  1. You can't check if a mount is at fault without even using the same ammo. I don't care what mount you have all ammo can change the groups. If you didn't use the same ammo you don't even have a real complaint.
  2. Anyone know why they have such Larue hate on Snipers Hide? I got slammed there for commenting that my friends Larue OBR out shot the GAP AR10 I used to own. Damn even the owner of the forum jumped on me. Pat Easy to answer, Mark Larue came on snipershide and proved to be nothing more than a simple minded a_-hole. His mounts have issues and the new brands are building better platforms than his and he can't stand it so he comes on and bitches about it. Lowlight the owner of Snipershide did a review of the mount and Mark called his employer and asked he be fired. Like I said Mark is nothing more than an a_-hole. If you guys all want to spend your money on a douche bag and claim it holds zero to the people who test the stuff they shoot (not just look at it) then go ahead. I have have never seen a Lapoop hold zero unless its never been removed. Scars the rail and cost to much for what you get. Check out this review of BOBRO mounts and tell me you didn't get hosed buying your lapoop piece of crap.
  3. I would take a look at the Seekins line. Best rails on the market and I have used them all.
  4. Larue's mounts do not always hold zero. Their setup is flawed and in need of an upgrade. The other brands out there have been doing the work on finding what works and what does not. I have tested Larue and while they are a well built mount they do not hold zero, expect an average of half moa to 1 moa shift. The GG&G is about the same and the ADM is better but I have even had some ADMs that did not hold perfect while others did. The Bobro is a great choice and does return everytime. GDI is the best QD mount but it is about twice the cost of those mentioned. I would go BOBRO if they have the mount you need. Larue is over rated and has a cult following regardless of how bad his gear can be.
  5. Here is some more info on the scope, I heard it is true 1x but the reticle sucks big time. http://sightron.com/index.php?action=view_document&did=1201816362&cat_id=6&id=193
  6. Lets face it for the money sightron has made some great scopes, I am sure this will be a great optic.
  7. Not as bad as the thread on snipershide
  8. I thought that having more than one sight put you into Open. I could well be wrong because not all competitions follow the same rules. You are right beacuase lots of people do not want to shoot open. A 1-4x is good enough for me.
  9. These will be under or right around 10oz for the 14" rail model.
  10. I pulled this from some information I got on them. 7075 billet and the rail mounting points are machined in place retaining the stiffness of a true monolithic upper while allowing the rails to be completely modular. This new upper design is much thicker in the most critical area and will aid in squeezing the potential accuracy out of your rifle. Instead of a internally threaded barrel nut this system uses a externally threaded Titanium barrel nut with 1-1/8” wrench flats on it for simple installation. No special proprietary wrenches needed. These will be available for the two new SP rails below as well as the BAR and SAR rails currently sold thru Spikes Tactical.
  11. I was lost as well. Also, I suspect this stuff will be brutally expensive and out of the price range of most competitors. Not really, upper and rail of your choice will run right around $500, same as most on the market. Seekins is the same company that builds all of spikes billet stuff also.
  12. Yes I did but with the way it was worded it made it hard to understand if I worked for Seekins or not, which to be clear I do not. So the mods had to pull it until I fixed the wording.
  13. I found this new mount setup and was wondering if anyone has tried these? I don't know about the whole spring setup but they look like a good idea. The Tri Pod would be great for precision work. Looks like the 30mm scope mount is not going to be for sell for about another month but I heard some went out so maybe a person here got to try it out. Thanks for any information. http://www.alamofourstar.com/
  14. So there is a new line product coming out soon from Seekins Precision it is a new Monolithic Upper system which you can change the rail sizes. This was pulled from some of his comments that were taken from another forum. There stuff is all built from 7075 billet and I have been using his uppers and lowers for some time now and they have some of the best features I think for the money. (I am in no way connected to the company) Just excited to see some new ideas on the table. The triangular rail was designed out of necessity from shooting 3 gun and sniper competitions where barricade or improvised shooting positions are frequent. At only 2 wide it fits perfectly into your hand and instantly feels at home. On a barricade, barrel, ledge or window opening the flat surfaces give you a very sturdy rest allowing for faster and more accurate shot placement. 12 and 14 lengths
  15. That is with the assumption that the rail is shorter than the gas block. My rail is 13" from Seekins so I doubt with a mid gas system it would be better to shorten the rail and go with a shorter sight radius. Actually, I mean a clamp on front right behind the comp, either a dedicated clamp on or a 2nd gas block with front sight. Maximize the sight radius, AND avoid the any problems with zero changing on a handguard mounted front. .jj Makes sense....Both which you mentioned above would work great, and does work great!

  17. There has been some issues with the timneys in the past but I still have a POF which I think Timney helped on the trigger in one my ARs and for a single stage its one of the best triggers I have. I like the timney in my remington 700 also.
  18. Seekins has a rep of being well made, what does it feel to reload with the front of the magwell being shaped as it is? Advantage/disad. I like the magwell on the Seekins lowers, does it give a big advantage (NO) It sits lower than the standard forged lowers so it takes a bit to get used to. Once you have the hang of it then it does become easier but not much difference. On the inside of the magwell it has been beveled to make mag changes easier. His GEN II series is better than the GEN I and I do own both, main thing is the features of the new ones make it nicer than the POF lowers. The look is sweet, the finish is great and the fit with just about every upper is perfect with no movement. If there was to much movement you can tighten to the upper with a screw in the grip. I have used mine for the past two years shooting competition without a single issue (High Quality Parts in the Lower) The thing is with all the parts out there most lowers and uppers will do fine its just a matter of what you want and why.
  19. Now Kurt I think your a great shooter, great guy and provide a lot of help to people online, but I think your wrong on the statement above. I would have surely thought you'd have remembered each sponsor who donated something to a match you and Trapr put on back in the Spring of THIS year? http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=114641&st=150 Post No. 168, might want to go back and check that thread or the sponsor page from the match you guys put on in OKC... http://www.highplainsshootingchallenge.com/?page_id=23 While it has the NST logo, the fact is Noveske sent product to your match this year. So you really have not SEEN anything this year? Alright if you say so. While not owned by Freedom Group or some other large conglomerate with advertising dollars in the hundreds of thousands, Noveske Rifleworks LLC is a small shop run in a family manner with people who are family to me. They do what they can to support 3 gun and action rifle matches all over the USA and overseas where our troops are stationed. That is a fact. I won't make any apologies for Noveske not being able to support the sport to a level like other companies named in this thread, I would THINK we would all be happy they are doing what they can, by donating what they can when they can to every match they can. But reading some of the posts in this thread makes me really wonder who actually takes notice of who sponsors what and where. So to see people say they don't support the sport in such a blanketed statement as the one quoted above, especially when they donated to your own match, is a bit difficult to comprehend. I'm sure Travis Gibson, Denise Johnson or Dean DeTurk can attest to their supporting some 3 gun this year too since Noveske sponsored the MGM IRONMAN, the RM3G and the 3 man 3 gun championships. Rob and I shoot alot of matches too. Just saying. What you said is 100% true on every level. I get tired of everyone speaking about how the big dogs of the shooting sports gives more than the little shops. Truth is when the small shops give to the sport it is giving more than the big guys with money to spare on such things. The Gibson Family which you mentioned also runs things great for a family business.
  20. I have the rainier match upper also and it is built a bit tighter than most but it won't do anything that just about any other upper will. I have mine on a seekins lower which mate perfect to each other. I know you didn't mention them but Seekins is the best just about everything http://www.seekinsprecision.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=10&Itemid=14
  21. I would save the money and use it on some ammo to shoot the gun with instead of something you don't need. Those optics on 1x is faster than switching to BUIS on a 45 degree mount anyways. If you go any route get the JP and I have tried out the magpul BUIS and they are junk but you get what you pay for. The Troys are much better.
  22. On the optic the XTR 1-4x is by far my choice and yes I have used all the ones above mentioned. A ADM is a good mount the Bobro is better and the Larue would be on the bottom of the list of the three. On the trigger the JP is not a bad choice by any means but the Giessele trigger is just perfect. Not much more you could ask for in a trigger. Here is a review I did on the XTR. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=121026
  23. You should get a headspace case gage to adjust the size die. This should fix any issues you may have.
  24. Honestly I would not use that. I would only use Troy if it had to be a flip down. If you want the sight radias then just go for irons and in the future if you wish to shoot tactical then switch then.
  25. That sucks. I have been observant enough up to now to stay away from those nasty words DQ but it can happen to even the best shooters. At least it was a ammo issue and not something like a safety issue. At least you will be more careful on what you load
