  1. Used Dawson's optic with Bo-Mar rear with exc. results.... Tried a bunch of the Kydex makers and now use a Cen-Dex "Storm". No problema with the Boat-Sail high .275 front. A Great holster that comes in quite a few height & cant options. Very "Fast" too: Cen-Dex
  2. Don't have Cabela's shorts yet but their 7 pkt. pants work great!
  3. Had an S&A but switched over to a Brown. Did not like the ugly gap left with several sets of grips tried on my gun.
  4. I'm very Happy with mine although the belt clip sucks and it eats the 9v btry's fast {used as a chrono}. THe AC adapter from Radio Shack PACT rec's. is cheap and good however. My BIG gripe is the non-availability of the HP printer. PACT seemed unconcerned about finding a replacment for it last fall when I called. {They were still out there but everybody wanted high retail for them} Also the soft cords for the chrono seem not as duarable as they might be. As their op. manual states they've built in lots of memory for future upgrades, with their guarantee that does hold strong position in my book.
  5. "The bullet diameter is very definitely .451, and the shellcase has been purpose built from the ground up. New head dimensions, new inside profile, beefier web, etc., etc. The only feature shared with ".45 Auto" here is the outside body diameter." From: http://communities.prodigy.net/sportsrec/g...lock37.html#en3
  6. Thank you, Raul. Will do.... Bugs
  7. Does he drill the trigger bar for over-travel, etc. set screws? TIA
  8. Might call Remington's 800#. They were very helpful when I was tracking down shipping now info. My Distributor got a bunch in 3 weeks ago, FWIW.
  9. "The CenDex stuff looks very nice, with the one whine that it requires shims to get down to my 1.5" belt." I don't like that shim either.......But it's made from hard rubber. Once I put it in the loop I forgot about it altogether, FWIW. "The Kytac contacts it on the slide near the sight, and I don't think this is necessary...." This is exactly where the KyTac I have for a G34 wears on the slide!
  10. I'm into OWB verticals. Is there any Kydex that will do the job? ........... not going to make left handed 1911 holsters. Is any Kydex carefully made? Two Cats, I'm also left handed......... Have used 4 of the {Kydex} brands you mention and have gone with Cen-Dex for everything {with the exception of some the KyTac's I already own}. Only have his stuff for Glocks & H&K's so far but 1911 is next. It's hard to judge but the Cen-Dex "Storm" OWB has proven much kinder to my Glocks finishes. Also is very fast, ruggedly over-built & very easy to dial-in the precise tension adjustment for draw. No BS or long wait even for building LH modesl too! Cen-Dex
  11. "Seriously, slightly softer than kydex?" Have been using one of Frank's new "ICE" PETG holsters for a couple of months for a G34 in IDPA. PETG is not physically softer it just feels that way compared to kydex. My take on this material from using it is that it is slighly thicker than kydex plus it appears it can not be bent around 180 dereees as tightly as Kydex so it makes the holster thicker. The best thing about the stuf, IMO, is that it is also noticably slicker than Kydex. Took me quite a while to get used to how fast the gun comes out of the holster. Can't go so far as to say it's faster than the best designed Kydex but it's a different draw now: no "snap" on release like my previous KyTac Point 5 just a very smooth release once the draw force ovecomes the holsters formed-in retention. {I'm sure a "light" gun like the G34 makes this seem faster as opposed to a full-boat 1911} So far it hasn't scuffed up or picked up much grit internally compared to the other Kydex stuff I have. Have a feeling it's going to be kinder on the slide finish or bluing but time will tell........ http://www.cen-dex.com/Cen-Dex%20on%20Ice%...e%20WEBPAGE.htm
  12. JP cas also do as much or as little as you want: http://www.jprifles.com/ShotgunIpscLimited...dTactical.shtml
  13. Have KyTac but am using Cen-Dex singles now and like them as well or better. Adj. can be fine tuned. Price and delivery are much better also. Cen-Dex
  14. Tossed a KyTac for Cen-Dex's "Storm". Can actually get one without waiting 3-6 months! Cen-Dex
  15. "Has anyone tried the Decal Grips? Or are these just skate tape for extra money?" Went thru Hogue sleeve then Pachmayr & the 3M sandpaper type tape did not last plus does not work well for even slight contours. The stuff Home Depot sells as "Ladder Tape" is by 3M: "3M™ Safety-Walk™ Medium Duty Resilient Tread" It's the same material as "Decal Grip", perhaps slightly thicker & coarser. Thick enough that edges may be skivved. It's a whopping .69 cents per foot for 1" wide. They have 2" & 4" also. Only need a quick wipe of gun with Isopropal for prep. Can be removed with no extra work or mess on the gun. Works superbly and lasts indefinately. __________________
  16. Have to agree with Tightloop! Had to wear muffs or plugs every day on my job AND wear what was provided by the company {read: not the best}. Wound up with Tinitis. If I only use plugs at a 2 hour Match the rining drives me nuts for 3 days to a week after. So it's large electronic muffs adjusted to cover the maxial bones outdoors & non-electronic over plugs indoors. {One of the VP Engineer's @ ProEars related a Ball State study that stated 25 or 27% of your hearing comes from/thru the maxial bones low & behind your ears} Having poor hearing when you get older really SUCKS !
  17. Have a Cen-Dex Taylor "Nighthawk" for the street and a "Storm" for IDPA, etc. Both are exceptionaly fast compared to the other Kydex have used. Cen-Dex
  18. Of the Glocks i've owned a 21 & 24 have been consistantly the "most" accurate. THe 17L's & 24's were/are fit tighter than the garden variety Glocks. Proved this to myself {sort of} by tossing 24 top end on a 22 receiver. Pretty sure I know how they did it but not 100%.

".....(which are presumably made by Speer because they're referred to as "FMJ/Gold Dot"):" This cartridge was developed in conjunction with Speer. FWIW, the 185 gr. is a Gold Dot loading but the 200 gr. is a FMJ flat-nose. Would be very surprised to see this pistol available before June.
  20. Since IDPA isn't supposed to be a "track & field" event I use good stout leather hiking boots with vibram soles.
  21. The only ones that have failed me were a couple early NDF .40 mags. THe ones with the liner that is, or appears too, rust. Feed lips don't have the guts or have spread open causing rounds to feed improperly. Haven't bothered to send them to Smyrna.........yet.
  22. Quote: from Flexmoney on 7:23 pm on July 11, 2002 It's been a while since I pissed anybody off. Just call me Walter. Flex..........I might have occasion to get pissed at you...? But I'd never call YOU Walt@#*^$*!!!!!
  23. FWIW, Chuck dosen't care if you use Weaver or Iso in his classes or on the street. He's more concerned with you finding what works for you.
  24. Light isn't right with a Glock trigger. A Glock with a 3-3 1/2 Lb. pull Ain't Nuthin like a 1911 with same! You can get a more than adequate trigger from a Glock with de-burring & simple polshing. FWIW, have never used the mushy 3.5 connector. With Fed primers & a 4 lb. spring it's even better. If you don't mind spending the $ both JP & Teddy Jacobson do excellent trigger jobs without changing any angles, etc. http://www.actionsbyt.com http://www.jpar15.com
  25. Chuck will be giving a 3-Day Pistol Course Aug. 9-11 finishing up with a Match run by him. Match and/or Classroom Seminar available separately. Easy access via NYS Thruway {I-90}. Contact Sam thru this link: http://www.dsm1.net
