My 9 just started doing this. I thought it was over pressure. But know other signs. Switched primers and thought that might be it. Saw that it was the same shape as the firing pin hole. But it has other problems that I'm correcting now. I had no problems with this gun for 7000 rounds and whamo! Barrel when by by. Got a new KKM on its way. I have a 2010 9pro.

I have had my m&p since oct.2010 and never had to many problems. Shot it for about 6 months on and off. Switched to 1911 platform for a year and a half. Just started shooting my m&p9 again and thought it was me switching to a new platform. Bagged it and its like shooting a shotgun. I couldn't even constantly hit the same spot from 5 yards. I could consistently put bullets through the same hole at 10yards. Just orders a KKM barrel. Let you know how it goes. I shoot 147 grainers out of it. Side note. I use to shoot plate rack at 30 yards with it all the time. Somewhere it went to hell on a handbasket in about 7000 rounds.

Moved from East side of Oregon to East Texas. Have horses like to shoot a lot, and there is a lot of shooting over here. But you will find better paying jobs in West and Central Texas because of the oil. So far the horses the wife and myself seem to like it. Shoot in my back yard and every week end when Im off or the honey do list isent to long. Really good people. Don't get the Yankee thing. I never played for them. LOL! I check all my brass before loading. Doesn't mean I wont miss something. Ran the first at 1.8 OAL. Loaded out longer to avoid pressure when I realized it wasent making PF.

He said ( Couldent get the Lee stuff to work). I started with Lee Pro 1000, and upgraded to a Load Master. Great F-ING stuff. Never had a problem that I dident create.

I started loading .40 for the first time with WST out of a custom Edge. The problem is Ive had to load 5.2 grains to make major. My OAL is 1.20. Crimp if any is .420. I have not seen any signs of pressure. What Im finding on here is people are maxing out at 4.8 to make major. With one gentleman going to 5.1. I hear talk of pressure being a problem. Has anyone had to load to this to make major? Has anyone had a 1911 or 2011 gun blow up using WST? One side note. I had to load a couple grains higher loading my .45 ACP as well with WST to make major. I wonder if its where I live?

There is a new Smith out here in East Texas , after he builds a gun he tests it on steel at 300 yards. Has to hit constantly Sometimes strong hand only. I called bullshit, and the guys there said that if they had not seen it first hand, they would not have believed it them selves. When he gets done with my trigger we will see. By the way a hell of a good Smith.

To make a long story short. I love my .45 200gn SWC from Bayou. Very accurate. Just when I think Im done tinkering, damn Donnie tells me about how he likes the 185's. The gun is a little snappier and cycles a little quicker.Puts you back on target quicker? Does anyone have excperaince with this. I here its closer to the feel of shooting a .40 180gn.

For the "fun factor" alone I would recommend a 1911 in 9mm. Like someone already mentioned, don't worry about the minor/major scoring issue and just learn to shooting the 9mm accurately. +1.

I know alot of guys that have major and minor loads for there .40 .Its a lot more versatile caliber. And this from a guy who doesnt own a gun in .40.I really need one.

Sometimes the last round will drag the follower out just enough to where it will catch the inside of the magazine well. When they were new. They dont do it hardly at all anymore. Now that they have been used alot.Keep the Chip Macorick body buy the Wilson follower with there springs and problem solved. You may have to cut the spring a little. I havent done this yet. But II am goingI to doyou it.I just talked to a gun smith about it at our last match.

I thought about doing exactly what your talking about.Do you need to do anything to the frame? .40 mags fit in the Pro 9 frame.I dont have one to compare it to so thats why so many questions.I would put all after market parts on the slide anyway. So getting a striped slide would free up some time.LOL!!Thats what I did to the 9Pro.

I have a 9 pro. I was going to turn it into a limited minor gun. I beleive I read somewhere you did somthing similar.Im not that good so I need all the points I can get. So would like a .40.Need to sell a gun to buy a gun. So Im in limbo.Would very much like to buy the M&P in the classifieds. Got to get rid of a.300RUM first. so the convertion would be great.But I dont think you can take a 9 and turn it into a .40.

Are you changing just the slide off a 9 pro? and putting on the 40 slide and berrel? Becuz I would love to do that!

I just recently moved from Oregon to Texas and all my reloading suff was packed away. Bought a box of .45 acp ball ammo and my gun kept jamming.I measured it and it was way long.

Really like my TRP.
