  1. Chances are, if someone has 100% perfect technique, their score sucks. You can't possibly perform well and have flawless technique. The closer you get to your barriers is where technique starts to degrade. You should always be pushing yourself to where form degrades to around 90% efficiency in practice - the only way we improve is by exceeding our comfort zone.

    I couldn't agree more.
  3. I can just about guarantee to you this isn't the problem.
  4. You should have asked him, "WTF does being 45 have anything to do with it?" Heal fast bro.
  5. First thing I'd do different is lay off the caps lock. Yes that is worthwhile training, just make sure you don't fall into the trap of never exceeding your comfort zone.
  6. I'm more concerned about your foot/leg angle and depth if you're having knee pain.
  7. How's your form? Properly executed squats are the safest exercise you can do for your knees. Post a video?

So I guess when you are in the running for winning Nats and blow one of the final stages, you're gonna be real happy if someone heckles you or sticks a camera in your face right? Oh yeah...maybe I should add you are in excruciating pain after your 3rd knee surgery a month ago... Gimme a break....

I couldn't agree more. Tiger is my hero.
  11. The mental game is an issue for shooters of all skill levels. It's where consistency stems from.
  12. If you are unsatisfied with your mental game, take up golf....that'll improve it better than just about anything out there.
  13. Walking behind the stage is also best when you have a partner in the free fire zone you can communicate with.
  14. Grip and stance should be a constant regardless of the targets you are shooting at. Consistency is key. What happens if you increase support hand pressure at close distances?
  15. I'm gonna be the dissenting voice here and say practice until you develop a callus if you don't decide to change technique. Tape does nothing but mask the problem. Getting your finger off the frame would be a worthwhile endeavor though. The only place your trigger finger should touch the gun is the trigger. I don't think the trigger is the problem, as you can see a huge gap between your trigger finger and the rest of your fingers. I'd say concentrate a bit on lowering that knuckle until your trigger finger is no longer touching the frame. I would try not to change your strong hand's position as it is very solid and fundamentally correct. I consider changing equipment to be a last resort as there is never a guarantee it will work.
  16. Wow....that means he has done right around 30 procedures every single day, 7 days a week, for the last 10 years....
  17. I think most of the responses will be different than mine, but I'm going to go on record saying a fully locked support wrist and having the support elbow rolled upwards into the proper position is very important.
  18. Here's a secret....On memory stages, before you finalize your plan, double check it from behind the stage.
  19. No no no....that difference comes at match time...keep practicing it.
  20. And your first exit was different than your second.
  21. Some race holsters are better than others. I personally don't like the Limcat because it only has one point of contact on the gun. With those types of guns you NEED to lock the holster before any movement. That's why I switched to a CR Speed. Unlocking my holster before the draw was one more thing that I didn't need to have in my head and you can move with an unlocked CR Speed pretty safely. So basically, get used to adding a new movement to your draw, or try a different holster.
  22. Did someone not read the title of the thread closely enough?
  23. I pinch the front serrations with my thumb and index finger.
