  1. I think it would be worth the trip Pat. If it is held at Pasa next year;)
  2. Sam I know several shooters that had conflicts with other matches, Graduations, etc. I heard some complain about the stages from years past (including me) and even with the match book posted ahead of time they still didn't show. Lots bitched about the previous matches being on mothers day and this year it wasn't and lots of them still didn't show. We all know some shooters would rather bitch than shoot Wife and I are trying to sell our house and are looking for a new one. We are cleaning and packing and putting things in storage. We have been so busy that this match was a HUGE intrusion with everything we have going on. I still didn't want to miss it and showed up to shoot. My head wasn't in the game at all and I shot the worst major I ever shot. BUT I was still there and supporting revolver division. The best part was shooting with friends and seeing some of the people I only see once or twice a year. Got to meet some great people on our squad that I had never met or shot with before. While a lot of the "regulars" weren't there there were a lot of new faces and first timers. Life happens and I understand several had conflicts but new shooters made up for it.
  3. Jay one of revolver DQ's was not a 180 call. ElPez was shooting stage 1&2 and we were staying hot between stages. He shot stage 1 and made ready for stage 2 and moved to stage 2(25 or so feet). Stage 2 RO said make ready and he took gun out of holster and aimed at a target and pulled trigger forgetting gun was hot. Not just correcting you Jay just thought it might be a reminder to everyone to be careful on stages like this. OK now this thread can go back in the crapper.
  4. Two of the stages had targets and poppers in a muddy mess. Not sure why they dropped the dark house but I was never sure why they had it in the first place.
  5. Match was WAY better than before. Stages were on par with other major matches. Match ran smooth and on time or even early. Revolver shot 12 instead of 15 stages due to mud, etc. I thought it was a well balanced match. A huge THANK YOU to the staff and everyone that made the match happen. Also THANK YOU to the sponsors that supported this match. Last but not least congrats to all the winners.
  6. That was a mistake he was shooting minor and was corrected later. Don't know why they didn't repost scores. It only dropped him a couple of spots.
  7. If they drop in OK with a clean gun then your powder is the problem. Need to find a cleaner powder.
  8. I disagree Pat I have done side by side drills and a bigger chamfer is more consistent and average times were faster. I don't remove hardly any material from the extractor, but every gun is a little different. On the .357 guns if you want to shoot without moonclips(why?) you have be careful and not make the chamfer to big as the case will not be supported by the ledge that runs around the cylinder letting them go to far in the cylinder and firing pin can't reach them. My competition action jobs are moonclip ONLY guns unless specified different by the customer. No one has ever proven to me that a bigger chamfer hurts anything.
  9. Well to be fair a lot of the country hasn't been shooting because of the weather. Lots of shooters around here are still debugging Their guns. Match this weekend had 92 shooters with 9 PCC.
  10. I'm not trying to argue I just took "or" as(Webster's definition) "coffee or tea - sink or swim" kind of either one or the other kinda thing.
  11. Once again my argument is the shooters don't have to move to a different location BUT targets must be available from a different location and they are in the 3x3 shooting box by merely moving your feet(according to rules as written). No one has to move or be "compeled" to move. Have seen open shooters shoot a 32 round course(not a good design) from 2 positions at back fault line. MD just shook his head as he and several others on setup missed it.
  12. OR has several definitions but I disagree with your use of "OR" https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/or In fact in your interpretation above you used "and" instead of "or"(I highlighted in red). I didn't write the rules so I can't say what the person who did is trying to say. If the rules mean no more than 8 shots from a location and view then 90% of the field courses I have ever shot have been illegal. Here is a stage from the just shot Optic Nationals with 11 shots from 1 position/view(she only moves one foot). Targets are available from other locations even if you don't shoot them from another location. USPSA definition of location is both feet moved.
  13. Nothing in the example I listed violated the free style rule. Rules say you cannot require more than 8 shots from a position. That doesn't mean you can only have 8 shots from a position as long as some of the targets are available from a different position. Rule book defines a different position as movement of both feet. Doesn't say 1,2 or 3 steps just movement of both feet. I have seen many stages where open or limited shooters could shoot 16 to 20 plus from 1 position and then engage the rest from 1 or 2 positions. Trust me I don't like or approve of these stages as a revolver shooter but just pointing out they are legal according to the rules.
  14. Maybe not in the spirit but with in the rules. As a shooter that shoots the lowest capacity division all the time I don't condone the examples I used above but just pointed out the hole in the rules.
  15. Yes according to the rules as written. Legally could have a 3x3 shooting box and 16 wide open targets and be a legal stage. As long as you can move your feet within the shooting box then targets are AVAILABLE from a different position. Not a good stage but legal none the less. I questioned a match director about a stage that had 5 targets that had to be shot thru a port and reminded him about 8 shots from a position. He walked up and showed me that the targets were available from several positions by just moving your feet a couple of inches while shooting thru the port.
  16. I signed up but don't show on the squadding. Had same problem last month and Sue had to change something.
  17. They have been having 70-80 shooters and they are on central time if that helps any(actually you will lose an hour coming back). They only run 5 stages but last month they had 6 squads.
  18. Well I have been observing the PCC thing for a while now and my observations have been. 1- looks fun and the ones shooting it are excited about it. 2- I don't care what anyone says but the average PCC shooter takes about twice as long to make ready and show clear as a pistol shooter.( with exception to the rare pistol shooter that does a long zen like ritual) 3-I have been to 2 different matches walking the stages before the match and the setup crew was fine tuning the stages. They were making adjustments while ghosting with a rifle. So those who say that the stages won't change with the rifles I'm a little skeptical after seeing this. 4- Still lots of confusion as to what to do before and after with the gun. Seems every club is different. Some bring gun to line bagged and some carry it to the line unbagged. 5- Some clubs start shooters from low ready and some with butt of gun on belt except on the classifier which has it spelled out in the WSB. 6- RO's need to really watch the timer at the end of a course of fire as I have had to hold the timer over the shooters shoulder or above their head to pick up the last shots. Really need to watch and make sure the timer is picking up the last shots. 7- I think the classifiers are a problem as I have seen some B class shooters score GM runs with a PCC. Which means if they keep it up they may be a master with their other guns whether they want to or not. Looks like it would be fun to shoot but I'm still doing the Revolver thing but maybe someday. As for the overall results thing as a Revo shooter they are very important to me as there are not many of us at most matches and I know where I should fall in against the auto shooters. While I'm aware that the overalls don't count they are still fun to look at. They are more important to some people than they let on. While RO'ing in the last month I have had 2 very good open shooters burn down a field course and after ULSC they turned and said lets see the PCC guys beat that.
  19. Rockcastle is a good match if that is during your time there. They run 5 stages including the classifier. I hope to be at Rockcastle this month. Say HI if you make it I'm the guy shooting a revolver with yellow jersey on. Note: just heard Owensboro has been canceled this weekend if anyone seen the post above and plan on attending.
  20. Owensboro shoots USPSA Friday and Saturday. BGSL shoots Sunday.
  21. OK saw in the new Blue Press that the 550 is now C instead of B. May have been this way a while and I just noticed it. What is different from the B to C?
  22. I have seen a lot of short bolts from S&W lately. Yes you can file the front flat to let the bolt come farther forward. All the ones I have ever replaced with new ones have been too long and needed shortened. Might call S&W and see if they will send you a new one. Make sure the cylinder latch is not bottoming out on the forward edge of the travel slot. As for the ball detent, you can make it easier to open by filing the outer leg of the notch on the barrel. Just file where it is already flat and go slowly as you can take to much off and effect the lock up.
  23. So you didn't get a shirt and that means USPSA doesn't support Revolver division? USPSA gives me a place to shoot my Revolver at matches and a national event to attend if I choose to. That works for me.
