Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I put 4 dents in 4 steel. At least they were dead center. Still can't believe I didn't notice... I wish I could shoot pistol at steel that well.
  2. Now I guess what they say is true--there are those who have been DQed and those who haven't been DQed, YET. I don't know what I was thinking, but I loaded my shotgun backward. It was 8 steel and 2 Metric Paper. I meant to shoot the two paper and then steel, but I loaded the slugs in first instead of last. So the two metric got bird shot and 4 steel got slugs. You would think that I, the RO or 20 person audience would have sceen it, but no one did and I finished the rest of the stage with the rifle. I'm more disappointed in my self than anything, it just sucks because that was the last real shooting chance before the new year.
  3. I have what used to be a 930SPX and it has always been 99.9% with over 15k rounds now. I've had one stove pipe in it's entire live and that when was when I was trap shooting for the hell of it trying to make some quick money. I basically removed all the SPX parts though. I put a 24" "Edna" Non-Ported Barrel and a + 4 Tube for USPSA Limited. But, I did shoot about 500 rounds through it when it was an SPX though. Before I shot it for the first time I followed everyone's advice and cleaned the HELL out of it before before shooting it and never had one problem. Mossburg puts some THICK grease in it from the factory. I prob clean it after 2 or 3 tournaments every 200-300 rounds which is prob overkill because I've never had any problems and am lazy about lubing it between tournaments.
  4. Picked mine up today. Paid $705.00 off of gunbroker + $25.00 FFL transfer fee. Also if you haven't heard it has already been listed to the Production Gun List http://www.uspsa.org/rules/production_list. I'll be shooting it tomorrow in my local USPSA tournament. I shot about 100 rounds through it this afternoon, and it shoots great! Also the extractor on mine is silver compared to the rest of my XD and XDm which are black. Don't know if they are different or if mine just wasn't painted?
  5. This happened to me twice last month. The first stage I said f-it and just shot through irons and then five stages later I took the time to reach up and turn it on, probably costing me quite a few seconds.
  6. Not sure the model number, but call 18003633555 and ask for Edna. She'll know exactly what you are talking about. I ordered the 24" non ported, with fiber optic sights and a skeet choke, but she'll give you what ever choke you want. It's 180ish including shipping.

  7. what model number was that barrel that you ordered for your 930? I know you said it wasn't ported. Did it come with any chokes? I've had mine for about a year now and want to get a new barrel for 3 gun. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  8. Just put it together and shot it today, can't wait till the next month! It's the 24" non ported direct from Mossberg. I also put a Chote +4, Nordic Clamp & and an extended improved choke. I'll be using it strictly for USPSA limited so I built it for 8+1. We shot 100+ bird shot and 20 slugs through it this afternoon and it functioned flawlessly. But, I have all these parts left over? Prob worth a couple bucks in scrap?
  9. Don't feel bad. I did it twice this weekend! I'm starting to believe I need a written check list. Why I turned it off after the first stage I do not know?
  10. I'de rather not send it to more than one place, I was just going to get it done while it's at Springfield. Why would you choose one trigger weight over another? Should I choose the low end or high end?
  11. I have an old 2004 XD Service that I am sending back to Springfield next week to get recoated under warranty. I just started shooting USPSA Production with it 4 months ago (it was strictly home defense and somehow I got interested in competing?) and don't know a lot about trigger work, polishing etc. What should I get the custom shop to do while it's there? I'de rather not spend a lot of money, but have a spare 200-300 to put towards it if someone can convince me it would be worth it. I'm actually starting to understand the long trigger pull, but they offer 3-5.5 trigger weight, what would you choose and why? Has an extended mag release helped you? Help me spend some money!
  12. ^^^ I'm not that quick witted, but that is hilarious!
  13. Okay, thats what I thought, I don't view this as training at all. It's all sport to me.
