  1. The episodes seem to get worse as they continue. I don't understand why TV producers seem to think that they have to add drama to a show in an attempt to get people to watch it. There is such a thing as so called reality TV without all the nonsense. I'd really enjoy a show that focused on a group of quality gun builders and let the audience follow their builds and the customers they build them for. They could focus on competition, hunting, and other shooting sports. I don't know these guys personally but the producers make this group out to be hillbilly wannabe special forces type guys and gals. It all starts with their fake storefront. I'm done with Sons of Guns though. Next season, if there is one, the Producers should consider selling the program to MTV, and give us something good to watch...

I'm far from an expert on what to get/what not to get. Between the USPSA.org site and this forum you can get a wealth of info on the different USPSA divisions and also what works best for you based on equipment. I'm glad I did so because I would've ended up in Open division, getting creamed, and really not having fun had I went with my original plans. Instead, I'm starting with a Gen4 G34 (once I can get one), no mods other than sights, shooting Production. After I do this for a good couple of years I may look into other divisions. Did you say you're already shooting Production with your XD? Btw, my longer term goal is to shoot 3gun. Starting with Production to get minimal equipment, education on the rules, sorting out the best equipment to use, etc.
  3. Outerlimits, I'm drinking the kool aid. Same routine with the AR upper he built for me. I supplied the $$, and I've shot the snot out of it since. He definitely does some good work.
  4. Benjamin, All 3 are in the vendor tent within the forum. They'd be able to answer any questions I'm sure: Powder River Precision: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showforum=188 Springer Precision: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showforum=160 Canyon Creek: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showforum=92
  5. ...compact and lightweight. Coming in at a mere 17 lbs. Can you imagine lugging that through a couple of stages?! Wonder what market that was created for?
  6. Ryan, Do those breakaway coasters allow you to get them real tight? Did you notice if they slip at all?
  7. Outerlimits, Did Benny by chance give you a list of what he's going to do for your build? Did you get the 930 from him?
  8. Looks good. Thanks for the posts.
  9. Looks very good! It will be good to see the updated pics. I have one of these on my list. As far as polishing the trigger components was it pretty easy to tell what places required the polishing or did you get some pointers from someone? If it's not too much of a pain could you include a quick pic?
  10. Lookin' good, love mine too. Just waiting to get a mount for it....I've been slacking!
  11. One for the 930 is posted on NC's site: http://shop.nordiccomp.com/NC-Speed-Bolt-Operating-Handle-for-Mossberg-BOH-MB-12-00.htm
  12. Anyone know a good place to pickup new or used factory P-12 magazines? Looking for 12 rd mags. Thanks in advance.
  13. I'd definitely buy bigger than you need. I bought the biggest I could afford. I bought it through Cabelas. They provided delivery as part of the price. Glad they did because I watched two BIG guys struggle to get it into the house and into place...and they were using the proper tools. You may ask the retailers if they have any scratch or dent sales. They still warranty these completely. I bought mine at a scratch and dent sale. It didn't have any dents and I had to get a flashlight out to see the scratches. Got it for about 40% off retail.
  14. Just curious, what is your budget? I purchased a Liberty safe. I've not only been happy with the construction, durability, and security built into the unit itself but I'm also extremely happy with both the warranty and the customer service.
  15. Thanks guys. For some reason I haven't seen the advertisements on Discovery in AZ. Is it supposed to air on Discovery itself or one of its affiliates?
  16. I just got mine in the mail yesterday. I haven't had a chance to mount it on the rifle yet however I can say just by handling it that it's very sturdy. In my case the on/off switch works just like it was mentioned in this thread (Burris added a little note in the package explaining how the switch works differently now then it did when it first came out). I'm very impressed with not only the reticle (with illumination on and off) but also the field of view. The FOV is also very nice at 4x. It's definitely a true 1x in my opinion. I'm definitely glad I waited and did a good amount of research. I'd have to say that MarkCO's thread is what got me going this direction. Thanks Mark! A lot of scope for the $300 mark.
  17. I read on a press release that this is set to premiere on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 10:00 p.m. ET. Have you guys heard anymore on what the first couple episodes will entertain us with?
  18. Midway has some promotion codes mentioned in MarkCO's post from a week back where you can still get them for $300. I believe those codes are good until the 29th of December.
  19. Thanks Mark. Based on previous pics you posted I think I have a pretty good idea.
