  1. Kirk, did you end up opening up your gas ports to get the Remington managed slugs to cycle? I'm also working on a franken-bolt handle. Starting with a Benelli bolt handle mated to a stock cz bolt handle. Having a guy cut and weld it. Will be posting some pics as soon as I get it back...
  2. This thread was posted by ccw, looks like they only make them currently for the 4 shell strippers: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=132013&st=0
  3. I'd vote Gen 3 as well. Just picked up a gen 3 34 myself.
  4. Yeah, I think the best course of action is to keep it Production ready. Based on the scoring I'm not accurate enough yet to hit A's on every target, therfore I'd suffer tremendously in Limited minor. Looks like sights, tape, stainless guide rod, 13# spring, and a vanek trigger later on. I'll skip the magwell, and the trigger undercut on this one. I do have an XD 45 that I don't shoot much that I may sell to turn around and get a 24 or 35 to play in Limited better. Still toying around with that idea. @Braxton - Thanks for your advice as well. I've got a couple of 3gun matches under my belt but still very novice in competition. My accuracy suffers on pistol the most. Good reason to spend money on ammo and practice.
  5. I've shot some matches with my CZ and couldn't be happier. The gun did well. The only issues were MY issues and nothing to do with the gun.
  6. Think most of the people getting 930's are getting the field model and chopping the barrel and rethreading for chokes. I believe they are doing just that for under the price of the spx. Then get an extended tube and you're ready. You then can add other mods as you set aside money, all without breaking the bank or going over budget.
  7. Guys, Thanks for the info. Patrick, you're probably right, rather than focus on one division, practice is practice. Think I'll just spend the money on ammo and go from there.
  8. All, I recently picked up a new G34 (gen3) that will be used primarily use for 3gun but wanted advice on which USPSA division to practice with. I plan to make the following changes in this order: Immediate: - Warren/Sevigny competition sights (plain rear, FO front .245) - Stainless guide rod, 13# ISMI spring - Tru-grip - Dawson heavy magwell - I already have 5 mags, 4 with Arredondo +5's Future: - Vanek trigger (not sure which one) - Undercut trigger guard, big hands I'd think Limited minor would be ideal just because I'd be using the same setup in 3gun therefore practicing with the same setup. Do you practice pistol only in Limited minor, or take off the magwell and shoot production? Looking for pro's and con's of doing each?
  9. Just give him a call. He'll build it however you'd like I'm sure. Just tell him what division you are interested in and how much your budget is. He might even have better ideas on how to spend the money, who knows.
  10. Just bought a gen 3 34 this evening. The gen 4 doesn't any features that I can't live without. Very happy with the purchase. Gen 3's are solid.
  11. Not sure on the time. Give him a call. He's always willing to help.
  12. Using Search-Fu there are quite a few threads in this forum going over the work Benny has done, think there are pics too.
  13. Benny Hill at Triangle Shooting Sports in Corpus Christi, TX has done a lot of work with those.
  14. Not sure how wide the stock one is. I know dawson, springer, and canyon creek are selling the .100 width that guys are using for competition. Might not be a bad idea to call them, tell them what you want and they will be able to help you out.
  15. McGlock, What tip did you use to do that? Do you possibly have pics of the tip? I was looking to get the same type of surface. Thanks.
  16. Fellas, I was in the same boat as you, but them came to the realization that Gen 3's are proven and noted for their dependability. I would rather buy something that I've shot and know will work versus something that I've heard may or may not work based on reviews.
  17. Had a great time and really enjoyed the stages and format. Thanks to those of you who were behind the design and setup, and who took care of everything. This was my first match...had a blast!
  18. That must be for the secret bonus bump fire into a refrigerator stage. Winning team is the one with the highest amount of dust particulates in the air after 60 seconds from all the dirt kicked up.
  19. Two last questions...I swear! 1. I have a .45 pistol to use, is a .45 ok for the targets used in this match? 2. When is the round count usually posted?
  20. Stealthy Blagga, Is new shooter registration at 7am or before that? Thanks, Ryan
  21. Midway was out when I looked. Did find them at cheaper than dirt. Thanks.
  22. Where are you guys finding the Federal low recoil slugs? I can't seem to find them.
