  1. Astute observations. No. My brother requested an ambi slide stop for his Accu-shadow specifically. They are 85 slide stops retrofit to his Shadow frame.

    New CZ?

Different guns. OP is referring to this: http://czcustom.com/cz75shadowlinesada.aspxAnd CZ UB has a whole line of the "Shadow Lines." There's a compact Shadow Line, 75 Shadow Line, SP-01 Shadow Line, SP-01 Shadow Shadow Line Accu-shadow(kidding about this last one).
  3. BC it's aftermarket. It's not 100% identical to the CZC version. The CZC version from what I understand is actually a hammer CZ UB makes. CZ UB version (note: it's more rounded): Cajun version:
  4. What mags are those Looks like these: http://czcustom.com/cz759mm17rdmagplated5pk.aspx with Shadow base pads.
  5. Yes the new one is thinner than the original 85 Combat trigger. The original (fatter) 85 Combat trigger is designed to put the trigger as far back as possible. Perfect for someone that has short stubby fingers. And yes, get the Shadow because if you ever decide to get the short reset trigger installed from the Custom Shop, it can only be installed on CZ without a firing pin block (at least for now). Shadow with new 85 Combat trigger: My brother's Accu-shadow with the original 85 Combat trigger. You can tell it's fatter. EDIT: Credit goes to Stuart from the CZ Custom shop for taking that picture, or so my brother says.
  6. Different shapes. Original 85 Combat trigger: http://czcustom.com/CZ85Combattrigger.aspx New style 85 Combat trigger: http://czcustom.com/cz85combattriggershadow.aspx
  7. As far as I know, the Cajun Gunworks short reset trigger actually only reduces reset of the double action pull. It does nothing for the single action pull. The CZ Custom Shop short reset trigger does nothing for the double action pull and does everything for reducing reset of the single action. Might want to double check to make sure your gun is legal. An 85 combat trigger can be installed on any CZ 75 variant including SP-01s and Shadows. My bro has one on his Accu-shadow. Stainless guide rod versus plastic is a matter of preference. They are functionally the same. There is anecdotal evidence that the plastic ones wear out quicker, but there are also people that have used the plastic ones for tens of thousands of rounds. Really, what one should consider is the slightly increased front end weight if the stainless steel guide rod. Can't help you on the mag release. My bro's is extended since that's how it came from the Custom Shop, but he's never requested nor found a need for an extended mag release. It's no difference to him.

    CZ Noob questions

The greatest difference will be in how the trigger feels. It is night and day going from a CZ with a trigger job to a CZ that has a short reset trigger and a trigger job.

Different countries have different laws regarding measuring the barrel length. The Czech Republic measures from muzzle to end of breech face from what I understand. Yep, yep. The difference in barrel length is only .225 inch, not even a 1/4 inch. It's 4.925 versus 4.7.

He loves it. Test target showed a trigger pull of 3.1 pound single, 8.1 double, but after dry firing and sending rounds down range, it's noticeably lighter. The short reset trigger is really something special. He's running 13# recoil and 15% main, but had the gun set up to work for any factory or reloaded ammo. Most gun game shooters that use the CZ go 10# recoil and something like a 13# main. So while the trigger pull is not the lightest possible, it feels nice with a clean break and tactile reset. I bet a trigger pull gauge would confirm the SA to be in the 2 pound range. If you were just asking about the AUS barrel, it's just for looks. Will chrono a bit faster than a standard 4.7 inch barrel, but hardly noticeable. It sets his gun apart from the rest of the CZs.

Accu-shadow has a bushing system which has been ransom rest tested for <2.5 inches at 50 yards. The Accu-shadow also comes with a short reset trigger that reduces take up to less than 1/16th of an inch. The Accu comes with the HAJO competition rear sight (Height Adjustable Only) and pairs with a 7.5 mm front fiber. The only thing that is the same from both models is that they start from a Shadow Custom, which means both models have the standard trigger work, polishing, stainless steel full length guide rod, competition hammer, etc. Note, the Shadow Target has a different competition adjustable rear sight. Unless I'm missing something, if you slap on the Accu-bushing, short reset trigger, and HAJO comp rear sight on the Shadow Target, you have an Accu-shadow. The Aussie barrel length is not common to the US. My bro has it on his though.
  13. http://czcustom.com/czshadowcomprearhajo.aspx http://czcustom.com/czshadowtacrearhajo.aspx Requires 7.5mm front though. Don't know of any other adjustable sights that use the factory Shadow dovetails.
  14. Here is a picture of my brother's Custom Shop CZ Accu-shadow. He calls it the Accu-shadow AUZ because it has the Ozzie-land longer barrel. The short reset trigger from the custom shop is money. It has front and rear trit night sights, army green VZ g10 grips, and of course the namesake Accu-bushing. The right hand side sports an ambidextrous slide released from the CZ 85 that is retrofitted to the Shadow frame.
  15. Angus Hobdell replied on another forum where he moderates. I will quote it here. Those are all the recoil spring weights. Regarding hammer springs, I've read people saying factory weights were 18 pounds. That said, my brother's Custom Shop Accu-shadow is sprung with 15 pound hammer spring and 13 pound recoil spring.
