  1. I got a call today to a village in my county. The complainant stated kids with matches were starting fires on the old mine dump. The mine dump is a giant slag pile left from a mining operation years ago. The pile is covered with trees and thick underbrush now. I got to the village and had to park about 1/2 mile away. I had to clime a fence and start my walk. As I approached the base of the dump, I could hear faint voices of children. Yes, my keen detective skills have paid off. I climbed the first steep bank and heard someone talking. The boys were in a dry creek bed below me. I listened to them talking and using curse words to tease each other. One boy was right below me and was asking his friend about a rope. I asked what he needed the rope for and the look on his face was priceless. I met four of the boys in the creek bed. They appeared to be around 14 years old and two of them were carrying a cooler (yes-victory). I asked the boys what they had in the cooler and they replied, rocks. I looked in the cooler and found three large rocks. I asked them what the rocks were for and they said for a fire. I told them that was why I showed up. The boys took me along the creek to the rope. The rope was a old garden hose attached to a tree 30 feet up a second incline. We climbed up the hill and took the other three boys by surprise. I found a second cooler at their campsite, I knew this was the alcohol. NO, I was denied again. These boys were having fun outdoors, exploring and spending time together. What is going on, no drugs or alcohol? What do I like? Finding seven young men having fun outside, reminding me that all kids are not bad. These boys made my day and restored my faith in people (a little bit).
  2. Can you describe the "patterns" shape in more detail? be Thinking about it today and I would say almost like the shape of butterfly wings at one point but merging or seperating. Kind of like when we were in school/science class and watched cells or what ever split. It reminded me of seeing oil on water and changing with the waves or the current. I was watching this standing in complete darknes, then my wife bumped into me on her way to the restroom. She asked me what the hell I was doing and it was gone. LOL
  3. At our shop we have tried virtually every hand cleaner known to man and as of right now the cherry Zep has proven to be the most popular. I have used the orange cleaner for years after reloading, but I'm going to find some cherry Zep and try it. Thanks, Pat
  4. I saw patterns that changed shape. They appeared smoke like or kind of wavy. The color was dull white/gray and kind of reminded me of a changing ink blot test. This is what I saw today at 4:30 A.M. in a room with no outside light. pat
  5. Welcome to the forums
  6. My request for consideration, I just started shooting USPSA this year. So far I haven't shot many matches but did make it to Area 5, Area 3, IL Sectionals, and the MI Sectionals. I haven't done the best, but have had a great time. I included before and after photos of my Kimber along with some other single stacks. I just got the blue Gold Cup in a trade and have not decided if I should keep or sell it. The Kimber will be going to Canyon Creek next month for a trigger job and other minor work. Thanks, Pat

  9. Hang in there Rob, I know how you feel, most of the time when I get called people are at there worst. It may be the situation they are in, finances or personal issues. I'm called to help and make a decision. The decision I make, does not make everyone happy. You have to do what you know is proper, you can't make them all happy, but you know what is right. Pat
