Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I purchased a new 34 and it happened to be through a Police Supply store so it came with the 5lb connector. So I knew the first thing I had to do with it was get a 3.5lb connector which I did. I also purchased and installed the Wolf Competition Pack. After getting all these springs and connector installed without polishing (I figure that I will polish a couple thousand rounds down the road) I was impressed. The only question that I have is why the heavier trigger spring I am sure it is logical I just can't understand it? It has the lighter striker spring which I can understand becuse the spring basicly compresses while it is being pulled to the rear. I also understand the lighter plunger spring less of a downward force so to speak. Now far as the heavier trigger spring I called Wolf and the Rep. really couldn't explain it to me. It is heavier there fore it pulles the trigger forward after the shot to the reset point?
  2. I have heard mixed reviews from these company's. I need a holster "ABSOLUTELY" no later than 2 weeks. I will be using this for USPSA competitions and would like the best I can buy. I was also told that Dave Severins sp? now uses the COMPTAC instead of the Kytac what model does he use? Also I can't figure out the best model for my needs on the Comptac? Please help I need to get this holster ordered today. Thanks
  3. YEP...I am in the same boat as you are. Let me go out on a limb here what "GLOCK" do you have 22,23,27 or 35? Anyway what load are you using? I just purchased a 22 and I am planning on using a mild load of 3.5-4.0 tightgroup with 165 Berry's in Win brass. The question will be how long will you want to risk a case faulure. I am planning on only using this brass at the most 5x. I am also looking into a KKM or Barsto barrels. The KKM looks like it will be a drop in fit and a little less cash so this is probably the one I am going with. Ough yes and this bulge is due to your unsupported barrel.
  4. I have my Dillon dies on hand and my RL550 is ready to go. Now I only need to go and pick my brand new Glock 22 up. However after reading many postes on this site and others I am getting paranoid about reloading for it or at least reloading my fired brass numerous times. My use or purpouse is to load practice rounds in either 180gn or 165gn. I should clarify practice rounds as self protection/duty rounds. I will be sticking with Hodgdon Tightgroup powder due to having a lot on hand. Unfortunatly Hodgdon's site doesn't list a load for the 165gn bullet. I figure I will just work my load up to about 800 fps? I wan't a mild load that isn't going to overwork my brass. I can't afford a new barrel right now so what are my options. Toss the brass which I don't want to do after any less than 10x fired approx? What are your thoughts. Also what should I look for after many firings of this brass is it obvious or do you guys have to take a caliper to measure the brass to a certain point, see if fired case will fit in a case gauge? Or will it be obvious as to split cases and or something else obvious? Thanks ahead of time.

  6. Ok I got my Chrony now and I can finally chronography some loads. I am trying to figure out a format to make on my computer that allows me to make this easier. What does everyone use the most SD, Extreme Spread, or do you just average the velocities. This is all new to me please help me out. I am thinking about plugging all this info into a spreadsheet which will include my drop chart.
  7. Thanks guys I just heard that Lee dies were supposidly better. I would rather stick with dillon dies anyway I love my .45 acp. Thanks
  8. Well I have a 550 that I purchased for Brian great guy and awsome press. I have only had this press for a few weeks so I am still getting used to it but I have loaded a lot of .45ACP rounds for my Glock 21 and this press works great, I have been using Dillons dies also. What Dies does everyone recomend I have seen some complaints about Dillon's Dies on other boards however I haven't had any problem with my .45 ACP dies I think they were mainly based around not fully sizing the brass for unsupported chambers but this is just a guess? I will be loading for a S&W 686 PP in mostly .357 mag, I guess I don't see the benifits of loading for .38 in this gun but maybee lower recoil, the dies should work for both right? I am a little new to pistol reloading so any info would be greatly appreciated. I will be probably using the same powder "Tightgroup" for these loads and maybee Berry's bullets I can get them for a good price.
