  1. Angelo, i am going to skip the deep clean for now that i have been reminded that the 'hold open' is only with a mag inserted. although i can't remember the last time i totally disassembled the CZ75 i dont relish doing it right now. i will keep what you said about the bag. i have spare parts collected from just such experiences. p.s. the range in Henderson free cleans one gun with each paid fee in their sonic cleaner. I may wait for that. much obliged,
  2. Bubbala, i suspicioned that also. thanks for confirming.
  3. 11,600 rounds. now safety doesnt hold open without a mag inserted. And i cant remember last time i did a detail strip. is that it? or should i look elsewhere? usually i note break downs but now that i dont do steel competition any longer i am left with a little indoor practice and a once a month Huntington Beach fun competition. Truth be told i no longer remember how i did the detail strip and tore this gun down. much obliged, Max
  4. yes. and Dovetail does affect the parallax. a lot. i am not sure what i am going to do with it. i could still mill the slide. now that i had the old target and fibre optic sights cut out i need a new solution. although milling is one, i am not comfortable yet with the Meprolight red dot. I have another on a Ruger 22/45 which works well, some parallax issue. and a Trijicon ACOG on an AR15 no issues. the debate goes on ...for me at least.
  5. Two good reasons discussed above however there is a third in favor of Meprolight: the sight can be swapped independent of the mount easily. Mepro is now developing separate part numbers for mounts. i want to use same sight on Glock and other guns.
  6. sooo, i just bought a Meprolight; comes with a mount that is also a self-illuminated backup night sight that provides a clear aiming point in case of power failure with that glows brightly without requiring batteries; night sight when the red dot is removed. ingenious. also i spoke to Mepro and they are developing part numbers to offer the mounts separately: i will be able to buy that part (if it is priced right) and put the optic on my Glock and other pistols.
  7. Good thread, i am considering a red dot on my CZ75B SA right now. CZ Custom might be the right choice for me also. I was hoping to find a inexpensive red dot as I only do a once a month casual shoot at an indoor range; shoot and go eat and talk about it. no prizes. Some retired Boeing employees and me.
  8. HI Ya, trigger not too light, but i have gotten double taps occasionally AD; it never bothered me as the matches were only time based, and of course at least one hit per target. however light strikes do happen also. she probably would be better suited with a new factory gun. i have a Beretta 92FS that is stock. difficulty with that gun for a relative novice is dbl/single action, manual safety means larger learning curve.
  9. HI Ya, I am just bragging; now 22,770 rounds thru my XD. I did a lot of steel competition with it; just a fine gun. now my daughter likes it and i am inclined to give her it. however the trigger is 3 1/2 lbs; is that too light? she likely will use it for home defense.

    TSO trigger problem

Great, I hope you put some dope on it to make the screw stick; i use nail polish.
  12. Additionally, I had always gone with the less crimp the better. However now that I do the ‘plunk’ test I find that more is better. It doesn’t break the surface of the moly or plating. tomorrow is my next test; I shortened all remaining 200 rounds to 1.275” also.
  13. lo and behold: after reading i find my cartridges dont all pass the plunk test. re crimped and re-seated, (not in that order) next trip Wednesday
  14. ok, so i re-crimped 200 rounds or so. Once i determined that more crimp did not break the plating/ or moly coating. And now i have only one failure to go into battery out of 50 rounds I fired. Better but no cigar. I am going to look at the link from 'Dude' now.
  15. For right now I re-crimped 30’rounds of my homemade; both the plated and the moly’s. They seem to fit chamber checker better. However with comments from OP: dude I’m going to try with the barrels again only loose.
  16. i will clean the chamber and throat now; since you mention it. but I used two different barrels and that alerted me to the problem. No I should put some thru the checker now, these I have left.
  17. hi Pert, OAL is stated above. I thought that if they were long my chamber checker would have shown that. And I tried them with two barrels; my Lone Wolf and the factory Glock, same story. Besides its only a few of every batch of 100. and Yes i have loaded around 6,000 for this Glock over the years. Now i am addressing this mostly because I had all three types and both barrels and lots of time at the outdoor range with a simulated Glock match set up with my friends. Any ideas?
  18. So tomorrow is Glock match. I do have enough factory bullets but ? yesterday we short practice. Neither my store bought plated Berry’s nor my Bear Creek Moly 200 gn would go into battery 100%. oal is 1.244” and 1.256” ; diameter is same throughout .470" p.s. don’t ask me for pics my Photobucket is full. much obliged
  19. Won’t reset. I can’t upload despite having eliminated photos down to 165 of 250 allowed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. my county CCW permit restricts carry to 10 rounds. That in addition to the ban statewide. I hear that if caught they will be considered a nuisance and confiscated; big deal
  21. Hi Ya, deal on gun fell thru. But you are right. Much obliged, Max.
  22. Pacific Durachrome is now part of Hornady. the dies are: 1A- sizing (for .38spl) A-decap and expander 3A Seater But I am not sure i can adjust these to both work in my Dillon 550 and to fit the .38auto cases??
  23. yup, what i have as 'extras' are Pacific Durachrome .38 spl steel dies (probably belong in a museum . expander/decap other two are no. 1 A and no. 3 A?? probably not a good set for my Dillon RL550. Much obliged,
