  1. Hey Joe, I will be bringing my 686 with 6 comp 3's and 2 Safariland 333 holders, and will also bring my S&W 57 with moonclips. Not sure which I'll shoot, but if you need the K frame stuff, you can use it and I'll use the 57. I also have about 6 HKS twisty speed loaders for load and make ready. With 6 in the gun and 36 on the belt you should be fine. Look forward to shooting with you, bring someone else along if you can, John Z
  2. Backup gun always a good idea, you never know and what better way to get a new observer into a shooter "hey why not try to shoot the match, I have an extra gun in the truck you can borrow"
  3. Don't know about the company and it's policies, but I did watch a friend make "GM" in 4 classifier stages with a 4" GP100 and speedloaders, that's worth something to me. My 625 just had a major breakdown and will be on theway back to S&W. Love my Smiths, but who knows? Maybe Ruger will start making a 5" .45 ACP revo milled for moonclips, and have them AVAILABLE to the shooters that want them?
  4. I think Eli C. lives out that way If Eli leaves today he may be there on Monday. Tom Love to have you join us Tom, grab Eli and have some company for the ride
  5. Between my son and myself, we have about 6 that you are welcome to borrow, just let me know
  6. Very well said my friend. Having been fortunate enough to shoot several Level 2/3 matches with Josh over the last 2 years, yes he is GM material. My money is on him to be National Champ very soon. The man (promised I would not refer to him as a kid anymore) is way younger than any of us, has eyes that are still sharp and has 20+ years to practice before he gets up to the age bracket that the current top shooter is. Besides, what "A" class shooter wants to make "M" if Josh is stuck there?
  7. The key to no light hits is hand primed Federal primers, in my opinion
  8. My 625 is real bad sick, must go back to Smith,,,,, sorry tears to wipe away, so I will shoot Retro with the 686, or maybe Limited with 6" 57 in .41 mag super short with 249 lrn, or maybe both? Look forward to shooting with you all on Sunday, PS, USPSA multi-gun Saturday at Pitt County, great fun, grab any pistol, rifle and shotgun and we will figure out the division you will be in later, John I was not sandbagging in SSR,(ESR ?) have not shot it since the 2" 66 at the Cup in 08, as marksman
  9. What you have looks just like Bob's design, I have used North Mountain products and known Bob for years and I would go with him. Nothing against the other company, I just am loyal to those who are loyal to me, Bob's customer service is second to none.
  10. Ok revo shooters, at the East Coast match, folks said they were not happy about no more ICORE at Caswell, so Dean is holding a match on Sunday 31 OCT. So lets see you all come out and support Dean while having some fun with revos, Scott, Joe, Will, Tom, Dan and Albert, Dave M (now shooting SSR), you know Mark is dedicated like Dean and I, Eli, make the drive my friend, I know John H will be there, lets try for 2 squads this time !!!!
  11. Got the brass and get my lead for no cost. Excluding ALL the time involved, I can shoot 9MM for 3.5 cents per round, again excluding my time and the cost of the reloading and casting setup. 3 cents for a primer and about 1/2 cent for powder, not too bad.
  12. If we can get enough interest, maybe Dean will let us play !!!! Give him some feedback!!!!!
  13. Been thinking 'bout this for a few days, the classifiers being shot over and over. What is a classifier stage for anyway? Is it not to test, on a known course, your accuracy, speed, reloads, etc? Is this not exactly what we do in NRA Highpower and Bullseye? How 'bout PPC ? The classifier course in IDPA, 90 rounds always the same. Trap and skeet are always 25 birds going out of the same house. Get the point? If someone shoots classifiers and moves up, who cares? Yes Josh is a GREAT revo shooter and he desrves to be GM based on his match at Nationals. Does Otis need to be demoted, as the former National champ did not have as good a match as he normally would? If Jerry's revo broke in the beginning of 2 large field courses and he dnf'ed and got 0 out of 320 points, therefore some "C" class shooter beats him by a bunch, does that give the "C" class a bump to "A" or "M" ? Just some thoughts to ponder.
  14. Sounds great, John Z. I'll take you up on both the shooting match and the after-match bullets the next time I'm in your neck of the woods. You got it my friend, just don't tell Otis I gave you his "ammo", I'll buy him some more when he comes up for the Carolina Cup in June
  15. Thanks John. Yeah, I've shot out at Sir Walter Raleigh but it's a long drive for me! Shoot at US Training Center and it's only 45 mins. away, can't beat that facility! I have a local range that has some guys that I think would have fun but I think they are maybe kind of intimidated to go to UST (Blackwater). Thought I'd try and help them get something going on their home turf.Dave It's the do'ers like you that make the sport as great as it is, on behalf of the NC shooters, thanks
  16. Forgive me Mike, congrats on beating Otis, the former Champ ( but still my hero) by 5%, nicely done !!!
  17. I did promise Josh no more age remarks, glad you other revo's can keep it up !!!!
  18. Mike, the guy is that good, ask Jerry about him from years ago. And yes, you are right, this is about giving Josh his credit, heck, I texted him as soon as I saw the results. I even went so far as to tell Josh that from now on, I would never make refference to his age (or lack thereof) (( sorry Josh, last one)) again!! I agree with you on the system, but at least it's way better than the 90 round sandbagger system in the other game (which I shoot as well and work many matches, so I feel I have the right to say that in a non-bashing sort of way). The offer still stands my friend, any time you are heading towards NC, let us know and we would be happy to have you join us, I think I still have some of Otis's "Silver Bullets" left over from his last time to the house, he probably forgot them by now.
  19. If you are reffering to someone who just made GM in 4 classifiers ( and kept it up with his 5th) I can say that having been there and knowing the man for quite some time, no he did not shoot and reshoot them to make it. He also did it with a 4" GP 100, with speedloaders and shot minor. As someone who has shot many matches over the last 3 years to work my way from just making "C" class in 2007 to "A" class now, I do not share the percieved jealosy as stated above, but think that it's pretty cool that someone can be that good. I also have seen him take any gun, revo or bottom feeder, and shoot a match cold with an unfamilliar gun and proceed to kick butt and take names. Yes Josh can lay claim to "GM", I know him as well and he's a great revo shooter, but so is the man you seem to doubt. Coinsider this my personal invite to you Sir, to come to Caswell Ranch anytime (I'll pay your entry fee even) and shoot a match with us, and you can see for yourself how good he is, heck, I just might give you a good run for the money as a lowly "A" class just for spite.
  20. Congrats to Jerry, bummer for Otis, look out for Mr. Josh
  21. This is not to be a revo only match, all divisions would be welcome, the open guys might even get reload 2 times on a stage !!!!
