  1. I think it makes sense, considering most people in the sport nowadays either get a Dillon or a Mark7. Everything else can fall under "Other Reloading Equipment".
  2. I was wondering about that also.
  3. General question ... for Prod and Carry Optics, do people generally prefer lighter guns? I know B.J. won both divisions with a Glock, but guys like that, at that level, can really shoot anything. Are guns like the PDP Steel frame and Shadow 2 not optimal? If you were picking out a new gun, what would it be?
  4. I have a 617 inbound, but I don't know anything about 22LR. I know it will be barrel dependent, but is there any ammo I should definitely consider? Any I should absolutely stay away from? Thanks.
  5. I would pay the extra $50 for the shrink factor of the Garmin or Labradar LX.
  6. At the moment, the Garmin can only export one string at a time, correct?
  7. Which do you think has the better phone app and interface? That is one of the deciding factors for me.
  8. I haven't seen any reviews. I don't think they are available for the public until end of March / early April.
  9. Saw a Shot Show video of the product. Looks about the same size as the Garmin unit. Same price also. More info on the LabRadar website here.
  10. Anyone shoot pins? The discussion in a recent thread that touched on pin guns got me thinking ... if you were to build a dedicated pin revo, what would it be?
  11. Check out WRB. Althought not exactly the same layout, they have a mini-range bag that is similar. And it's made in USA.
  12. Is there any advantage now to the Dillon RL1100 if the Apex is selling at around the same price? Unless I'm missing something ... a RL1100 w/ caliber kit = Apex 10.
  13. Yes, same bullet. One thing I didn't notice before was the barrel lengths used. Hodgdon's notes a 7.7" barrel vs Hornday's 4". I will start with the lowest load like Guy suggested and work up. I will just watch the chrono. I'll be interested to see what the results are so I'll have a better idea of which book to grab first when working up any future loads.
  14. I'm trying to work up a 38 Special load for Steel Challenge (so PF not important). I have 4 different Hodgdon powders and a bunch of Hornady 125gr FP/XTP bullets on hand. When I look at the Hodgdon and Hornady reloading manuals, they seem to have differing suggested powder loads. For example, for 231 powder, the Hodgdon manual has: Starting Load: 4.3 gr Maximum Load : 4.9 gr OAL 1.455" while the Hornady manual has: Starting Load: 4.8 gr Maximum Load : 5.7 gr OAL 1.450" I would expect some differences, but not that much ... especially with the Hornady loads having a shorter OAL. So my question is, what should be my method for choosing the range of loads to try? Thanks.
  15. For the life of me I can't get my SDM sight to install on my 627. Anyone know a trick that I'm missing? I've installed other DX sights, but this one seems impossible. I think because of the length of the actual sight. My fingers are tore up!
  16. I found one not too long ago. Didn't come with an aluminum case though. Is it a factory case?
  17. TK Custom makes a short extended cylinder release that is similar in profile. I think they are relatively new. Might want to take a look ...
  18. Of those powders I have W231, Titegroup, and Unique. Much appreciated!
