  1. Guys, The Hi-Vis comp sight is nice. Its got a larger bead size which makes it easier to spot on shots. Bead comes off and it screws on. Don't forget a little red loctite. On the mag tube I run a +5 as well and it sticks past the barrel. No problems to worry about there.
  2. I found a good way to get it out. Assuming that your right-handed try putting the butt of the stock on your workbench, pull the spring assembly down while holding the gun with your left hand until the holes line up between the bolt and bolt assembly. Take a pair of pliers and like sschultz said pull hard and wiggle back and forth. Nordic's handle goes in and out relatively easy if you plan on using that. I tried everything else though, even tried using a vice but nothing has worked as well as this.
  3. For those of you out there that thought about trying the Nordic bolt handle I vote to pick one up. Put mine on and very happy with it. It's not like the typical Nordic handle. Very smooth and large. It sits nice and close to the bolt and barely clears the receiver. Thanks Nordic!
  4. It looks like a Hi-Vis competition sight. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31lkJs1QI2L._SL500_AA300_.jpg
  5. You can always do what I did and get a Nordic +5. It sticks about 4 inches past the barrel and allows for 9+1. 8+1 at make ready, load another after the buzzer, and the ability to reload 10 on big shotgun stages. Shot doesn't hurt the mag tube at all. A lot of guys do this with all different guns.
  6. GunCat (forum member) is the guy you are referring to. I would imagine he could work on the CZ stuff as well. Here's his URL: http://roseactionsports.com His prices were very reasonable.
  7. I had to take a couple of matches off recently but will be shooting in a local match this next weekend. I'll let everyone know how it goes. So far most of the problems I endure in a match are not the shotgun's fault. Its the wobbly owner of the shotgun on reloads.
  8. Pretty interesting. Especially video #4 and the BBIS device. Never heard about that..
  9. + 1 on the B&P. They are very soft, believe they are 1200FPS but they are soft shooters and super accurate out of the CZ.
  10. Kirk, Besides the super light birdshot it would be interesting to see how these springs work for some of the powder puff low recoil slugs like the B&P slugs. I really liked the poa/poi with these but there wasn't enough umph and caused FTE's. If this spring would allow these to function properly I'd be game for one.
  11. Have you tried the Federal Truball low recoil slugs? They are still low recoil but have a little extra umph to get the spent shells to eject properly without having to open the gas ports. I've been happy with how they shoot as well.
  12. Thanks for the info. So who is going to be the next guy to grab 6 at a time?!
  13. Thanks Clint. I've seen those others. Just wanted to make sure this setup was the same.
  14. Mark, With the twin system, when you pull the two shells out at a time, what is holding them together? Is it the caddy that keeps the shells together, then they are loose once you pull them out? I tried to take a look at Patrick Kelly's at smm3g but he was too busy and I didn't want to bug him.
  15. +1 on what Kirk said. Any chances humidity is the issue and you have any condensation buildup? The 3m pad and some oil ought to free anything up.
  16. Are there rough edges on the inside of the piston? May take some 3M red steel wool and go over the inside of the piston and also the action bar. Just get them smooth.
  17. actually be might be angry in seeing beer bottles. How about whiskey bottles instead...
  18. Yeah CZ customer service is spot on. I dealt with them to get a spare bolt handle and told them what I planned to use it for. They gave me a free one, some free o rings and shipped it all free. Apparently they are doing something right. The demands for their guns is up and the prices are following.
  19. I would say to go for it. I bought the VFZ spr-e for the same reasons you are considering. The mount has been on the rifle for two years and I haven't removed it once. The little wrench comes with it. It would take less than a minute to remove if ever needed. I removed it at first to adjust it.
  20. I've heard of someone breaking a hammer too but CZ-USA took care of it.
  21. I do local stuff only just like you. Rules state no more than 9 rounds before the buzzer goes off. I purchased the +5 so I can load 9+1. So after the buzzer I can load 1 more, then on reloads I can reload 10. All personal preference. I have a 20" barrel and my extension sticks out about 3" further than my barrel but that isn't an issue.
  22. horseman, For what it's worth I had those same plastic shavings but no malfunctions of any kind. I realized the shavings made the forend choppy underneath in places .I took some 150 grit sand paper and smoothed the choppiness out. That may be an idea to try that and retest. Then do post a pick if you can catch the doublefeed.
  23. Guys, To be honest I've really had no reasons to lighten my springs. For the past couple of matches I've been running the cheap walmart #8 value pack federals for the birdshot and the Federal Tru Ball Low-Recoil slugs. Everything is pretty light in the recoil department if you ask me and I'm happy with the POA/POI of the slugs and never have any FTE's or anything. Really at this point once Nordic releases the bolt handle I think I'll be completed.
