  1. Well, for me, since I'm still very much a beginner in the sport, I'm going to start out with goals of moving up to a higher class, and then when I reach that point, I'll re-evaluate my goals. Enjoying what I'm doing is always my MOST important goal. Mike
  2. We certainly enjoy having him at our local matches, thats for sure. Good guy! Mike
  3. Just try and get back home in time to shoot with us at Oakwood! Mike
  4. Carina, Fry's has them on sale just about every Friday/Sat/Sun. Snag the Fry's ad out of the paper on Friday and check out what's the 'sale' of the week. I got a good deal on mine. My DVD burner was like 85 bucks....... Sony/Plextor/couple others are top brands. Mike

  9. Lee's son is a very well mannered, polite young man and ALSO an excellent shooter. Kudos to Lee for doing a fine job raising him. Most of the youth shooters I have met are very polite and friendly. That's whats great about shooting sports.......... Mike
  10. I have a match calendar on my website that may be somewhat useful to you, as well...... check out : http://www.etexshooters.net/matchcal.html Mike
  11. Not sure if this will help, but start with this: http://www.uspsatexassecnorth.org/ That's the list of the DFW area IPSC matches, and then there are plenty more in the "East Texas" section, too. http://www.texaseastsection.org/ As far as the cowboy action thing goes: http://www.cowboyactionshooting.com/pages/...ches.html#Texas Good luck! Mike
  12. If you need in two weeks, that makes it easy. Call Comp-tac. You'll have it in about 4 days after you order it. Enjoy. Mike
  13. How much space & bandwidth do you need? I've got some webspace available for smaller stuff, if that'll help...... Mike
  14. http://www.etexshooters.net/index2.html Not sure if that will help, but it does give some info re: who does what & when....... Mike
  15. Everyone at that match is always friendly, helpful, and polite...... and more than willing to give tips to newbies! I feel very fortunate to be with such a good group here in Area 4. We had a good time..... and of course, the catfish afterward made it all even better!! Mike
  16. I've got several, but here's the most recent one. I shoot a G34 ( which takes the G17 mags) and the better half shoots a G19. She shoots ahead of me, so I pick up her mags for her.....stick one in my pocket, somehow, someway. My turn comes to shoot....... well, needless to say, when you do a mag change and use the WRONG mag, you just have a bad day. Took me a couple tap/rack/bangs to realize I had put the 19 mag in the gun. I now color code bottom of mags to attempt to avoid this. Mike
  17. True, but he'll tell you I get the award for the best magazine bobble and recovery from last Saturday's steel match. He got a good laugh at that one!! Mike
  18. Check out the Bladetech molder holster combo deal they have currently running off their website. http://www.blade-tech.com/frontend?command...ProductId=53865 If you don't mind spending a little more, check out Comp-tac stuff.....quality stuff, you can't go wrong. Hope that helps! Mike
  19. Mike C. does indeed do nice work. Next time I talk to him, maybe I'll mention to him about contacting Brian and getting set up with a forum here. I'm quite sure Mike wouldn't mind a little more business. Mike T.

    G17 Or G34

Well, for what it's worth............ I just did this EXACT thing this past weekend. I gave up my G19 to my better half, and chose to go with a 34 over the 17. I shoot CCI/Blazer thru my guns, no troubles. As far as the difference, the extra length of the slide on the 34 "should" give ya a little edge on longer range shots, plus it already comes with the 3 1/2 lb. trigger, ext. mag release, adjustable sights, etc. Either are fine, but I went with the 34. Keep us posted on your decision! Mike
  21. It's a good OS..... pretty user friendly, and has pretty good documentation and user support. If you want to get your feet wet first before dusting your Microsoft OS, I'd highly recommend running a Live CD/DVD version of Linux for a bit and see if you truly will like it. SuSe has one available, actually. Mike
  22. I'm one of the oddball people who LIKE it hot. It was a fun match. Looking forward to our next one already! Mike
  23. I was lucky enough to be at a match this weekend where I got to meet several members of the Enos forum who I hadn't had the pleasure of meeting before. We had a great time, the Texas sun was nice and bright, and everyone is top notch. It's a pleasure to associate with such fine folks!! Mike
