  1. Aug 27-30 2009 have been confirmed for the 2009 Area 8 Championship at the Fredericksburg Rod and Gun Club in Fredericksburg, VA. Lew Walker will be the Match Director and Gary Stevens will be the Range Master. I will be adding details here as we move forward with the planning of the match. Alan Meek USPSA Director Area 8
  2. Are you sure about that.... 8.1.3 Courses of fire may require ready conditions which are different to those stated above. In such cases, the required ready condition must be clearly stated in the written stage briefing. When a Handgun Ready Condition requires a handgun be prepared with an empty chamber (or cylinder), the slide of the handgun must be fully forward (or the cylinder must be fully closed) and the hammer or striker must be fully down or fully forward, as the case may be, unless otherwise specified in the stage briefing. It appears that you might have gotten it backwards
  3. Impressive! This one gets filed with another one I know of. Years ago I had met an armorer at Ft Irwin, CA. He hand cut with files a lo-mont Bo-Mar cut in a 1911 slide. Tow both you and him, I say Bravo, Bravo. Alan
  4. Congrtats Ed, one more step covered Alan
  5. Congrats to the Staff that put on another great WPA Sectional match. Also thanks a ton for mall the staff that worked the match. It was a blast to shoot this match. Alan
  6. Chris, I feel that both should be an option for Match/Organizers to use. Alan
  7. I left this out: It should not be so much a game of power but that of shot placement and accuracy. Have a nice day, Jack So we should only use 22lr ? Aren't you the same guy that said USPSA bought the Steel Challenge so you could figure out why it made money? Your smart reply is one of the reasons USPSA is falling behind the power curve. Jack Jack I am not the one the said that about the Steel Challenge. I am the Area Director that brought an Inaugural Multigun Championship to Area 8. Along with Howard Thompson as the MD and Dean DeTurk as the RM and the Great Staff we put on a Multigun Championship that welcomed 99 competitors and they shot 7 Stages that totaled 318 Rounds (Avg 45 per stage). We used the San Angelo Scoring and had ZERO issues. The only delay in finishing the scoring was trying to locate a couple of misplaced scoresheets. We also had a great Sponsor Participation with Larue, DPMS, Smith and Wesson, Otis Technology, Safariland, and others that joined us in this inaugural event. So I am and have been watching this topic with great interest. USPSA is not falling behind the power curve, there are some areas we need to improve on and I will do what I can to work on those improvements. One thing that seems to be the constant is not the scoring, it is the administration of the match. A poorly run match will be a poor match and an exceptional run match will be exceptional. Alan
  8. I will vouch for Ed's misses as soon as she makes the correct formal application

  10. No real address, you can use these GPS coordinates 40 21 36.53" N 80 15 41.22 W Alan
  11. Not to mention the impact those agenda items could/will have on USPSA Members that travel to compete internationally on a regular basis. Alan
  12. The BoD has been having informal discussions in regards to the IPSC GA Agenda. Any members are encouraged to contact their AD with their thoughts on the Agenda. Alan
  13. My Open "B" Classification is still safe. With the caveat I did win a field course that was not a classifier. Over all I shot 83% of RonF's score Off to the Western PA Sectional next week. Alan
  14. Man, Talk about allowing the fox in the hen house!! Mr. major 9 himself babysitting a single stacker?? Right! Gentlemen, oh and Alan, I will remain true to the faith. My "foray" into open will be with my single stack holster, single stack legal gear, my trusty Les Baer Single Stack and 8 round magazines. I am dedicated to the one true faith of Single Stack Elitest Snobbery. It will not matter what kind of cookies those bass-turds offer, well maybe chocolate chip might... NO I WILL RESIST even Chocolate chip... I respectfully submit the following report to the 1911 SSEC esteemed membership: Member Mr Deegan, stayed true to form and shot the FRGC Classifer match with his Single Stack gear in USPSA Open Division. As these are the first four classifiers for Mr Deegan he will now be classified in Open as well as Singlestack. While it seems his classifiaction average will be ~44%, by calcualtions Mr Deegan should receive his A card later this month and that would make hos Open Class "B". My Mea Culpa, I did shoot Open with my Caspian Hi-Cap, so while it is not the revered 1911 Single Stack, it is an all steel open gun. Alan
  15. I am reconfiguring my 15-3 back to a 4" and I need the rear sight leaf screw. I have one on back order with Numrich arms, but I do not know when I will get it. Any suggestions as to where I can obtain one? Thanks Guys and Gals Alan
  16. Lynn, From what I can tell it seems to be a parsing error. I get the same issue with the member number A57557 in open. You can enter the competitor number and get a summary that way. Have you reported this to Rob Boudrie? Alan
  17. Great recommendations Chuck
  18. Is this a regional thing???? Well Ed does live close to **** ********.
  19. I will be shooting the same match so I will keep an eye on Mr. Deegan to make sure he doesn't slip too far into the dark side.
