  1. Mark, I am going to switch back to the stock spring and work with it. You shooting BW in Dec? I probably will.
  2. Does anyone, shooting a Mossberg 930 JM, cut their Mag Tube Spring? What length? I still have the uncut original spring but am currently using a Wolff Spring and cut it some. Just curious what everyone else is doing.
  3. Thanks for the pics guys. I have a better idea of what I want to do now. Thanks again.
  4. I am wanting to open up my loading port a little more on my Mossberg JM, especially around the follower. Does anyone have any pictures of the JM with this done? I have looked through the forum and have not been able to locate any. Thanks
  5. I use an ACOG 4X32 and use a 300 yd zero, with Hornady 75 grain Steel Match. I hold at 6 o'clock for anything 100-200 yds and center at 300. Most matches I shoot only go out to 300. Makes it pretty easy for my simple mind.
  6. Frog Lube all the way. And the wife likes the minty fresh smell.
  7. After some thinking and talking with buddies, I have a feeling it was partially me not having a firm hold as you mentioned. It would happen when I was transitioning from target to target and I probably loosened up on it. I did shoot 50 rds of Federal Ammo today, 3 dram 8shot 1300 fps and had no issues. Thanks for all the replies.
  8. I have had rounds not completely extract and the next round trapped on the lifter. Kind of like a double feed, but the expended round is out of the chamber and on top of the next round. I shoot Winchester Super Target (heavy target load) 1200 fps. I recently went to a wolf spring and cut it about 4 inches. It only happens occasionally, but cost me about 15 seconds on a stage in my last match, and again today when I was practicing. I clean it regularly so it wasn't that dirty. Am puzzled and have a match this weekend and don't want to drop points because of a gun issue.
  9. Take a look at Barnes Precision Machine. www.usamade-ar15parts.com. Barnes makes quality uppers and rifles and his prices are great as well.
  10. Sounds like Crye Precision, big $$$$$ but very nice! Yep Daniel Horner wears Crye Prcecision, and they are pricey. I am lucky that the company I work for buys us those pants. They are very comfortable, and practical. However, if I did not get them for free, I am pretty sure I would wear something else. I like them though.
  11. I use FrogLube on all metal parts as per their instructions, then apply the liquid FrogLube on places that have wear from friction on them. Base of the bolt, and the top of the bolt. At the end of a shooting session, I will disassemble my 930 JM and wipe all the parts and apply liquid FrogLube on the same areas.
  12. Finally received my 930 JM today. Got it home disassembled, cleaned off the oil and put on Frog Lube. Ran a box of Remington 8's and a box of Winchester Super Target 7.5's had no issues and would have shot more but wife made me come in and eat dinner. I was pretty impressed can't wait to shoot it more tomorrow. Reloads were pretty smooth too. Awesome!
  13. Did you try Brownell's? They usually have some. I am getting low I had better place an order if it's that hard to find.
  14. I knew that sounded something like Joe would do at Cavalier. How did the hip shots from the AK come out?
  15. I bought extended springs through Brownell's at the same time I bought the extensions. The Brownell's part number is 078-000-168 High Cap S&W M&P Extra Power Mag Spring. I have had no issues with the mag extensions or the springs. Only had them a couple of month, but have put hundreds of rounds with them.
  16. Can the one way screw be tapped out and the safety be replaced? Still waiting to jump on a JM when somebody has them in stock, so I can't see what you are talking about, but it sounds like an easy change.
  17. The mag base pads look like Arrendondo Base Pads. I have those on my magus and are great.

  19. I use the JP Polished buffer spring along with the same set up you have, and have had no problems.
  20. To answer my own question above, as well as add some photos of my "rig": The rifle scabbard is a pretty tight fit for an AR with a scope. I've attached a photo showing an 18" rifle about 3/4 the way into the scabbard to demonstrate this. So I purchased the scoped rifle scabbard (A2SS). It holds a 24 in Benelli very well. Feels secure and doesn't feel like it leans off to the side while walking around. This pack is a Gunslinger 2, pretty close in size to the Phantom, based on the measurements on the Eberlestock website. Steve I can also highly recommend Santana Outdoors if you wish to purchase a pack. Free Shipping! +1 on Santana Outdoors. I ordered an Eberlestock Lo Drag from them. They have awesome customer service. Not only do you get free shipping you get free gift when you order a pack.

  22. I have worn Converse Chuck Taylors when I was active duty. If they got wet, they dried quickly, had enough ankle support, fit in my fins, and was good in rough terrain as well as comfortable. Great shoes for a great price. The only problem is they tend to stink. They come in various colors as well as all black.
