  1. Magload are a great company that create solutions for us shooters. His products are really well thought out and work. He shot and competed with a super nova for years. Plus his loading belt kit is awesome and Conners is such a nice guy and is dedicated to our sport. The Magload team have just spent the last three days at a show in the UK promoting the sport without any promotion of their own kit - that's dedication! I won't take away from King as their gear is good too. Which ever way you go, shoot well my fellow pumper!
  2. I know this is resurrecting a very old thread, but are these plans still available? Many thanks. Mick
  3. When you use the pump enough you will start to rack the gun immediately after taking a shot. Let this happen - if its your last round, still load on an empty chamber, then load the gun with your chosen quantity of ammo, bring the gun up to the shoulder and double tap the shot! Obviously the first shot will be on an empty chamber, but this will unlock the action so you can carry on. This takes the time of one extra shot which is usually quicker than loading one in the chamber.
  4. I shoot a Supernova but have the but pad from my M2. This pad has had quite a bit of use and is showing its age. The smooth surface has worn on the top and is gripping as I re mount after reloading. Can anyone recommend a paint(?) that can be put on to allow it to move over my clothes without gripping as much. Please bear in mind that I am in England, so getting any specific "but pad slip paint" from a gun store won't be an option. Thanks in advance for any help. My best regards from over the pond. Mick
  5. I have no issue on trigger weight for shot, but with slug this weekend my trigger did not feel nice! Is there anything people would recommend on a supernova? I am not worried about split times, just thinking for the more accurate slug shots. Thanks for any help. Mick
  6. Pat, PM'd my thanks. If you are at the shotgun world shoot in Italy this September, tap me on the shoulder if you see me as I will gladly buy you a beer! Mick
  7. Whilst I would enjoy a visit over to the states again, I think it may put me in the bad books with my good lady!!! Thanks anyway for your help. If anyone could be a bit more specific without involving a trans-Atlantic crossing that would be helpful too! Many thanks. Mick
  8. AP Customs shot shell carriers – screw/thread size I have ordered some of the AP Custom shot shell carriers but, due to lack of availability, I have had to order a style different to those I actually need. The ones I wanted were the QL/8, but I could only get hold of the QL/8C (which is where all 8 are next to each other). When I get the QL/8C I want to alter them to the same design as the QL/8 so I will have to make my own backing plate. As these plates are drilled and tapped I will have to order a tap to suit, but as I am in England I will have to order the tap in as I only have metric sizes available. Could anyone let me know the thread sizes of the screws on the shell carriers as I will need to do this work as soon as they arrive (or before), and I expect them in a week or so. It may take me some time to order the tap as well so if anyone can get me the info asap I would appreciate it. I have emailed AP Custom/Rhino but have not received a reply yet. Thanks for your help. Regards Mick UPDATE:- These have just turned up so this is now urgent - if anyone can help It would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Guys, my sincere thanks for your experience and wisdom which you are kind enough to share. If you are ever in the vicinity of a bar near me I will gladly buy you a beer. My thanks. Mick
  10. Can anyone recommend a light modified choke for my supernova and where to get it from. Thanks. Mick
  11. Roxy, slug varieties are not always in great supply in the UK,and also would prefer the gun to take any ammo type i can throw at it. It occasionally light strikes on bird shot too. Steve i believe that thr s&b do have a slightly harder primer, but they shoot well from my guns so would prefer to stick with them if the spring is available to handle them. I hope someone has ideas of an alternative. M
  12. I have had light strikes with my supernova when shooting some brands of slug (s&. I have heared of others with the same issue, with the thought being that they have slightly harder primers. Is there a replacement spring that will help with this, or is it a case of just replacing it with a stock one? Any help would be appreciated but stock numbers and where to get them will be agreat help. Thanks. Mick
  13. Light strikes with a Supernova. I have had a few light strikes with a Supernova and wondered if there was anyone else with a similar issue? If so, what is the way forward? The gun is not very old and only had about 2000 rounds through it. Thanks for any help. M
  14. Can the SBEII be a reliable competition gun, or are they just not as reliable as the M2? I presume the moving parts have further to travel with it being a 3 1/2" chamber. Could this create issues with a lighter load? M
  15. Kurt/Trapr, My M2 shoots slugs just fine, my SuperNova is a different story! My Supernova will not hold any kind of point of aim with the mag clamp on. Now this is not a case of shooting high left or high right, but more a case of high left THEN high right and THEN somewhere else! I now shoot it with no mag clamp, though even then it does not seem as accurate as the M2. I don’t know if this is because the gun does not shoot as straight or that I don’t shoot the gun as well. Is this something you more experienced guys have come across? I just wondered if this was a related issue with the Benelli pump! Kurt this is excellent work you have been doing and thanks for sharing it with the rest of us. My best from across the pond. Mick
