  1. TGO should do the commentary......that would make it a must see......
  2. Flack, Looking at the Racker it appears to be multiple layers of Carbon Fiber. I guess it should not weigh much. That looks like the Hot ticket.....
  3. Flack, is that a JV part? I think he is in Greece at the moment.....
  4. Photo taken at Norco Running Gun in CA, it was installed on a JV Dynamics gun
  5. This looks interesting...........
  6. Bob, check with Jimmy Vidanes..................
  7. STI/SV mags are worth the trouble fitting.....
  8. Several years ago I had a chance to shoot one of the TOP Shooters (then and now) open gun. Quite frankly His gun was the most violent hard to shoot guns I have ever shot, my equipment is/was MUCH better. After that lesson I just worked on my shooting, best thing I ever did.... He IS a top shooter and it is not How Flat or Soft the gun is.......Spend the time looking to improve your shooting ability........
  9. Yea he was pretty right on with the par times and the stages, i don't think one guy/gal could have done it by themselves. Must have been an army of them. To think that was 1994 and the Format is still Exciting and Current. Hope it comes Back..........I understand Jojo Vidanes is interested in shooting it, throw KC and JJ........wow what a show
  10. The prototype C-more units were made in 1990, with many used at matches as early as 1991. So compared with the other optics of the time it was way ahead of the competition. Today it it still probably the most reliable, I will just let the others "test" all the new stuff out there before I make a change..............
  11. Limcat pistols are awesome.............nuff said.....
  12. I'm shooting the same bullet. What charge are you using with the Autocomp to make Major? 7.1 to 7.2
  13. With Moly we use it between each 5 string stage for Steel Challenge Practice. I got the tip from Ichiro Nagata.
  14. The C-more on an Allchin mount he has released for the Ruger.
  15. I have seen really weird readings from that brand of crono. I had my ammo go from 1390fps to 1630fps in a 5 shot string, it was the crono.
  16. Duracoat seems to hold up well
  17. Careful with the Vise squeeze, the Frame is very hard and brittle and will Crack.
  18. I think Grainger has the same price, I use the 14/20 whatever that means, and a it's great. Very little dust also.... It is under Blast Media....
  19. Well Tanman, if it is a plinker you are after go ahead and do it. Start with Brownells and order a comp kit in .45 if you want to DIY. There are several Vids you can watch that will help. Just beware you even the "drop in" kits will usually require some tuning. Part of the fun of the sport for many is the tinkering. Several of the Top 1911 Pistol-smiths started as just as hobbyist and learned, so you may be the next Bill Wilson in the Making. I say go for it, just be careful......
  20. Try another bullet, I have had similar observations with the MG 115 fmj and MG 115 cmj that CocoBolo has had. For some reason these don't work in a few of MY guns, different barrels. I love everything else that Montana makes. The 115 jhp is totally different story and seems to group well in all guns I have tested for accuracy. The MG 124 jhp is my favorite for Open and the 121 ifp tests look very promising for the World Shoot since we cant bring HP ammo to Greece?
  21. Kevin, on a few different guns it seems like the charge I am using for the 124's, the 121 was able to pick up enough velocity with the powders I have been trying (M350, Autocomp, Silhouette) was able to make it with little or no change in charge. So start with an existing load for the 124's and see where you are at, twist the knob and crono again. Sorry cant't give you charge weights as I make changes to powder measure based on crono readings only.
  22. KC did quite well with his Caspian and S_I mags, The frames are holding up well, seems the Caspian mags or the Tanfo mags just are not reliable enough. I know of a GM who tried for many months to get a set of mags to run in his New Caspian Open Pistol with no success last year, he just gave up. He must have went thru more than 20 tubes.
