  1. You will be happy with it. What mount did you go with? The Burris PEPR?
  2. Sorry for your loss, its hard when a loved pet dies. I had to lay my German Short Hair down after some great years of hunting and hell that dog grew up in a loved home. Again sorry, the pictures are great!
  3. Yes I am aware of that. I have more than one M&P I could try it out on. I also looked at cutting them down but why bother when you can go with a metal TF.
  4. Thanks for letting me know. I have not tried them in the last two years so if the change is newer than that then I might have to get one to at least test it out.
  5. If anyone wants to read a good review check out Franks full review from snipershide, http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2662626&gonew=1#UNREAD
  6. One is plastic being the Arrendondo and one being metel the TF I don't think one has to ask which is better. I also shoot with a SSS magwell so the TF was the only choice. I have owned both and the Arrendondo ones had an issue with coming undone in the middle of matches. I have seen most people who shoot with them use an epoxy to hold the back on from slipping off the magazine. The TF have no problems just get the springs with them so it will hold open on the last round and work perfect.
  7. I use the 75 Grain A-Max for the longer shots with good results. I shoot 55 for everything else.
  8. Looks great! The lightend slide looks sweet!
  9. What is your problem with Larue? Its like your on a one man mission to slam them whenever you get a chance. Larue has a well earned reputation for making solid mounts. Frankly the way you talk about them shows your inexperience with them. I have never met an un happy Larue owner. ADM makes a solid product and I own one but Larue is a better product in my opinion. I can adjust the Larue just right while the ADM is either too tight or loose. Just the way it is. Never tried the Bobro. Your slamming a company that makes great products and supports the sport quite a bit. Before you slam them again you should back up what you are saying. You talked about real world tests but never showed anything. Your slandering a good company with no evidence and most of us here know just how good Larue mounts are. Pat Strangedays.....we get it. You personally don't like LaRue mounts. On several other boards you have posted your issues and it is simply a major personal one. This forum however values objective assessment much higher than the personally motivated vindicitiveness that you post in every LaRue thread across other gun forums, maybe it's time to tone it down. The fact is JP, LaRue, ADM, BOBRO, AUD, Spuhr et al all manufacturer excellent quality mounts with high degrees of precision manufacture, repeatability, and quality control. These manufacturers also offer some of the best customer service. The kicker on all these is that both JP and LaRue support our sport on a level that all the other manufacturers combined cannot match. Couple that with both companies unrivaled support of those who stand in harms way and you have every reason to put them at the top of the list of manufacturers to purchase mounts from. Your response is evident that you have Not looked at why I do not like the mounts. Larue has some good uppers, lowers and a nice V-tac sling with their name on it. I just won't sick back and drink the kool aid that Mark tries to give away through all his fanboys. His mounts are solid but fall short from what I would want from a $200 mount. You did bring up Spuhr which for a none QD mount is great. The JP is a good none QD mount also. I have spent some serious time behind all the QD mounts and will call it how it is. As long as people try to push Larue I will always give them a Better mount idea at a better price
  10. Like mentioned above the RECON is the one I use and the one I think would work best for what you need. I know a guy who shoots the same way as you and the RECON is perfect for him. Don't listen to the Larue hype when you can get an ADM and BOBRO for a better price and in the end you get a better mount also.
  11. Bobro are much more expensive than ADM here. It will be between ADM und ARMS. ARMS is a little bid more expensive but not by much. However I will have to put the scope very high as I will be shooting right handed with the left eye. I know I can do it easily with the ARMS but not sure if its that easy with the ADM too ARMS have a weak lever that will break easy. ADM has a mount just as high as any ARMS mount. Between the two hands down ADM over ARMS.
  12. I run ADM and BOBRO mounts they are top notch and have beat the others in just about every torture test out there. I have always had the ADMs return zero and they don't dig into your rails like the LArue mounts which costs more.
  13. I'm sorry for singling out this post, but it's recent and a perfect example of how not to post... Any additional post that approaches this level of rudeness will be removed without notice, and may result in further action. Thanks for your time, and let's remember to play nice, or play elsewhere. You are right my full apologies. I shouldn’t have taken it so far and with what I posted I shouldn’t have posted at all. Glad you were able to use it as a reference on how not to post
  14. Oh god the clones come marching in.
  15. Should be called "Dudes with Dremels, Tattoos and crack pipe gunsmithing." Or "Red Dumbshit Guns" "We Blow Shit Up" "Girl With the Annoying Voice" "Owner Who Knows Nothing" "I Learned How to Build Guns On the Internet" Seriously the AK thing was dumb, they converted the gun to shoot .308 and it even shows black hills .308 ammo on there web site with the gun. Plus the owner must have never heard of the Barret that will cover twice what he said the AK would do. I am sorry but it may be for TV but they have some serious issues. And the whole thing like the japanese ammo was hard to find or something, come on already.
  16. I thought most '1x' variable scopes were like this, although to varying degrees. Most cheap scopes. Check for True 1x when purchasing a higher end scope, there is a big change in the way they work up close.
  17. You shouldn't shoot lead because the barrel throat builds up and will end up blowing your barrel. I have seen a guy shoot lead and it cracked his chamber.
  18. With my KKM I had no POI change with my sights. Maybe I got lucky If you are shooting Open then wouldn't you want a gun that will work well in that division? The M&P is fine but I would do some serious work before going to Open (More than a comped barrel)
  19. Too wide and too expensive. Just get the Dawson. I prefer .090" but two of my guns have .100" on them because that's what they came with. I don't think they are that expensive. Wide they are but more so along the lines of the factory sights. They are one of the only sights though that I know of that work with both, tritium and FO. I think there was another but they were almost twice the amount. I personally like to run a plain serrated back with a FO front.
  20. Get the Truglo TFO with both tritium and fiber optics. They work well and install easy. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/61000-1.html
  21. See this is what I mean you have people like you that don't put everything together that missed what was said to make what you think is a valid point. The questions asked was for a cheap "ON A BUDGET SCOPE" so I told him which ones will work on his budget. I didn't start throwing out scope mounts that cost as much as he wanted to spend on the scope alone. I would like to see anyone on here do a write up of the BOBRO and ADM without all the biased Larue butt slapps and look at the three mounts side by side. ADM and Bobro will always win against the larue setup. I think your post above shows the average Larue buyer, because someone said they were the best I will buy without any actual fact on why or if there is anything better. You are the guy who has never tasted anything but vannila so its your favorite and no others can compare. So next time you wish to post a "quote" why not look at the source and why the comments have been made instead of adding your 2 cents worth. You're right in that he did ask about budget scopes, and nobody mentioned mounts until you started with "crappy" Larue comments. It appears you are the one with the bias. You were asked several times to put up or shut up, and all we got was "real world" blabla. Let's see it. You assume because I stood up for Larue, I'm a fan boy. I sold my Laure SPRE and now run the ADM ScoutX, not because it was "crappy", but because I can get more rail space behind the ADM with it's single lever to add a DD 1* offset off the left side. I almost went for the SPRE without QD levers, but saw the ScoutX was QD and cheaper. Like them both, both are quality. But I don't run down a company in a public forum without backing it up. I guess if someone starts a "Who makes a crappy mount" thread, we know who will be first in line to respond. OP, back to your question. I too started with a DMS. You will outgrow it quickly if you do much of this. I actually tried two of them to get a decent one. Quality can be hit/miss. I tried the TAC30, but just didn't like the reticle. I picked up a Burris XTR14 on the classified, and love it. Recommend you watch the classifieds for good deals. The CMR looks interesting, but have no 1st hand experience with it. I liked my Meopta Kdot too, sometimes they come up for $500-$600 used. I sold my last one for $525. The classic answer for a quality starter scope is the Weaver V3. If you wish to be educated why not do a quick search on Larue products from precision shooters and talk to me about a good product. SOrry if I set my standards higher. I have already done torture test reviews on all three mounts. I didn't start the comments on the mounts that was a response to the person who said buy a larue. I also shoot with a XTR 1-4 and think it is a great scope. The Larue mounts don't have a consistent torque setting The split rings have to be loctited because they loosen all the time, The throw levers mar and damage the rails (this is not grease) after so many de-mounts the maring will change the POI. The split rings block the scope adjustment when behind the rifle. I know there is a large Larue following but in the last three years we have seen better mounts enter the market to buy a what used to be a good mount is no longer the best and at the same cost we can buy better. Larue makes a strong mount that if not being removed off the rifle all the time is a fine mount but at the same costs I can get better. I just won't sit back and let everyone tell a new guy to buy a larue mount when he is for one on a budget and two he can buy better for cheaper. JMHO sorry for the firestorm

  23. Larue mounts are not crappy. They are the best in the buisness when it comes to QD scope mounts. I have never had an issue with any of the Larue mounts I own. They work better than anything else I have tried including ADM and Badger. (I have not tried Seekins and Bobro) Pat Real world tests have proved otherwise on LArue products and many tests done have came up with the same results, there mounts are Not the best in the business! Bobro and ADM are better any day of the week. I would put Larue mounts along side with the new Burris PEPR QD mount. Both do the same thing but after so many times they lose zero. Plus I like ADM and Bobro since they don't dig into the metel when torqing down. Common sense would have to kick in at some point and have people realize that when something digs into the metel it causes a point of shift after a while.
