  1. I was digging the aluminum version that was announced at Shot 2014. Then I read the price.
  2. Take the stock grips to a machinist so he can measure the inner surface, the angles, and where the screws go. Then have the guy machine fatter grips. Any good machinist should be able to do that without too much trouble. Shouldn't take that long either. Cost depends on the machinist and the work load. This is a project I've considered myself since my bro can do all the machining, coding, etc. Just haven't found the time yet. I don't have large palms, but I have long fingers. I can palm a basketball. The grip feels small to my hands too.
  3. Did you force the safety with the hammer down? Shadows are not designed to let the safety engage with hammer down. For that matter, how hard did you pull the the trigger with the hammer down and the safety engaged? You could have damaged some internal parts, but it sounds like something is already damaged if you were able to engage it with hammer down.
  4. No distingushing markings. My Accu-shadow just says the same thing. SP-01 Shadow 9x19 or whatever it says.
  5. or how much Eric Grauffel spooge comes slapped into a lube bottle... Are you saying this is what you use to lubricate your firearms?
  6. The Shadow gun started as a slide made specifically for the CZ Custom shop, correct me if I'm mistaken. It had input from several shooters (Hobdell, Tyc, as well as LE/military) and was designed from the ground up with features in mind, or lack of I should say (IE: no FPB). CZ UB makes the slides as per the criteria CZ Custom Shop laid out, again correct me if I'm wrong. So how is it that much worse for the CZ Custom Shop to take Shadow slides they designed and add a more accurate bushing to it? BTW, all CZs have bushings. They're just not removable until the Accu-bushing came about. It's basically a product update. Of course the standard Shadow work goes into the Accu-shadow as well. The Accu-shadow just goes one step further by re-introducing the short reset disco and adding a new adjustable HAJO sight.
  7. The pre-Bs used to have short reset disconnectors. It really is just a disconnector. The rest is a trigger job which all Shadows have anyway. It's not like the CZ Custom Shop made a new trigger mechanism. It's a part from a pre-B gun that they found could work on a non firing pin block guns. http://czcustom.com/CZUBPREBDROPINDISCONNECTOR.aspx Are you sure they're the same parts and that's the only difference? Yep. Been posted about in a few threads on the CZ forums.
  8. I was referring to the other guy talking about the CZ Custom Shop redesigning the trigger. They didn't redesign the trigger unless you call a trigger job a redesigned trigger mechanism. Neither is the short reset disco a redesigned mechanism. And yes, I know the Accu-shadow is more than just a disco. I have had my custom Accu-shadow since Feb of this year. My favorite gun thus far.

  11. Not sure, but I did have one made for me.

I wonder if I could take an aristocrat slide back home with me? I wonder too. I'm actually going there in Dec. Hometown. I'm also going to be there in December. Why don't you buy one for a poor "once removed" Karlsruhe transplant? It's the least you wealthy Stuttgart natives could do. I´m NOT from Swabia, I´m from Baden like you. You know what happens when someone calls us a Swab, don´t you.... I come from nearby Freiburg, Black Forest. Greetz from your homelands, man. Freiburg, Karlsruhe, und Stuttgart. Awesome. My first time back in literally 23 years this December. Spent my childhood in Stuttgart. I still speak German daily, but it probably sucks nowadays. Will be in Stuttgart on the 18th. Wonder if there are still Chriskindlmarkts 20+ years later. Tempted to swing by the CZ place in Stuttgart. Didn't know it was local.

  14. Accu-shadow also indicates short reset disconnector. It's a stock option with all Accu-shadows.
  15. Most likely not prod. legal. Definitely longer than AUZ barrel since the AUZ barrels don't have enough length for threading.
  16. Surprised Stuart hasn't posted this here yet. .555 inch oversized threaded barrels. Supposedly good for sub 2 inch groups at 50 yards when mated with Accu-bushing and fitted to slide and frame. More info here from Stuart and Angus: http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=58654.0
  17. Is it that noticeably different? I picked the original 85C trigger because it looked better. The slim 85C trigger/97B trigger just look too anorexic. The SP-01/Shadow frame is just so massive that the slim toothpick thick trigger just looks like an afterthought. But if it does improve the feel substantially, I may try it. I just don't think it would make a drastic difference where I don't have to have the trigger on the intermediate phalange. I've experimented so much with where to place my index on the trigger, and this way keeps the front sight post as still as possible for my biomechanics. Gotten quite used to it after having dryfired so much.
  18. Hey, Mr., you have tons of oil on your hammer. Nice mod. I wouldn't mind a longer reach myself. I'm fine with the da. But the sa is so short that I have the trigger on the intermediate phalange of my index finger. Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love the SRT, but I'd love it more if the reset were further away, provided there would be no pre or over travel.
  19. Cajun does a short reset for the double action portion of the da/sa trigger pull.
  20. Just put black electrical tape on for a less permanent solution.
  21. You don't use a front sight pin with an Accu-shadow. The front sight pin would interfere with the threading cut into the slide for the bushing. It's the bushing that wedges the front site in place. The rear site dovetail can be machined to whatever dovetail you need.

    "Shadow Line"

My bro says on his Accu-shadow that he has to use more finger on the trigger. He has long fingers and decently sized palms. Can palm a basketball fairly consistently in fact. He puts his finger past the first knuckle, basically getting as much finger on the trigger as possible, and for the reason that Stuart mentioned above. The short reset trigger moves the trigger very far back. It's not comfortable to shoot with the pad on the trigger for him. It also makes it such that he has to be more conscious about keeping the sights from shifting during a trigger press. It feels more natural to use more finger on the trigger for him. On the double action first shot, it's even more apparent for him. Using just the pad makes the site shift all over the place. I guess it makes sense for him from a biomechanical stand point (his field).

    "Shadow Line"

Sounds like you could be a perfect candidate to do a T and E with the Shadow Line.

I see the hammer is the standard CZ UB competition hammer. Does that mean the Shadow Line hammer is not as good in terms of trigger pull?
  25. CZ Custom Shop is a separate entity entirely. They are not part of CZ USA (Kansas) or CZ UB. However, CZ USA/UB recognizes the work the Custom Shop does, which is testament to the kind of quality work they do. That said, I checked again about the CZC hammers. They are actually parts made by CZ UB that the Custom Shop buys in bulk. This is why they are legal and the CGW hammer is not. The CZC hammer is a stock hammer offered by CZ UB.
