The one time I had to collect a lot of MSDS's I just started pulling manufacturers names off the containers and looking them up in the Thomson Register. Then I started calling them! I managed to find most of them (this was a machine shop with some ancient stuff) and the ones I did get a hold of were happy to send an MSDS out. This was 15 years ago and I'm sure the internet makes the task a lot easier now.

How about a gun show? At the shows here there are usually 4 or 5 vendors that are just drowning in Oregon knives so the prices are usually pretty good.

Yes it's possible, just a little trickier.

I experienced anything longer than 1.15" stuck in some EAA mags years ago.
