Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I walked by 2 targets on the first stage on Tuesday.....2 FTE and 4 mikes HF 0.00000 when I dropped my final mag I planned to have 1 bullet left, it had 5.....I knew I was screwed. Than to make matters worse I picked the mag up and put it directly into my belt, yeah you can see what's coming right? Next stage final mag I need to finnish 1 - 2, 1 - 2, 1 - 2, 1 - 2 . I finish 1 - 2, 1 - 2, 1 -click...…… 1 FTE 3 mikes Well my head was not where it belonged for sure. I was safe, no one got hurt, except the little pride I could muster up and on then the final stage I double miked a swinger. the good news I engaged it I just whiffed. Throw out that day but man being mental strong is important. Shooting this weekend and I will do much better. If you are finished unload and show clear...………………... RCG
  2. I got a set of LOK grips for my Limited Custom, I have LOK's on 5 other guns right now, and I have been extremely happy. These grips did not fit. I sent them a picture of the grips not fitting and they asked me to take the Mag well off and see if they fit that way and if they do they sent me a GIF of a guy sanding the bottom of his grips to make them "custom" grip. They are not inexpensive and they are supposed to be custom grips before I tweak them or possibly ruin them. If I didn't like LOK grips so much I would be pretty upset but when they do fit they are not only great looking but they make shooting my gun fun. Not what I was expecting from them. RCG
  3. I have a gun from both CZ C and Cajun GW .Both are very nice gun and are sweet shooters with awesome triggers. I just bought a new gun a couple weeks ago and heard of CJ Maven the same as mentioned in the quote above. CZcustoms leadtime was 10 weeks ....Cajun was around 10 weeks ....CJ’s was one week and less expensive to do the Villian trigger job. I fed exed my gun to CJ and had it back in a week. He was a master at communication and he is a master at gun smithing in my opinion as well. The gun he worked on for me is every bit as good as either one of the other two I own and compete with. CJ did a better job of communicating and making sure I was happy and then either of the other two places. I now have sent another gun, my SP01, to him for Cerekoting. I don’t work in the gun industry. I just shoot a lot and appreciate excellent customer service. My suggestion, give CJ a shot you will be very happy. RCG
  4. I have used 231 as one of my 2 "go to" powders depending on availablity or lack there of. My other go to has to cross the ocean from Finland and is sarce most of the time around here so I have used 231 alot and I like it. Brass : Mixed head stamps polished Primers : Fed SP or Win SP Fed is my first choice Bullets : MG JHP 124g OAL 1.123 Powder: 231 4.4g It is my favorite 231 recipe, it is accurate, not snappy, pretty clean, and consistant. I have become a big fan of 231 with JHP bulets. 231 meters very consistantly in my experiance. RCG
  5. My shooting buddy keeps melting his front sight FO on his M&P. I keep telling him its his Titegroup but he keeps telling me I'm wrong. He bought 8# of it and he will not spend another penny on new powder until he uses all the "best powder there is" TG in his opinion. He will however keep buying new FO rods, he evne has bought new colors to try. I want to show him this thread. Thanks for the validation!!!! RCG
  6. VV is clean burning, meters very consistant, accurate, not sensative to temperature(that I have noticed), very little flash or smoke and cost a lot Titegroup is dirty, meters ok not much variation in a good powder drop, is accurate, a bit sensative to temp, smoky when shot and is inexpensive. It depends on what is important. Powder is the least expensive component. Each brand will work good with around 4.0g under a 124gr projectile. Thats 1750 rounds per pound from VVn320 or from TG. TG is a bout 1.15 pennies per round VV n320 is around 2.25 pennies per round. Is it worth a penny a round for the perceived advantages of VV. For me it is, the bad thing is if you run out of VV you will find more TG you may not find any VV. RCG
  7. I also suggest N320 4.1g in my 9mm loads. It is simply the best powder I have found! I personally use MG FMJ 124g RN, Only Federal SP primers and an OAL of 1.123. I did trial and error and this is my favorite bullet I can make. It may not work for you, nor do I make any suggestions that anyone else follow my lead. Good luck have fun and load a bunch! RCG
  8. I got a 132PF with a CZ SP-01 Tac using MG 124 FMJ 4.1 VV N320 AOL 1.123 Fed SSP I am very happy with this load. I have not Chrono ed any other loads of mine. I should really compare but since I have settled on the described load I have shot almost all my other loads and have only reloaded to this recipe. I should recheck my results soon because I am now on a different jug and it appears there may be some variation. Although I went away from TG to VV N320 because I was told there would be very little if any. The price diffence ammoritized over 1700 rounds / pound is so minor it is barely a factor at all. Interesting reading about the different results in the different guns. RCG

    CZ vs 92F?

The 92 is a nice gun. It shoots pretty dang good. I own one 92 and a bunch of CZ's. I carry a CZ and I compete with a CZ and there is one on my night stand. I am very pleased with all aspects of all of my CZ's and I do still shoot my 92 it rarely gets out much anymore. RCG
  10. I use a very similar load almost 100% of the time..... this is my load of choice and is not an endorsement or a garantee either actual or implied. I am not suggesting anyone try it I ma just passing on my favorite roll your own recipe. Range Brass Fed SP Primers 4.1 Vit N320 Montana Gold 124 RN FMJ 1.123 OAL My favorite by far RCG

    I am the King...

DoubleA I would not be afraid of putting my hobby money into a CZ at all. The SP-01 is an excellent choice. it takes the average guy a lifetime to go through 13,000 rounds and the average USPSA guy will shoot for years before he or she hit 13K rounds. I know of 3 SP-01's that have over 13K rounds throught them and my own is quickly approaching 13K. 2 weekends ago I put 1550 through it in 2 days without a hitch. I did have to clean and oil it between sessions on Sturday evening. LOL. Rest easy when you buy the gun you will have made avery good decision. RCG
  12. Go....shoot....have fun make a couple new friends. Just listen to the RO's carefully, keep saftey in the forefront of your thoughts and have fun. RCG
  13. N330 is great for mimicking normal factory loads. IMHO N320 is better for shooting minor, just above the PF. I like 320 also! To be fair I have never tried 330..... RCG
