  1. First off, I can guarantee Dave was not trying to psych him out. Second of all, Ben, stop saying you suck and execute the damn stages. Focus your attention on the match.
  2. Seen it, but to me it's unreliable and slower. Basic rule of thumb - get your grip as soon as possible.
  3. I should add that I'm still very technical in breaking stages down - but that's where it stops.
  4. FWIW, I used to be very technical in my stage analysis and shooting. I have since let go of that and my shooting relies only on feel. I learned that instinct is much more accurate than thought through playing golf.
  5. I would suggest that no matter what they decide to do, the most important thing is that they do it with passion.
  6. Sounds like a meniscus tear. Go see a good orthopedic surgeon. Relatively simple operation to fix it. After fixed, learn how to squat properly and do it religiously. Without question the best exercise to strengthen the knee.
  7. I don't believe you are truly a champion till you can do it on demand with the best in the sport (and "media") watching you. It's a good thing. It will further your development as a competitor.
  8. Sorry...I guess you're right. It isn't possible...
  9. Ben, I'm betting on you shooting 106 - 110 points on those standards. You're gonna kill it.
  10. Sorry buddy, I've been having some technical difficulties with my old computer. Creation of stages, etc. Only thing I can do is a very little bit of surfing until it is repaired. I'll make a post on the website.
  11. Did that contact effect your performance on the run???
  12. Yep....Carmoney's Bitch did a good job today.
  13. Funny shaped and 10 feet = benefit of the doubt to me. Besides, it doesn't matter if the hole fits in the overlay - what matters is if there are two distinct arcs. Hence the reason two overlays should be used when overlaying any hole.
  14. Eva T's Blog She doesn't update it very much anymore - but there are a ton of almost exclusively bodyweight WOD's in there. This is what I would use during travel. I absolutely still workout while on the road. I might cut the volume a bit - but especially with these mainly BW WOD's - it isn't gonna blast me to where I can't move the next day. Bottom line - listen to your body. If you can handle it - do it, if not - don't.
  15. Absolutely. I would definitely get rings at some point though since bar muscle-ups don't require the degree of stabilization needed for ring muscle-ups.

  17. One more thing I'd like to add.... Gatorade = I don't think Gatorade is even any better for you than pop. Learn to love water.
  18. It was more than likely a combination of things in the days before the match that contributed to it.
  19. I think under the circumstances (HEAT STROKE), he was in no way, shape, or form capable of taking an advantage like that. Pretty sure everyone else who didn't have heat stroke had an advantage over him.
  20. That's a real good reason to not let your bodyweight influence your training. Increased work capacity is the hallmark of training. If you feel better, perform better, and consistently set new PRs - you are doing something right. Regardless of what your bodyweight is.
  21. You gonna listen to me and start getting in shape now? (Before anyone pipes up and says it doesn't matter when it comes to heat stroke - it does.) I'm sure you did better than you think. You always do.
  22. I like that a lot. For me, I'd change that last part to not only having no fear of losing, but being willing to lose to give myself a chance to win. The day I shoot a match and take it easy on the last stage to "secure" 2nd is the last day I will ever compete in practical shooting. I would define that more as being reckless than bold. One is not caring about the outcome, the other is not holding anything back. From my definition there it may seem like they are the same things, but they have substantial different meanings to me. I am concerned with the outcome. I want to win and perform well at every match (or anything else) that I attend. That's the driving purpose for practice for me.
