  1. LOL....I load 3 or 4 thousand rounds at a time. I have no time to work up two different loads. Major or bust!!!
  2. Just wondering what mag pouches y'all are using. I am waitlisted for BITB and hoping I'll get in so I'm gonna go ahead and buy the gear now (I'm normally a limited guy, so I don't have a production setup). Thanks.
  3. I bought an AAC threaded barrel for 9mm to put a Surefire Ryder9 Ti on. Seems to be a good quality barrel. Dropped right in and shoots accurately. Only complaint is that the thread protector doesn't want to stay on, so I either have to loctite it or keep checking it every few rounds, which is a PITA.
  4. LOL...You'd think so, but nope, I'm shooting .40 at about a 172 PF! This gun is just that flat!
  5. I guess I'm glad I've delayed sending mine back. With the holidays and family in town I just never got to it. I hope this week is a good time.
  6. VA here as well. Where in the commonwealth?
  7. She's a beauty! Glad you're enjoying your purchase. I knew you wouldn't regret it!
  8. Mine's going back next week! Definitely needs some cleaning up.
  9. This kinda crap frustrates me to no end. If I were you, I'd demand a refund of my match fee. While there may have been no malicious intent, their lack of understanding of the rules wrongly cost you your match. I have seen MANY shooters holster and then draw a loaded gun under make ready to get the feel of the loaded gun fresh in their mind. In no way is that a DQ. As long as they don't violate any other rules, it's perfectly acceptable. If you're gonna DQ me, you damn well better be able to show me in the book the rule you're DQing me for breaking.
  10. on youtube, search "user kcobean" and there are a ton of vids of my matches. I've actually backed my powder down to 4.1 grains and I'm still about 172 PF, so my next batch of ammo will probably be at 4.0. 4.2 had me up around 175.
  11. One thing nobody has talked about here yet is grip balance. Remember that there are NO muscles in your fingers, only tendons. So manipulating the gun requires contraction of muscles in the palm and forearm. If you're gripping the gun so tightly with your strong hand that you cannot isolate the tendons of the index finger during trigger pull, then you need to back down on your strong hand grip just a bit so that your index finger can operate without a) affecting your other fingers (milking the cow) or b ) moving the gun. Let your weak hand pick up the slack. Depending on who you ask, It should be 70/30 or 60/40 weak/strong. This will also let you pull the trigger faster without trigger freeze because you're not binding the index finger tendons up in your grip. This is something I'm working on myself.
  12. I committed to not shooting anything other than Limited until I make GM there. I bought a nice gun that I won't outgrow along the way and will last me a lifetime, so I can stay focused on the shooting instead of the gear.
  13. As I was once told, "shoot all A's and it doesn't matter". That said, I shoot a .40 major gun that shoots like a 9mm, so I get the best of both worlds.
  14. Or for being left-handed. Redundant. You cut me deep bro.
  15. We had a young shooter suffer through a 30 round stage with no ear pro recently because he didn't know the rules and the RO didn't catch that his plugs weren't in. It was just a local club match and he shot so poorly because he was wincing with every shot that we allowed him to reshoot. Made sure he knew after that that safety (including the safety of his eyes and ears) comes first in USPSA, so he is entitled to stop and correct the safety issue and reshoot the stage.
  16. LOL. I'm a lefty and shoot Limited Major with a 2011. When I ULSC, I just put my hand over the ejection port, tilt the gun to the right and slowly (enough so that I don't have to worry about an OOB detination) pull the slide back until I feel the round drop in to my hand. Then I stand the gun back up to show the RO an empty chamber. I never drop a round.
  17. I have the good fortune of being able to shoot with Todd Jarret occasionally, and he's even competing in my division these days which is even better. I won't say I shoot better when I'm squadded with him, but I certainly do put on my learning hat and try to absorb how he does what he does. I just look at it as free instruction from one of the best shooters in the world.
  18. I'm a lefty...pretty much every walkthrough confuses all the righty shooters.
  19. If you want to speed up your times: A) use your spacebar, not your mouse. Mouse clicks are registered by your computer on release of the button vs. spacebar is registered on the push, so only half the movement is required. "prep" the spacebar and make it a point not to slap the bar by backing off your prep when the hand comes up and then slapping down. Just push straight down. I'm almost 44 and could get "We're not sure if you're an actual human being" (< 300ms) every time by just doing these two things.
  20. For what it's worth, here's a video of my Battlecat that I just took because of this thread. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yvzabvJVS8 Mine has probably a hair less play than Jedi's, but the gun runs 100% and it's as accurate as can be. I'm not posting here to get dog-piled by everyone who thinks that a $4k gun should have zero play, but my suspicion is that the guns that are so tight that the slide has to be lubed to get it on the frame are less reliable than this. There's a reason Limcat guns sell for what they sell for. If Johnny looks at it and needs to fix it, you can bet your ass he will. Their customer service is second to none.
  21. I have an Aftec in my Limcat Battlecat and it's awesome. I plan on buying/fitting a second one this winter to have as a backup. No input on the ejector though, sorry.
  22. As long as the butt of the gun is above the top of your belt, and the inside most portion of the gun is within 2" of the inside of your belt, you're "rules compliant". From a simple physics standpoint, whatever gets you to a firing grip the fastest, with the smallest amount of upper body movement (i.e. the only thing that moves are your arms, not your shoulders, hips or torso), then whatever works for you is what you should do.
