  1. I'm not sure if he sells them anymore, but henning's grips are right between the two. They are perfect size IMHO. Is he still making these?
  2. Yeah seriously I' have a newer stock II, It will not chamber my 135's if I load them much longer than 1.100. I understand that the older stock II's have a more forgiving chamber.
  3. I've run close to 20k through one my limited tanfo guns in 40. I've exclusively used this projectile 185 gr RNF http://www.precisionbullets.com/store/ I've had great luck. Little to no moly build up. Excellent projectile, and highly consistent diameters.
  4. I went from a G34 to a Stock II and at first it felt like transitioning to a cinder block but the more I've shot it the more I've grown to enjoy the Tanfo platform, so much I got another one. I have a lot of friends who shoot CZ's and no debate that the CZ trigger can be made lighter in DA but I'd rather the ergonomic feeling and balance of the Stock II than a pound less off the trigger any day. But with all the knowledge from the Tanfo experts on here (atlas, cha lee, nealio etc) you can make the trigger nice on your own. I'd say shoot it some more and of course if it doesn't grow on you then you should have NO PROBLEM selling it;-) It's odd you say that. I've have a stock II done by jim bodkins. The Double action on the guns is MUCH better than any cz I have played. My buddy has a cz done by angus, and one by mink. The double action my stock II blows them away, smooth and consistent. Where the cz's get an edge on my stock II is the single action. The cz's are a little crisper, where my tanfo is a little squishy.. I mean don't get me wrong it's still awesome, just a little more spongy.
  5. Only if you are using crappy bullets like Berry's. I use a pretty good crimp on my Xtremes and have for the last 25,000 rounds in 9mm, .45, and 10mm. No problems EVER. Not all plated bullets are created equal. I wouldn't run anything except Xtremes or Rainier, but the Rainier are softer, so they may be more finicky on crimp than the Xtremes. Guess which plated I tried then gave up on... Berry's :-P. How consistent is the diameter of the Xtremes? My only issue with moly's is that they hate my bullet feeder, if plated would work in the feeder that would give me reason enough to switch I think.
  6. You don't need that firing pin block anyway.. You do if you want to legal for production.... or is this a limited gun? So it may not be the previous that did this to your gun. When I got my limited BNIB they had dirlled the sight dimple to far and it broke through the slide. get hennings front sight, make your own dimple in the middle GTG, easy fix.
  7. Hey not for 115, but I have a recipe for 135gr bayou's 3.75 gr's of 231 COL. 1.100 pf= 130-132 I Really like this load. I'd avoid the plated bullets. Any over crimping always ends up with bad accuracy, it's hard to get the crimp right when you are running range brass, as the case wall thickness varies.
  8. How come you took off the slide release? Slide relealses are a crutch... pro's don't need them... if only I was a pro... ;-P Henning sells a replacement cross piece that is harder then the stock slide/lock cross pin. I had heard tails of the stock one deforming over time.. so I just upgraded to the henning cross pin. Occasionally when I when load really long my rounds would catch the slide lock and prematurely lock it open. (This was solved with new mec-gar mags), but I figure rather than grind down a perfectly good slide lock, I'd just use the pin. I really don't miss the slide lock. I rarely if ever run my limited gun dry.. so it's not really an issue.
  9. I can get 21 in ONE of my 5 mags, all the rest are 20. I load my mags to 20 and they are reloadable, I don't think 21 reloadable is really feasible for me, but aren't tuned... they are just factory mags with the basses added.
  10. I don't know if it's COMMON, but the ONE modification I always make with my limited guns, is a henning firing pin and removing the firing pin block. With a reduced hammer spring, and the henning firing pin, I can use cci RIFLE primers with no problem in limited 40. It's an easy fix.
  11. Jesus Christ Atlas... that's a ton of Tanfo.
  12. Presentation:10 Composition:10, Variety: 4. ;-) Nice
  13. Thought I would share some of my amateur photo's with you folks. My production gun. My limited gun with ghetto yellow skateboard tape grips My Limited backup match/base for .22 conversion trainer. I hope you folks Enjoyed it. Yes the stock II is in 9mm. The trigger was done up by Jim at shooter ready and is amazing. I got my unicorn.
  14. Sorry man just trying to help out...
  15. Look what I started, so much confusion. I still don't have a definitive answer on the LSPA block. I did send my gun of to jim and it turned out very well. As neolio mentioned my hammer spring was TOO long.
  16. Just an fyi I guys I see there is a stock II in stock at buds. Only catch is caliber she's in 40. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_231/products_id/411549156/EUROPEAN+AMERICAN+ARMS+WITN+STK2+40SW+4.5+HC+15 GLHF.
  17. My setup is basically all the same for pistol 1. U-DIE 2. powder with lnl powder funnel expander. 3. Bullet feeder (or empty more recently because my feeder hates moly) 4. Seating die (Prefer hornady) 5. Lee FCD I visually inspect each case's powder but if I sell my bullet feeder I'll get a lock out die for sure.
  18. I've run a u-die in 9mm/40/45acp with an fcd for all, I've never seen any accuracy issues with moly coated projectiles. I have noticed that depending on case thickness sometimes the fcd will swage moly projectiles a little. This is visible when you pull them. This used to kill my accuracy with plated bullets as it would cut the thin plating. With moly it seems like a non issue. My SD for 9mm is always like 3-5 fps, and my gun shoots crazy tight groups at 25yards if you take me out of the equation. I'd only avoid the FCD with plated rounds. Otherwise good to go.
  19. I've used both their 180 in 40, and their 135 in 9mm. Both work great. No hesitation recommending the 180.
  20. I used the big HF vibratory tumbler, it's worked well for the last few years. I can almost put a medium shipping box of 9mm in it. Works like a boss. http://www.harborfreight.com/18-lb-vibratory-bowl-with-liquid-drain-hose-96923.html
  21. 1. I'm assuming we are talking about normal clays here not clays universal. I tried my hand at using clays (Shotgun powder) once with .45 it didn't end well. Much like you I had consistency problems. I polished the inside of my pistol rotor and that helped quite a bit. I actually got best results with clays using the RIFLE insert and rotor. The Flakes for normal clays were so large they were bridging and binding up on the pistol rotor. I eventually gave up on clays because it was finicky as crap, and didn't meter well regardless of what I did. YMMV
  22. I came here to parrot exactly what CHA-LEE is trying to explain. You extractor is preventing the case coming up correctly on the breech face. I had the exact same issue with a 45 conversion kit. Went through exactly what you are going through. EXACT same malfunction. I tried to fix it by screwing with COL, bullet type everything. I finally sat down and noticed how loosely my Limited's extractor held the cases compared to how tightly the .45 conversion held them. Here is how I fixed the issue. 1. I radiused the crap out of the bottom of the extractor. 2. I polished the crap out of the extractor. 3. I took some material off the edge of the extractor (I would recommend lightening the spring instead). Now it runs like a champ. Listen to cha-lee he know's what he's talking about.
  23. Mods I'm an idiot. I now see there is an entire list of stages at the top of the forum. Please delete my shame.
  24. Hey guys, I've been running my local club's 3-gun matches the last few years. I'm starting to run out of good original ideas for stages, and I'm finding myself with less time to do stage design. Are there any good online repositories for 3-gun? I see some for uspsa pistol, but none for multi-gun. Anychance any of you could point me in the right direction? ~Thanks Greg.
  25. It's a case of goldilocks stock grips are too fat... eric's grips are too skinny, hennings grips are just right. I actually just sorted this out. I remembered I had an extra set of henning's installed on my tanfo match, they were actually actually for a stock II, but I had made them work for my match, by radiusing the inside edge. Swapped them over to my stock II this evening. I then filed down my the match's plastic ones... added some grip tape, and everything is right as rain. I'm still curious as to whether or not henning is still making grips. Maybe I'll give him a call tommorow
