  1. Yes, although there is a decocker option now on most models.
  2. Over the last 18 months or so, we tweaked the sears slightly. I believe the older sears were CNC'd but the current versions are EDM'd. The part we produce today has even tighter dimensional control than before. It results in a subtle improvement in trigger feel than the older Mk7 guns. I describe them as coming out of the box as nice as a broken in part. All 2012 and newer guns come with the frame drilled for both sear systems. We ship the X-Calibur and the K22 X-Trim (not yet ATF approved) with the X-Cal hammer and sear, and the rest of the line with the standard K100 hammer and sear.
  3. I'm wondering out loud here.... I'd ask a pointed question. Can you transport your guns on an existing Form 6 NIA after you officially enter the US on a work visa? My suspicion is that even if you can do that, you're going to hit a wall at some point after entry and before you get your green card.
  4. I have to assume that these are the guns Century held back just in case. ( warranty claims, etc) There is nothing wrong with grabbing a bargain folks. Century only cover the mk7 with a one year warranty, but GP will have full parts support through Eagle Imports.
  5. Maybe I'm taking too narrow a view of the matter. However, there is only one profile of barrel offered for the X-Calibur. The only optional barrel is the unfluted version (which is not well suited to 147gr ammo). To me, a bull barrel suggests an aftermarket or factory barrel with a heavier than standard profile.
  6. No, just I do hear from some folks that want more for a house/car gun. Two deliberate but natural actions to get the gun into play I suppose.
  7. Cool video. For those that still want the safety on with the hammer down, you can apply the safety from the half cock position.
  8. I keep toying with the idea of returning to Bianchi with my Grand Power X-Calibur, but I would have to work on getting the SA trigger up to that weight. I may play to see if I can leave the geometry alone and just double up on the trigger return springs. With 130gr .356 jacketed ammo, the 50 yard shots should be a breeze. (well as easy as possible for my old eyes)
  9. I don't want to overstate this, so by all means check with Troy... If you look you will find a picture of Troy holding the X-Calibur at SHOT, giving the thumbs up. Prior to SHOT, he said he could not see a problem, and should be able to get it on the list as soon as the show closed. At SHOT, he mentioned that there was an issue with a denial of service attack on the USPSA server, so it might take him a few days to get it listed, but that we were good to go.
  10. There were a bunch that arrived in December and more coming next month. Regular orders are scheduled, and based on the feedback at SHOT, the orders will be large.
  11. I'd take a close look when you talk about heavy or cone barrels. My assumption is the wording may refer to replacement barrels, not the factory standard for that model. Simply put, you can not buy an Xcal that does not have the slide scallops or that profile barrel.
  12. I can't really comment on product that is not already on the market. The question does come often however....
  13. Let me check the firing pin channel on my mk7 Xcal. As I've never cleaned it out in 25k, can we assume if there was a problem with flow, I'd have a wee bit of debris built up?
  14. Any idea when we should see some more guns hit the states? The next order should land early-mid February.
  15. Call Eagle Imports and ask for Matt. They will have replacement rear sights for you immediately after SHOT. We started producing this sight recently. It's come to our attention that some of the first batch didn't get assembled according to the specs, and we also looked at and changed the material used for the windage screw. Sorry that this happened folks. We will make it right.
  16. My understanding is that as far as generational changes go, it's generally not a problem. The biggest issue if it was not, is the requirement of 2000 production guns. That said, by the time we managed to navigate ATF and State Department paperwork to bring in a differently marked model, we would likely have sold well over that number.....
  17. If Troy is agreeable, I will post a picture of he and I with an X-Cal and a sea of thumbs up once he has a chance to inspect them in person.
  18. GP mags use the .250 pin on the basepad retainer. CZ is smaller.
  19. Sounds like you need a cigarette and a shower. Welcome to the addiction.... When it comes to the basic architecture of the trigger system, it's hard to improve, but it can be tweaked, cautiously. The hammer and sear engagement surfaces are very clean. With a good sear fixture and guide, they could be very lightly polished, but any change in final position is liable to increase weight. Reducing the area below the sears edge can make for a quicker and crisper feeling break, but also very quickly leave you without a working safety. Reducing the hammer spring length slightly and thinning the spring cap or removing it entirely are also options, but can lead to ignition problems. Play safe folks.
  20. Don't quote this as gospel, but I suspect before the end of the month.
