  1. I started shooting pistols with a G22. Great gun and never had a problem. I switched to a 2011 and just love the trigger and the splits I can get from them. I will probably always own a Glock, but not for Limited or open div. Just my 2 cents. BTW- Saw KC shooting open for Glock this past weekend at NC Sectional. Real fast!
  2. Great match! Thanks to all who helped out with the match. Amazing to get 8 stages done in a half day! Loved the staff resetting the stages. That's how we roll at S.C. Sectional too.
  3. Second and third buy another spring.
  4. Agreed. Runs great with any ammo. Not as fast cycling as a Benelli, but not as temperamental either.
  5. Another great match! Thanks Linda, Jack, Tom, and everyone who helped put on a first class match. Wally
  6. The Christmas stage was definitely twisted! There was NOTHING festive about it! 3x 1/3 swinger targets at 35 yards! HO HO HO! There was a static target that was even farther! Cinch de Mayo had a 6" plate at 30+ yards that ate my lunch! I'm still licking my wounds. LOL...we paced it off at 23 yards from the forward fault line. Shot and worked the match, was a lot of fun. Great experience dealing with international shooters. This is arguably the best match in the country. Frank, Manny, RO's, and staff do a great job. There is one area that comes up every year that could make it better for all. Since there is a large participation of international shooters and many are not accustom to pasting and resetting, the others on the squad do all the work. It makes for a very long day. It would be great if there were enough stage staff to do all the pasting and resetting, even if an increased price was needed to offset this. This should fall on the squad members to educate the forign shooters on how matches work in the US. Shot this all but 3 years since it inception. Had the same issue a few times, and with only 1 exception, once they were asked/shown/told how it was done it was a non issue. I have tried that for three years. Seen RO's put pasters in there hands. Did not work. One RO told us this year that they were told international shooters do not have to paste.

  8. Jack and Company do a great job on this! And remember they provide pasters for Saturday shooters!!! -Wally
  9. My 3rd year in a row shooting all day Fri. By stage 7 I've completely lost all focus! "Where is my 5 hour energy drink?"
  10. Brazo's are expensive, but I have never had a problem with them. On my second set of .40's. Never had 9mm from him.
  11. I changed to a Dawson FO on my STI Edge. I think they will fit yours.
  12. Can I get some suggestions for non-slip grips for a 1911? I have a Fusion Scout XL set up for SS, but the grips I have seem very slippery compared to the ones I have on my STI.
  13. OMG! That video shows a very crude technique. Here is the must have tool for 1911 owners: My link I would also get this kit and use with a trigger pull measuring devise: My link This way you will be able to adjust much more exact and be able to measure to the recommended tolerances.
  14. You said, "...sometimes slide to the bottom..." - how many times has this happened? I have been running a DAA RM for about 6 months now and I haven't seen it. How long was it after the RIC until it fell? Thanks Within 5 seconds. It has slide down about 3 times. A friend told me he set the adjustment screw and put Loctite on it. I am going to look into that.
  15. Spanky, I help with set up at my local club every month and design a few stages myself. We seem to have this same discussion every month. It seems to always end with one of us saying, "well you can't fix stupid". What we mean by that is we can't make every stage idiot proof. I agree that your first draft would be a bit of a 180 issue for new and even for the better shooters trying to go fast past the first walls while engaging 4-7. I like the revised version a lot more. IMHO.
  16. This happened to me last Saturday. I finished shooting the last stage of our local match. I showed clear, hammer down and holstered. I engaged the lock on my (new) Double Alpha race holster. RIC was announced by the RO. I turned to leave the stage and my pistol fell to the ground. I then said, "Stop. RO I have dropped my gun." She had everyone clear the COF. While she was clearing the COF I tightened the adjustment screw on the holster and pulled the cam back to the up postion. She then picked up my pistol, checked it for clear, put the hammer down, and handed it to me. I checked it for clear, put hammer down, and holstered (triple checking it was locked in). I thought I was DQ'ed for sure. The CRO was also on our stage and informed me that I was very lucky she had call RIC before the gun fell and that I was not DQ'ed. I have been running this holster for 3 months now without a problem. The locking cam on the Double Alpha will sometimes slide to the bottom locked postion after running the COF. I holstered on top of the cam and engaged the lock so I thought it was in safely. Lesson learned very cheaply!
  17. Banks- we need a 3rd Weekend of the month USPSA match in SC. I have a hall pass and nowhere to use it!

  18. I think the biggest difference I am finding is that I have more options for springs than I had with the RM.
  19. As an update; took out recoilmaster and installed tungsten guide rod and ran with 16# spring. Only had time for 50 rounds, but really liked the difference. The front sight really snaps back without dipping below rear. Ran it in our monthly match the next day and felt very confident. Need more time and rounds to be sure. Will try 14# next.
  20. Please accept my application to enter the 1911 SS Elitist Club. -A66707 -I have shot limited with a Sti 2011 Edge for two years, but have had this Fusion Scout build for SS. Have shot several USPSA matches with it. -I do own a plastic gun (G-22)with light and laser, but have punished it for quite a while by locking it my glovebox and only take it out when I am robbed. -My CC gun is a 4" 1911 Fusion, no rail but does have ambi stafety (they tend to work better for me since I am lefthanded)
  21. Springfield Armory Custom Shop, with rail, no sure about mags, ammo was Atlanta Arms and Ammo. But it did have a light rail. I shot in his squad at S.C. Sectional right before SS Nats. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtRh-uAmgpw&feature=related
