  1. Best way to get small amounts of different powders, get to know the local shooters at your club and talk to them. Many times a shooter can give you small amounts of what he uses so you can try it out. Obviously make sure the powder is well labeled and all that to keep the safety in place, but we should all be grown ups here as we are reloading ammo and not baking cookies. Same with bullets, if a friend just got a case, offer to buy 100 at regular 100 pack retail price, yes that will be at least 50% more than 1000 + price, but way cheaper than being stuck with 950 bullets you don't like. Good luck.
  2. I do all my own casting for myself, son and girlfriend, and cast for a few friends. The 230 gr lrn is best for us. With lead, I like to go heavy to keep the velocity down to still make power factor. In 38, I run a 195 lrn that makes USPSA/IPDA/ICORE minor with NO recoil and no leading. Good luck.
  3. Nicely done Will, but with all that, why not just learn to shoot regular hand like the rest of us ?
  4. Welcome, join us at Sir Walter or Caswell Ranch anytime, or any of the other great matches around the State
  5. Hard to explain, but when you feel with finger, the whole primer "feels" seated below flush, if you "feel" all the ones in the picture, I think you will see what I mean, best of luck
  6. Hey Dean, I need one in my 686 if you need to order stuff, please get me one, thanks
  7. They look good, but your finger will be able to tell with some practice
  8. Try using a "Lee" handpriming tool with Federal primers, yes it's extra work, but better than light hits, I also clean the primer pockets, I know extra work
  9. Revo is the lowest, there are very few of us COOL enough to shoot the round gun
  10. Save the part of the video where you hit the reload and got the drop on 2nd present, nice !!!Try some handprimed Federal primers on your ammo, get rid of the light hits
  11. Dean is just cool like that!!! 3" in USPSA, you da man
  12. I sometimes run a 6" S&W 57 milled for moonclips, found a mold for a 249 lrn and make major easy and have a minor load that has NO recoil. Enjoy it my friend !!! Yes I love my 625, but the other revos are fun as well.
  13. If your barrel/comp is stainless steel, try soaking it in 50% white vinegar/ 50% hydrogen peroxide, the lead will melt right off. DO NOT do this on a blued gun. I shoot lead in all my revos (the stainless ones) and this is how I get them spotless. Good luck
  14. That club, Pitt County, may still hold matches, but the quality will not be the same, Dean from Caswell Ranch holds a great match, as does Martin and his crew at Sir Walter, check them out on NC SECTION website, hope to have you join us soon
  15. Recent events? What happened and where? I've been to Caswell Ranch twice (Once for IDPA and once for USPSA). It's a nice range, and pretty laid back crowd. I'd recommend it to others. I'm going to try to make it this month. Looking forward to shooting with you Tony
  16. Recent events? What happened and where? The staff that has been putting on the great matches that we've all enjoyed, will no longer be setting up and running them for us,,,,, 'nuff said
  17. For those of you that might not have a place to shoot USPSA on 4th Sat in NC due to recent events, fret not as you can play at Caswell Ranch on 3rd Sat!!!!! Hope to see all our Eastern NC displaced friends there ( thanks to Eddie, John, Bill and all those that have given us many great matches, we appreciate it !!)
  18. Moderators, please close this post, respectfully, John Z Sr
  19. I agree that the Titegroup is consistant and accurate, but I find on long stages (24+ rounds) the cylinder gets very hot. I like Clays, as it seems to be pretty accurate and burns clean and much cooler.
