The rules for CO were updated in January 2016 (minutes) to mandate an Optic Below is a response to an email I sent to NROI in August 2015 after the provisional rules were first published in July of that year:
-
Actually the reason they mandated an optic was to get a real sense of how many people were shooting prod/optics vs prod/irons. It was not just for nationals it was for all matches, this was during the provisional stage when it was put into place.

Bylaws Changes, WITH NON POLITICAL COMMENTARY
BritinUSA replied to GrumpyOne's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
I think the USPSA President Election should be held before the proposed bylaw changes are put into effect. The election process could have two parts, the first to pick the President and the second part where the members could vote on each of the proposed changes. -

Term Limits: I’d like to see a provision in these bylaws for term limits, perhaps set at two terms (2 x 4 years). -
MTM P100-3 is the correct model if you search for that you can find it in stock at Amazon, Scheels etc.

Bylaws Changes, WITH NON POLITICAL COMMENTARY
BritinUSA replied to GrumpyOne's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
Original bylaws stipulated that a two thirds (2/3) majority be required for the BOD for certain actions. This has been changed to 3/4 in the draft bylaws. With nine members of the BOD, this is an increase from 6 to 8. If these bylaws are passed and the membership seeks to back some of them out at a later date it would require replacing almost the entire BOD. I think they should retain the original 2/3 majority. -

Recall: I would like to see an option in the bylaws that empowers the membership to recall an Area Director/President. I would suggest a petition that numbered greater than the total number of votes from their latest election. This would help prevent frivolous recall efforts. So if a total of 2000 votes were cast for the position then that number of signatures from that area/nation would be required to trigger a recall. The recall would then trigger a special election where the current AD/President would automatically be listed as a candidate along with any other candidates who wanted to run. -

The draft bylaws make many references to ‘Front Sight’ magazine but its now just called ‘USPSA’. -

Article 6.1 and 6.2 I think that Life membership as a requirement once elected is okay but I think there could be an option added to item (vi) that states that being a member continuously for the past 10 years would also be acceptable. I think this demonstrates the same level of commitment to the sport without the need for a large cash outlay. -

Not sure how that will work; I like the idea of being able to highlight some problem/issues, but a lot of it is political by its very nature. Perhaps when a post violates the rules, could the mods say exactly what the issue was to advise future posters? -

Comparison document of current/draft bylaws is HERE I would recommend downloading the file and viewing it in a PDF viewer using two page (side-by-side) to more easily view the changes, -
Rubber mats, gives you better traction and will help to prevent damage to base-pads during reload practice.

I’ve walked a few prize tables too - sadly later than most - if there is something I need I grab it. If I can’t see anything I need then I grab something good and give it away to someone who does need it. There are quite a few people that have done the same, including a couple of big name shooters. There is a special place on this forum for people offering Free Stuff

No, what is silly is people denigrating an idea with insults in order to discourage its discussion, rather than using logic and reason to address the real concerns that others have about an issue.

It’s only the largest division because it has robbed the others. Eventually participation in the other divisions will drop below the ‘break-down point’. This is the point where participation in some clubs drops low enough that people move to other divisions so they have someone to shoot against. This is a similar mechanism that causes new divisions to grow. There is a slow period where very few people are shooting it, then it hits a certain ‘break-out point’ where enough people are competing that it encourages others to try it, and then it grows rapidly. It is entirely possible that CO will pull enough competitors away from the other divisions that they end up like Revolver; Then there will be one division, and all choice will be gone. There was a balance, and now it’s gone… The divisions need to complement one another, while offering variations that appeal to different people. Instead focus was directed at a single division, to the detriment of the others.

I think a lot of the divisions are being bled by 'Carry Optics'. The four main divisions each had their pros and cons. The competitor then chose the one that interested them or was the closest to their equipment, or even the least objectionable. Essentially, there was no ideal division. By allowing virtually all modifications and increasing magazine capacity they made it closer to Limited/Open divisions, so it bled people from those divisions as well as those that wanted to shoot Minor but wanted to have higher capacity. They basically turned CO into 'One Ring to Rule them All'. In my opinion they ruined it its the main reason why I quit the sport. I preferred the original intent, ie. Production Optics with the same ruleset as Production but with a dot. So if Prod/Optics went to 15 then so would Production. There would be no need to go to higher capacity as it would impact the other divisions. I think the balance of the four main divisions was up-ended by the changes to CO… Its too late now, they will never hit the reset button.

You may have an older version cached. clear cache and then reset screen size to 100% then zoom in, you should see three horizontal bars top right corner.

So you tried typing Limited Minor and it changed the text ?

USPSA - How about adding .22lr (RFPI, RFPO)
BritinUSA replied to Nic_USPSA_C's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
This has been discussed in the past on another thread. Every shot needs to be picked up, if there is a malfunction and the last shot is not detected then it’s a reshoot, as there is no accurate time to record.
