  1. anyone have one of these they could take a few pic's of the back side of itI have one on the table tacked up but I can't for the life of me get it to operate 100% Mine turns and drops either all the way or not at all depending on the length of the shaft that goes over the center guide rod I have decided without a little help from someone who actually has access to one i will have to scrap it until i see one first hand
  2. Urban myth. The "lack of case support" in a Glock barrel is one of those things that a lot of people just "know" is true. Examine the barrel of your Glock. Compare it other barrels. You'll find it offers just as much case support as they do. Glock has fixed that problem to some extend, I have noticed that there is a big difference in a factory barrel and KKM chamber diameters Glock chamber is lose and sloppy allowing the case to rattle around, Glock did this to increase functionality. A kaboom is most likely a double charge or an obstructed barrel, people that shoot a gun and never clean it are lazy asses and deserve what ever come of it. It's like driving your car and never checking/changing the oil in the end you will spend the money you think you are saving.
  3. The season just started now it is over

    Bullseye

NO it breaks at 2lbs some get into it just like USPSA, a Rodney Toyota wad gun will cost exactly half of what a S_I gun will run and shot sub 1in 50yds group to boot

    Bullseye

In Bullseye accuracy is the first item you want to check off your need to do list If your revolver isn't capable of sub 1.5" groups at 50yds out of a ransom rest you will need to find one that is then start to tweak it to your liking if shooting factory ammo this will get expensive as match ammo will almost be a necessity. bullseye shooting 95% mental and 5% trigger control (that is if the gun is capable of sub 1.5" groups @ 50yds)get the trigger done first then shoot it for awhile and then mount a 1in ultra dot on it and never look back I shoot a Colt 70 series and a ruger 22/45 w/ ultra dot in my local bullseye league It will improve your strong hand only shooting immensity
  6. As per D4-21.5 it is an allowed "internal" modification and would be allowed as long as the gun met rule requirements set fourth by D4-18
  7. your choice really either a 200 or 185gr swc, swagged bullets preform better at target velocities than do the hard cast I shoot a 200gr swc over 3.8grs of clays or 4grs of bullseye
  8. not really a no no, it'll just cost you a little time depending on were they happen. if you shoot to slide lock and then move to another array it is a mute point as you aren't shooting while moving anyway might as reload on your way there slide lock or not
  9. i'd use a dremel to grind and polish it off!
  10. NV conducts an annual review to determine what states have "substantially similar" requirements. The reasons are all covered in the original post with the NRA article. UT was taken off the list since that license can be obtained without any live fire in the training. FL was taken off the list since they expanded the validity period from 5 years to 7 years, and was thus no longer "equivalent". Got my first CCW while living in Utah I did do a live fire, the state left it up to the instructor weather or not to require it. In utah if you own a gun and can prove you use/carry regularly you can teach the CCW class. Now it's like hosting a Tupperware/Mary Kay/Pampered chef/CCW party. they even serve green jello It is of no ones fault but Utah's for letting unqualified people certify that other unqualified people should carry a gun I went to one with a buddy just to observe and it was a joke compared to the one I took from a certified LEO instructor, some of those ladies and men couldn't even insert and remove the "clip" (so they called it) from the firearms that the instructor brought with him. In fact there wasn't a single person who even brought their own gun (it wasn't required). Instructor - "Here (hands client gun) remove and re-insert the clip into this gun" 80% of the Students "uhhh ok how do you do that, what's a clip?" I since have taught several of these and if they don't bring their own gun they get their money back and a "have a nice day". first line of our application is "This isn't a firearms handling class if you can't handle your firearm please sign up for our "basic firearms handling course." We will be happy to help you in making your first firearms purchase after you have an idea of what it is all about. We even make them pay for & pass the background check (nonrefundable) prior to coming to the CCW class. No sense taking it if you can't pass the check becuase I don't want to hang my ass out to dry so they can pack a gun. If at some point I or one of the other instructors (2-3) decide that a student isn't being safe we will excuse them from the class with a full refund. Hate to be a dick but someone has to
  11. I think you should add the Lyman guage to your equipment. It will accept a full cartridge without the chamber length constraints of your barrel. Other calibers are available. yup if the loaded round passes the gauge test but fails a chamber test it is probably the OAL if it were the crimp it probably wouldn't go into the gauge. they are worth every penny
  12. I just bought a drop in kkm and am happy with it I had to shorten up my reloads a bit to get them out of the lands but the barrel head spaces well and shoot good too
  13. that all makes perfect sense, weather or not it is the only way to skin the cat I don't know? I don't use the expander die AT ALL just a powder funnel all my reloads case and chamber gauge just fine I don't get any leading so with that said the whole process you explain seams redundant and not needed for the average shooter/reloader If we were shooting high power rifle or silhouette pistol that process might be necessary everyone gets into the minutia of it all to some extent or another. For me if it goes bang, hits the target and cost's less than factory that is as far as I let it go thanks
  14. There is also a part number on the package, mine also says "match" but the part number is #G35D1 which indicates that it is a drop in barrel with a "match" chamber Part# G35D1G would require a gunsmith to properily fit it with a finishing reamer, this barrel probably wouldn't head space correctly without this fitting in addition to the other problems I believe it is the larger dia of the lead bullet (.401) and the long OAL that was the cause of the hiccup a cartridge loaded with a lead bullet with an OAL of 1.115 works anything longer and I start to see were the bullet is engaging the lands. I don't see that with jacketed or plated bullets seated at lengths of 1.145. those are also .001 smaller than the lead bullets. I didn't try to sand bag the gun It shoots good enough free hand I didn't think it was warranted
  15. Final determination was the bullet was contacting the throat/lands I had to run it into 1.115OAL the rounds now "chamber" gauge without a problem where as before they would gauge in the case gauge but not in the chamber
  16. No I ordered the drop in, I was beginning to think I may have gotten the "match" (gunsmith fit) but a little online reading lead me to believe that the oversize lead bullets (.401) not seated far enough into the case (loaded long) could be the culprit. We will see I had some other reloads that had 180gr hp xtp's loaded to the same length and they drop right in and come right out. which again lead me to believe that something had to be holding the others out. I gauged some of them and they all drop in the Dillon gauge but not 100% into the barrel. I also pulled on down to see if the brass itself would drop in and it did, another indication that something was holding it out now to test the theory
  17. I just got the barrel yesterday, dropped right in and boy is she a shooter 2.5-3in group at 25yds most of the shots ended up tearing a golf ball size hole with the rest tailing off to the left a hair "to much or to little trigger finger" only problem is that I will have to shorten my reloads a little bit 20-25thou (currently loading them to 1.150) not a problem when I shoot to SL but when trying to unload and clear the gun in between my strings I had problems getting the loaded cartridge out My reloads would drop 95% of the way in the chamber but need help for the last 1/16th of an inch. I painted one of the bare lead bullets with a marker and dropped it in and helped it in with my thumb, upon removal I could see where the bullet was engaging the throat holding the round out from going into full battery. shortening the rounds to be 1.125 as the book calls for should put the part of the bullet that is engaging the throat down into the case enough for it to not be an issue anymore I hope!
  18. any Idea of the hardness of the bullets you are shooting???

    Glock 34 or 35

you will be shooting "minor" in limited with the 34 you will need a minimum of 40cal to make major in other words a Glock 35
  20. Mine went down this afternoon, it is now just flopping around in there and doesn't extract but about 50% of the time I see that midway can special order them and doesn't look like brownells carries them anyone know where I might be able to find one and not have to wait 30days for it like at midway? Thanks Added I have the older model sp2340 with internal extractor
  21. I have a colt government model Mk4 70s right now it is set up for bullseye with a ultra dot on it, the scope mount was notched to fit around the factory blade front sight rear sight has been removed. I want to set this gun up to shoot single stack There are so many sights on the market I don't know which one I need or which one will fit the slide without having to have it modified. I'd like to put some sort of adjustable rear sight on and replace the factory front with a hiz sight of some sort Any ideas OH YA and mags I will need mags too I have 3 colt 7rnds are there base pads that will convert them to 8rnds?
  22. I don't notice the smoke the RO ussually does I am loading 4.0grs of clays and keeping them at 1.150 and get about 925fps on average I can get a few more fps if I load them shorter 1.140-1.135 3.6 grs is the minimum load list for CLAYS in sierra's 5th addition
  23. they can although they won't be very successful in the long run I shoot at a private club in which I am a member and we allow non members to shoot for an additional 10 bucks a day "range fee" verses making them join
