  1. If you pick up a used square deal for under $300 you will be able to resell it for 100% of what you paid for it down the road if you decide to move up to a 550 or 650. These things never lose value after the initial depreciation hit of not being 'new'
  2. With either the pro or L you will end up doing trigger works. I would buy the one you get the best price on. If you can live with 4" check jet guns and buds.
  3. How hard are Winchester primers? Will they function in a revolver with lighter springs?
  4. That is much nicer than the Apex sear, which breaks farther back. Might have to send my gun off to Dan. What was the total cost, including shipping it?
  5. Can you post a photo showing how far back the trigger travels? I have the APEX parts in mine, and the trigger still contacts the stop.
  6. Pay attention to your trigger reach. If the large backstrap makes your index finger almost straight when on the trigger, it's too big.. I started with the large, but went back to medium.. Did the same on a glock gen 4.
  7. I've read it several times on various forums, so it must be true.. Yes they are cheap when in stock.. Problem is that they never seem to be in stock.. I have an order in with botach for 3. Maybe one day they will arrive.
  8. I had a hard time seeing the green FO sight at a night match. I'm starting to think maybe a thin black FS is the way to go. Adjustable rear is probably overkill my use, because I plan to constantly shoot the same load, and once you set windage it should never change.
  9. This is one big negative about the M&P vs Glock. Magazine availability. Glock mags readily available for under $25.00. M&P mags are impossible to find, and when you do, they are over $40.00 I hear one of the issues is that they are made in Italy. I am surprised one of the aftermarket mag companies hasn't jumped on this opportunity.
  10. Do you feel confident owning a digital scale only, and not having a beam scale to check it? I guess thats what a good set of check weights are for, but I can see owning both types.
  11. I picked up a used square deal B. Would have preferred a 550, but at the price, couldn't pass it up. It's nice to have 100% confidence that I can resell it one day for what I paid (or more). Right now I just need to crank out a bunch of 9mm ammo. Not really shooting anything else, so this should do the job.
  12. Almost never saw these when living in Colorado, but in the Phoenix area, seems like 1 out of every 5 vehicles is a big truck or SUV.
  13. Moving to Phoenix last year I noticed that way more people here drive these idiotic lifted trucks. I'm not talking about someone who has a large truck to pull their camper, or maybe actually has a farm/ranch. I'm talking about your living in the suburbs moron who commutes a jacked up F350 to work everyday, and thinks he looks cool. Hope you're loving the gas bill these days.
  14. Which model M&P are you looking to get mags for?
  15. Awesome forum, great group of riders who are always willing to help a rider out, or even a dog.
  16. I'm lusting after the 1200GS. The 800 would be better offroad, but I also want to be in "Goldwing" mode for long multi-week touring.
  17. Sometimes you can get a neighbor to sign for you, and leave a note for the driver.
  18. I seem to encounter this one frequently. The best example was recently buying a used car. I knew exactly what car I wanted, year, model, make, color. I had cash, in hand, ready to buy. I found one in Craigslist, fairly priced, and called on it. Spoke to a female seller, asked to come see the vehicle. She gave me the whole "Well, some guy called before you and he might come over and buy it tonight.. blah blah blah" I told her, "I will come give you cash right now", but nope she wanted to show it to this other guy who called first. I went and found another one, bought it the next day. Inevitably she called me up a few days later saying that her first buyer didn't purchase it and asked if I wanted to see it. "Nope, sorry, bought one, good luck with your sale" When I sell guns, reloading equipment, whatever, I will not "hold" on to it for anyone, unless we agree on a deposit. Whoever puts the cash in my hand first wins. Won't hold it until you get off work that evening, if another buyer comes along that afternoon, they will get it.
  19. I shot my G26 in IDPA for a while because it was the only gun I had, then picked up a G19 and started using that. Was planning on picking up a G34, guess I've gotten into the "gaming" of it, but ended up buying the 5" M&P pro.
  20. I don't know about making the M&P trigger as good as any 1911. You can make the trigger very nice, but you can't remove the pre-travel and maintain the internal safeties. A good 1911 has almost no pre-travel. I have an M&P pro with the full Apex kit and RAM. It's very nice trigger.
  21. M&P with Apex parts feels better than any Glock to me, but part of this is the trigger face itself. I prefer the smooth trigger on the Smith vs the Glock trigger with the safety that sticks out a bit even when pressed fully.
  22. I was using my 19 Gen4 for IDPA, and carry. Stock trigger, played around with the the 3.5 connecter, NY spring, but ended up going back to stock for now. I've recently switch to an M&P 5" pro for IDPA, and a G26 for EDC.
  23. My G19 Gen4 has the 03 spring, and I haven't had any problems. When I first picked the gun up, I stored it with the slide locked back for several weeks. I also purchased a bunch of 124gr 9mm swiss ammo from ammotogo.com This stuff is hotter than the cheap 115gr walmart stuff. That said, I also did buy some of the cheap federal champion walmart ammo, and did not have any problems with it. No plans to swap to the 04 spring at this point, but may call them and ask for one just so I have a spare spring.
  24. Are you sure your information is up to date? Budsgunshop has the 5" pro and the M&P9L for the exact same price. I have not been able to find the 9L for less money than the pro in online stores, and the 9L is hard to find in stock anywhere. I would by the pro given that the price is identical to the 9L online. If you find a 9L in stock somewhere local for less, buy it.
