production guns, and you can even get you a full custom if you want but definitely not required. And all that with no changes to how the game is scored or played (I mean I get you have to aim harder so that could be changing the way the game is played a little bit, but we're not going to start ringing steel and it counts like if we went to rimfire. I'm just trying to cut off that stupid discussion before it even starts) And even putting the emphasis on accuracy, where it always should have been when pertaining to pistol shooting is a good thing. But I get it, voting is hard
  5. Wow, if only there could have been a vote done by the organization where the membership had a say in what this division was going to be and, the people actually shooting the guns helped to decide what the division would look like instead of something being handed down from above. And then maybe there would be a second vote just to reaffirm the first. Maybe if something like that happened all of these eight or so guys on Enos wouldn't have to worry about limited optics major all the time. Oh, wait.......
  6. I kinda wish co would change to idpa's version of CO. But, with 15 or more mag capacity Edit: maybe not, I thought idpa allowed comps in their version of CO
  7. We vote in our section coordinator, and usually end up with a slot or two a year. There's another club that's close to me that is not in the same section, I'm not even sure if they're in a section at all. I know there are some clubs that are not in a particular section, I don't know just how that happens but apparently it does. Our section coordinator is elected, it's crazy that y'alls can't be removed or replaced with an election
  8. Add over travel to your trigger maybe?
  9. My section, which is not very far from shreds, seems to have the same plan as his. The one issue with "sanctioning" USPSA through club dues and fees is that many of the people that run the clubs are interested in shooting bigger matches. So their classifiers and activity fees matter for Nationals slots. To the many of us that are just club shooters and part-time volunteers, being affiliated with anything doesn't really matter. But to the people that are more serious and want to shoot higher level matches it does. I don't have any correct answer, just my observations of why some clubs will continue to pay USPSA
  10. I think that whether or not clubs that choose to "sanction" completely reaffiliate will depend solely on their members. If you have a large group of members that are wanting classification and want to shoot majors, the clubs will probably reaffiliate fairly quickly. If you have a club where three or four guys shoot majors and they are already classified, they can simply pay their yearly fee and shoot the majors. The rest of the club will be able to put money back in their coffers In reality after shooting USPSA for many years, I have come to believe if you're not shooting majors, a USPSA membership or classification is pretty much worthless. But I do understand noobs wanting a classification
  11. Just remember, if you're going to shoot two divisions you need to do twice the work on every stage. And I'm talking about the actual work, not the shooting work....
  12. Yep on all of these, consistency is what people are looking for whether it is in USPSA or an outlaw match. And in both kinds of matches I have seen some things that really didn't jive with the rule set, but that's the way it got resolved. And who's running the match seems to be 100%, they deciding factor and how the match goes regardless of whether it is USPSA or something else. Over the years I found that my attitude/expectations tend to dictate how the match goes more than anything else assuming it's run somewhat okay. At outlaw or level 1 USPSA I'm fine with letting things go, and I tend to have a lot more fun. At level 2 USPSA, I have a lot of trouble letting things go if they're not specific to the rules, or I see a BS call so I tend to have less fun at those events.
  13. I understand this, and it used to be a hill I would die on and one of the reasons that I wouldn't do a lot of outlaw matches and kind of hated three gun for a while. But....... As time has gone on I've learned there's just a different flavor to your outlaw matches and you definitely have to find one that fits into what you prefer. With most of the outlaw matches, especially on a club level you have to just rely on everybody's doing the best they can and allow a little bit of inconsistency and roll with it. That might cost you the Cadillac one week, but the next week you might benefit from an oddball call. Realistically though if you go to a matches run by people who have run USPSA and such in the past, or have a pretty good reputation running matches, it'll probably be okay. And if you run into things that are really stupid you just have to move on to a different match if it bothers you a lot
  14. Showing up to a club match without know all the rules is really not a big deal. Sometimes having a different ruleset like in 3 gun can be a plus. Having a consistent ruleset can also obviously be a good thing. I know some people that only want to shoot USPSA, and I know other people who won't shoot USPSA because they feel the rules set is to constrictive. I shoot either
  15. I think lose of revenue in general is probably pushing the decision making process more than anything else. However, as was mentioned, letting PSCL gain a foothold could hurt revenue long term. So, getting this stuff fixed sooner rather than later should be a priority
  16. I used red for the plate screws and put a little bit under the plate as well, and used blue for the dot screws on a Springfield prodigy. I can't remember whatI did on my xDM but, both of them have stayed tight
  17. I got to handle one at the local gun store yesterday. Did not shoot it though. Trigger was pretty horrible and the slide the frame fit was extremely sloppy for a $1,100ish gun. The grip was really nice though
  18. Nice Running matches is definitely a lot of work. I ran a match for a few years but, unfortunately started the whole club right about when Newtown happened and then there was no ammo and interest waned. It even backed off at the more established clubs. We have a couple of clubs in our area that are still doing good though. I hope when all this stuff is over with in the next hopefully few months, USPSA is stronger and better run than it has ever been. And while that may not happen, maybe it'll be stronger and better run than it's been in a long time.
  19. I reckon they'll just shoot basically USPSA rules and just not send USPSA any money. Then if/when USPSA gets there stuff in order, they'll just go right back to hosting standard USPSA matches No reason to create a whole new shooting sport, USPSA is actually really good at that. There's some things with the bod that aren't real good, but the game itself is pretty much fine
  20. Maybe I wasn't clear with what I was getting at. In area 6 apparently a lot of matches decided to quit hosting USPSA matches and just went to hit Factor matches. They may fill up just fine, but USPSA wouldn't not getting a cut of that. People who want to shoot are still going to shoot, but what they might do is not renew their membership, and clubs might let their USPSA affiliation lapse, or just hold the bare minimum to keep the affiliation
  21. I think a lot of the disgruntled internet folks did start taking their bat and ball and going home, and the bod started taking notice real quick
  22. https://www.thearmorylife.com/ported-barrels/ According to this article, it depends
