  1. I'm in the middle of packing all my gear. Should be in NE around 2 or 3, 7 1/2 to 8 hour drive. I Can't wait to shoot on Sat. and watch a bunch of good shooters. Should be a lot of fun, I hope to improve on my past outings and learn a little bit while I'm there. Good Luck All, Foilhat
  2. I have a 14" rail from SWS. I don't know the weight, but it feels lighter than My 2pc mid-length rail from MI.
  3. If the range is covered in brass, pick it all up. Get your cases and sell some brass to buy more for your gun.
  4. I need to talk to my wife first. I think she should send me to this class as my Christmas or anniversary present. I hope Christmas comes early.
  5. Welcome to the forums. If you plan on going to a match to watch first, take your gear and shoot. Every one on the range or these forums are more than happy to help.
  6. The star will be for my own use,$660 shipped sounds like a good price. Thanks for the help.
  7. I have not had any problems with my reloads during practice. After reading on this forum, I started gauging all of my match ammo. I know it's a pain, but I do it when I can't go out because of the weather or I just have a little free time. The match ammo is then set to the side. My practice loads and match loads are the same, but I have been using up my Wolf primers for practice ammo. I haven't had the malf you speak of yet, but I'm sure my days are numbered.
  8. 040 red for me. I ordered green also when I got the sight, but have not tried it yet.
  9. I carry a Lt Wt Commander when I'm not working. I use the Tucker "The Answer" IWB holster. I couldn't be happier with it. It is very comfertable and hides well.
  10. Welcome to the forums. A 10.5 LMT would be nice, stuck with a 16
  11. I was thinking about buying a shooting star and would also like a plate rack. Rangemasterrowdy.com has a star for $840 and a large plate rack for $551. I would probably get the plate rack first and wait on the star. Shipping on the plate rack is $150. Does anyone know of a place to buy these items closer to IL? Range Master is located in OK. Has anyone used the star from this company, or could you suggest one of similar or lower price? Thanks for any help.
  12. Will stages be posted prior to the match or are they going to be a surprise?
  13. Thanks for the replies. I think I will strip it every couple thousand and field strip after every practice. I have done a complete job twice since posting the question. Once was the first time, after shooting 6-8 K. I just did it yesterday after about 2K of practice. Not as dirty this time .
  14. I have not had any problems with S&B brass, but I don't get that much of it. I may have 100-150 mixed in with 5000 pieces of 45 brass. I did have some *I* marked brass that does not gauge the best after loaded, I have been tossing the *I* brass when I find it.
  15. I bought some primers at a gun show this past year during the primer scare. They were the only ones I could find and I was about out. When I got them home I noticed the dull tarnished look. I figured the guy had them sitting around for a while. I loaded them up and they shot just fine.
  16. I have made two purchases through the classifieds on this forum. Both have been great and very quick to respond. Thanks TRNinTX and 3gunnah.
  17. I am shooting on Saturday, squad 47. Stop by if you have time, 47 has a few shooters you might want to see. I was just looking at my days off and I have four left to live fire before the match. So far I'm just looking to improve from the last match and have fun. I can't wait to see some of the top shooters in action. I'm sure glad my wife took a girls weekend during this match.
  18. Nice display, looks like you have put a lot of time into your hobby.
  19. I only know a few involved in shooting sports/matches. About half of the guys I know are hunters and have good skills with long guns. Covered Mag. holders and level three holsters stink and the cars get smaller while I get bigger. I think we could all use more trigger time, but shrinking budgets do not allow it.
  20. Thanks for the link, I will be watching them all tonight.
  21. If you go 3 gun will you change & up grade your press? @ Mattmo ain't nothing like the new press smell! @ cabela's I seen the classicLNL on sail and I seen it also with the ready to load stuff all you might have to do is probably get your dies and powder tumbler media sifter or rotating cage polish gage calipers... Orrrrrrrr! You can get the Never loaded befor" package for about lil over 1K ! But I'm sure you read the faq's! I was thinking about a 550 or 650. I have all of the other stuff (dies, swage, tumbler, sifter, gauges, and calipers). For the most part I load for rifle in the winter when I have the time. I would probably keep loading pistol on the SDB if I got the 550 or 650.
