  1. It has been a while since he wrote the book. Maybe he has some more (or different) insight to it now.
  2. What was your experience with this drill Brian?
  3. For me - those mean more than most of the victories. Nice post Sam.
  4. Jeff, That's funny as hell. Why not do a friendly team wager. 1 shooter in each of 4 or all 5 divisions. Total combined points wins.
  5. That is without a doubt the coolest f***in' thing I've ever seen.
  6. I remember at L10 nats a few years ago in the dark house, I engaged the last target after the reload without the flashlight because I had programmed a few reference points to index on it. (Shoulder on the wall, aim inside edge of doorway). I can't remember for sure but I'm pretty sure I won the stage because of it.
  7. It depends. If I'm down going into the last stage, I'll usually go for it - mainly because the alternative sucks.
  8. Thanks bro I really appreciate it.
  9. Jim, Bro, I was a C shooter when I first started in USPSA and I was in B class for close to 2 years. In this sport you get as good as you want to. If you get to the point where you can win stages - you can win matches.
  10. The point is to not try at all bro. I dunno about you, but I'd much rather win the match than have a few stage wins.
  11. Many Masters have the required ability to win stages at the national level. The majority of those Masters may understand the importance of it - but that doesn't change the fact that they still try to burn stages down. Understanding and execution are two very different things.
  12. ??? It seems like the best solution is to just move faster. This is a mental issue - not a technique issue. Work these situations into your dry fire routine.
  13. Not really. It's a self perpetuating cycle. If you are winning some stages and blowing other stages - your confidence takes just as big of a hit both ways. At best you are right back where you started (I also consider being stagnant the same as falling behind). Bottom line is consistent performance is never going to happen until you decide you want it to.
  14. Absolutely bro - welcome to the club.
  15. That is the goal. The point is you shouldn't be going into stages trying to win them.
  16. Well that would be a factor if it wasn't free on spike. Although I do agree there should be a spoiler warning.... Anderson put him in the dirt hard.
  17. You thought the Dark Knight was too dark huh?
  18. Hey guys, I'm running an experiment that I've been thinking about for awhile. I'd like who ever wants to, to start adding in these WODs to their training program or fully adopting it as your entire dry fire routine for the next few months. Check them out and post your results, comments, or videos (links) in the comments section. Thanks, Jake jakedivita.com
  19. I'm gonna be shooting my first major with them in 3 weeks. I plan on writing a report up after I've field tested them.
  20. Whew...that's a big question. As a few of you might have noticed, I'm posting dry fire WOD's on my website now so that could be a good place to start. I'll try and get something up in the next few days on that Leam.
  21. If you want to go open, your best bet is to do it right from the start. Making compromises with your equipment is not the place to save money....trust me.
  22. If I'm transitioning to an easy target, I'll tend to dismount the gun and turn it towards the targets with my body. This will allow me to be able to index to the target anywhere from .1 to .25 faster than I normally could. It's something that needs to be practiced extensively before you try that at match time though.
  23. New article up. I'll take other ideas if you guys got them.
