  1. HI Ya, I have tried to use my new Beretta 92FS in a few steel matches. However after 10 years of using a Springfield XD9 I find it real difficult to start with the safety on as the range officer requested. Is that necessary? Or am I legit to start hammer down in double action mode? much obliged, Max
  2. as far as i know it the 1050 IS a Commercial machine! as such Dillon only warranties for one year. check it out. the 550 is lifetime warranty no matter who owns it. I have 2.
  3. Hi Ya, Guess what? the LGS where I bought the scope had a set in his personal stash. I got them for next to nothing. But thanks for your input.. P.S. his gunny will install them free of charge. (I am a member of their range.)
  4. ok, so i bought a cheap scope. 1-6 24 SPF - Kiss by Primary Arms. oh i said that. anyway so far the recommendation is for a 2" cant 30mm rings, but decent ones seem to be $80 or more. its like putting gilt on a pig. All I need is something to function, no QD just put the scope on. Maybe $30-40. does that exist? Much obliged for any intel.
  5. My go to sources in reloading methods are guys with many years practical experience. One was second only to state champion in Bullseye shooting. This is his advise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hi Ya, i never considered emptying the hopper and didn't know it discolors the hopper. anyway never a problem on my 550 nor my 450 Dillons. Of course I am in SoCal where it rarely gets humid or wet. Oh, its humid today!. well i have one of those vibrating battery Gillette razor handles attached to hopper.
  7. ditto> both places great to work with. Max
  8. Makes me smile: years ago, maybe at your recommendation I slugged one or two of my 9mm's and found them to be .3555". I don't remember which ones now. Point is i have several and want to simplify things. I shoot 100 x9mm for every 6 x .38's. so for me to have to stock two different ones and reset the press is a pain. Current supplier of 124 gn Truncated Cone Moly's are .3565". It seems just right both sizes to me, any opinions? as always Much obliged, Max
  9. Jako, appreciated. I generally use 124gn Moly projectiles. But I will consider your response. Much obliged, Max
  10. I saw some on eBay! Cheaper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. ya know, i borrowed a friend's barrel and shot same groups. basically i have TruGlo night sights combined with FO front and they are not as accurate as my old black target sights. I am older, but I am sticking to my story.
  12. hi J, you know what; i better stick to two diff diameters. as i have several different 9mm and a couple of .357's so i can't differentiate. much obliged,
  13. Jack, yes. I loaded some .357 mag bullets using .356 projectiles. at the same time i realized that my Blackhawk Convertible comes with two cylinders; one .357 and one .356 (9mm). I haven't seen any variance in groupings between shooting the two. I used to think the .357's were more accurante out of the Blackhawk however the groups don't show that.
  14. My Dr. has me go to a lab. i go regularly to regulate high blood pressure anyway. p.s. the blood lead level is because of lead styphnate in the primers
  15. HI, I think my last batch of .357 magnum bullets were made with my 9mm 124gn .356 projectiles. I didnt notice the diff. how about you? or should i use .357 projectiles in both?

  17. Jack, outdoor means steel competition. So no way to know. Indoor was when I did our little match using 8 1/2” x 11” paper with difficult spaces. Sort of dot torture types. Since when the target sights in XD broke and main steel match died I installed Truglo; good but not as precise. I didn’t expect to get back into steel but here I am. I may look for a new barrel. Much obliged. Max.
  18. Johnny, that is amazing insight. Much obliged. Max
  19. Ballistol for me. It’s German made so should be there in France. Guns too valuable for all this other stuff.
  20. Hi Ya Cold, I’m sure your right. Oil is Ballistol. Fiber optics didn’t do much either. I should have sent gun to Cajun or CZC. Anyway using CZ for steel requires me to use manual safety which slows target acquisitions. I think I’ll switch back to my XD9 Tactical. CZ fine for paper indoor matches. They are sorta like bullseye. Much obliged, Max
  21. Are they hollow point also? Not sure but I don’t think HP cycle as well as RN in my guns; CZ75, 92FS, & XD9 Tac. In my comparisons FMJ didn’t do better than Plated. Or for that matter Moly either. (I’m equally handicapped). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
