    EK

I figured, I should start logging my progress, so here it is. I am now at C class in USPSA Production division and trying to work my way to A class. Recently picked up some speed on medium distances and now need to slow down a bit to get my points back. Also work on my target acquisition (on video there are few moments of hesitation). Hopefully that will help me to go trough the Area 6 match next week. Right after Area 6 will be a postal shotgun match and I am also working on my weak hand reloads...
  2. I am shooting all day Friday! If anyone want to split a hotel for Thursday night or need a ride to/from Orlando please PM me.

  4. Linda, is it too much to ask if there is enough GMs in Production division for a qualifier match this year?
  5. Registration for the match is now open. More info can be found on the match web site at http://ipsc-ont.org/2011/nationals/ Here is a great write up on bringing firearms to Canada.
  6. As it already been mention registration for IPSC Ontario Provincials is open. More info can be found at http://ipsc-ont.org/2011/provincials/ Roy, thanks a lot for a most comprehensive write up on bringing firearms to Canada. One last thing to note that in Canada it is illegal to own magazines that hold more then 10 rounds. So, all your magazines should be designed to or permanently locked for 10 rounds.
  7. At a quick glance it seem like you are indexing between targets mostly by pivoting at your shoulders. It is faster to pivot at your knee level to keep gun sights aligned to your eye. When moving, keep your gun at the eye level, so you won't lose time on bringing it up. Keep shorter paces when shooting on the move and can also bring gun bit closer to reduce rocking of the body. On stage 4 when leaving from the left side, you could step out of the shooting area to push yourself harder to direction where you were moving. Helps to keep with explosiveness of transitions between positions.
  8. Please do that! Every time I drag the sidebar, I also accidentally move one of the sliders in the preferences.
  9. One thing worth to add about CZ trigger hard to reach. There is 3 different trigger factory curve profiles been used on CZ. Lately factory been using thinner new more curved profile, which not everyone likes. Personally I had to replace it to less curved old trigger and CZ-Custom came up with similar profile but easier to reach trigger. They sell both parts off their web site. http://czcustom.com/supplyandinstalltrigger.aspx
  10. Can't agree more about hard to get classified in USPSA for the foreigners. Also not having GMs in Production division at a major Level III match doesn't help with that either. But I guess they have to do what they have to do, e.g. not having a Glock 34 in IPSC Production list made some of them switch to Limited/Standard division for the World Shoot.
  11. Great match indeed! Thanks to Frank, Manny and all the match staff. Special thanks to ROs on stage 7 on Friday, Dave and Jim, for giving me a ride at the morning. It was also good to see so many familiar faces from all over the world.
  12. You can try to contact USPSA office and ask to upgrade your membership. http://uspsa.org/uspsa-contact-us.php
  13. If you need to reload without case feeder, you could still insert an empty case to the first stage but it won't be as fast as inserting it on original case ramp. You can also put the original ramp assembly back, but it will probably take half an hour to install.
  14. The yellow brick RUready and CED timers used at the matches are quite loud. Another thing I wonder if it would be better to move start button to the top? Then it would be easier to push it with the thumb. Also, instead of separate start and end buttons, you could have one button that would just change its function and label and maybe also color (green to red). Also, perhaps show the last time in a bigger font on top and then scrollable history in reversed order below it.
  15. Great app! Thanks guys! Couple ideas for improvement: * reverse the list so, the last measurement is always on top, so you won't have to scroll trough them * a neat feature would be to start measurement by listening for a beep from another timer, i.e. "spy mode" * make a standard android "back" button work as exit button
  16. Does anyone by any chance flying to Orlando on Thursday and want to share a rental car?
  17. RO normally would prohibit such gun position as an unsafe. I am quite certain that IPSC rules give RO such power.

    Czechmate barrel R&R

You need a staple (ones from a staple gun will work) or a piece of wire shaped like L. Take the slide out and then tilt the barrel off the slide grooves and fully compress recoil spring. In a space between compensator and slide (close to the slide) you will see a small hole on a guide rod. Put a staple in it, it will hold the recoil spring compressed. After that you can take the guide rod assembly out of the slide and unscrew compensator.
  19. What powder you are looking for and what caliber you are going reload? There is a few stores around. I shop in Hamilton area. AIM Projectiles for bullets, Hummason Manufacturing in Ancaster for powder and primers. There is also couple places where you can get reasonably cheap reloads for .40 and 9mm.
  20. Maybe the grip is not big enough for your hands. The palm of your weak hand should be touching the grip on a left side and neither of the thumbs should be touching the frame (or else you'll be pushing the gun to a side). You can try to use grip lotion like fastgrip, progrip or even climber's chalk to make your hands less slippery and help to stay on the grip.
  21. I second for crossfit. It is a great workout or you can also try a home variant P90X.

    CZ TS Race Holster

I am aloso using race master (modified from sp01) with TS Czechmate. Stability of the gun and next to nothing feel on a draw is really amazing. Much better then iwith crspeed.
  23. Admin note: merged posts. I've created a custom Google map for USPSA matches from the above list and some additions from the USPSA web site. It helps me to figure out the travel plans and it might be useful to others as well. You can see it at http://maps.google.c...db7f5e4da66b70f ******************* Just in case, Google Calendars users, here is calendar for the above list and iCal for iPhone or Outlook users. ******************* Guys, please add a comment at the end what you've changed or added.
