With 21 pages thread, it is really time to chop it off to pieces: feature requests, issues, ideas, match reports and general feedback. Even get a dedicated sub-forum for all things related to PractiScore.

I still believe the main problem with this is that PS don't explicitly indicate which targets are disappearing. It would be more obvious to the scores if instead of 1, 2, 3 on the left those targets are marked as DT1, DT2, etc...

"Score with" will be useful for large matches, but in most cases probably overkill for a small local matches. I was really hoping there would be something simpler, e.g. 'jump to' another stage function or just swipe screen left or right to switch to another stage. At the local matches we often run multiple stages 3 to 4 and depending on squad and RO, they may run competitor sequentially trough all of them, or split squad in half and half of people shoot two stages while other half shoot one, then they switch. So, some kind of fast navigation to stage would help.

In some cases it is really handy to be able to run PractiScore on desktop computer, e.g. to try it and get familiar with functionality or just for a better keyboard if you need to enter lot of competitors. Apparently you can now run an Android version of PractiScore on BlueStacks app player for Windows. See http://bluestacks.com/ You just download and install the BlueStack application on your Windows PC, then download PractiScore.apk file from PractiScore web site and click on it to get installed on BlueStack. It works like a charm!

It is been quiet here since Area 1. So, I wonder what's cooking? Don't want to push for anything, just curious if we could expect to see an automatic backup in a background to an external flash card to help going paperless and also custom (or IPSC) divisions? Thanks.

Black Badge is a mandatory training for all IPSC Canada members. You have to be a current member of your region, or you could join IPSC Canada after living certain period in the country. You should also know that Canada is a big country, so it is broken down into sections (each province is a separate section). If you're going to reside in BC, you should contact BC section coordinator. I'd still recommend to obtain foreign license, even if you're borrowing gun. The link I posted above has all required information.

I am from Toronto, but could answer some of your questions. You should be able to bring your firearms to Canada, but will have to do some paperwork upfront. Just have to make sure all your magazines are permanently pinned to 10 rounds (or you could get magazines locally). So what? It doesn't have to happen overnight. And it could be done incrementally with help of volunteers. I wasn't suggesting to break anything. See a note about interface to PS and EZWS. The whole EZWS is a separate story. You are right, of course, but online match support system is quite separate from EZWS or even PS. PS: I must say that I have implemented such online calendar/match signup/results submission system for IPSC Ontario (over 1000 competitors, about 200 matches a year with online signup). It been online for half a year now.

USPSA should really provide an integrated calendar/signup/squadding/score submission system with interface to PS and EZWS... And not only to Level 3 matches but to everyone.

Here is another idea that could help those who may not have luxury of having multiple backup units or can't setup wifi at the range. Most Android devices have a removable SD or MicroSD cards, so it would be great if PractiScore periodically saved current match results up there with md5 checkup to allow to verify file integrity. When given device go South, one could remove an SD card and put it into a working unit, so it would sync up the latest intact backup from the card.

It took me couple hours to integrate PractiScore with online registration system used by IPSC Ontario using PS match import/export file. Though it would be great if PS for Android recognized *.psc files downloaded from the web site and offer to open them in PractiScore right away. Also, I am eagerly waiting support of custom divisions, so I won't have to do some "creative" mapping between IPSC and USPSA divisions when moving between online registration system, PractiScore and WinMSS.

If I am not mistaken, the only target-related procedural is "Failed to Engage", but even that one is known when time is recorded. Though I find it somewhat inconvenient to have to click on "score targets" button after entering time (feels like legacy from the Palm scoring system). We often see that on field courses scoring is started while competitor is still shooting and with PS you basically have to go on a separate target screen and then back, skip the confirmation box, enter time and then back again to the targets screen. It would be simpler to just start scoring targets on the same screen... That would also address issue with procedurals.

You never using drop turner targets or anything that may disappear? No issue there. The B zone gives the same score as C. Personally I am more concerned that it is not possible to enter a no-shoot hits for a steel only stage. But, PS crew said they will look at it after Area 1 is over.
