The number of X-Cals on the next order is considerably larger. -

Call Eagle Imports, and ask for Matthew. I'm using the steel guide rod, but tastes vary. -
Grand Power X-Calibur: technical discussion
Canuck223 replied to NicVerAZ's topic in "Other" & Pistol Comparisons
Of course. The primary difference in the Mk12 insert compared to the Mk7 is the front is cut differently for the new takedown system. Also we had to return to a relief cut under the barrel seat to avoid warping during the heat treat process. Here is a video of the various steps in production. If you fast forward to 7:08 you can see that right after installing the frame into the grip, the assembler is going to check for slide stop tension. It's of course possible for a spring to be missed. However, it would then have to be overlooked by the assembler as he completes the gun, the shop QC foreman who handles each gun before it leaves the assembly cell, and our QA team who test fire each gun with 10 rounds before packaging. http://youtu.be/M6jy1gs9Wjk -

Nick, if the slide stop spring was missing when you test fired the gun, you would have had problems with it locking open early, not failing to lock open. -

Yes, it's the trigger bar popping back up into the notches in the slide. The lobes act as the disconnector, with the slide driving them down as it cycles. -

USPSA NROI will be examining them in person at SHOT in three weeks and already have the paperwork for them. Troy is not anticipating any problems. They should be on the list before the end of January. -

When I started shooting in 1989, Glocks were viewed with some suspicion still in Canada. CZ 75's were dirt cheap as we had a glut of contract over-run guns on the market. People were somewhat luke warm about them. SIG was barely known and most folks that had them bought them because they were rebadged as Brownings. Times change. Good designs and good companies eventually get recognition. -

Just do what everyone else does. Buy it blind, then if it doesn't turn your crank, try to sell it on the EE on CGN for full retail..,., -

Is the muzzle flip less than the Shadow or Tanfo ? Noticeably so, but don't take my word for it. If DVC Range is in your travels, take one of there's out for a test drive. -

This was actually taken not at the factory, but during IWA in Nuremburg this past March. (IWA is like the European SHOT Show.) Vratko and Martin handle world wide sales. Lucia works in domestic sales.

Nope, pull the one in the gun out of the gun and compare it. -

It definitely rewards proper grip and trigger technique. A firm and well distributed grip is all you should need. Also, play with the other round coil spring. The lightest spring is probably right on the money for 147gr 132pf ammo, and the one in the gun when it shipped is likely ideal for 125gr ammo. The red flat coil spring is best for +p ammo should you want to push the limits. -
Yep, I know that anything you deliberately bolt to a reciprocating part will eventually fail... However, what's the most bulletproof red dot scope that could fit on a slide that was milled to accommodate the sight???

In BC, DVC Ventures have them in stock. Trigger Wholesale is the importer and distributor, but they don't retail new guns. Your local dealer can get them in if they don't have them already. -

It's an off menu option. Which is to say it was not and currently is not listed in the catalog with that option. The Canadian distributor asked if we could ship some that way... While the decocking hammer group has a very nice trigger, it's not the same as the standard X-Calibur. -

Yep, you start with the hammer full down. Yes, like guys shooting the Shadow, you could likely start of the half cock but there are no real advantages unless being viewed as a gamer is an advantage. The original X-Calibur hammers did not come with a half cock notch................. It's an off menu item, but the Canadian distributor brought in a number of the X-Cals with our decocking hammer group. It's going to be interesting to see in what proportion they sell.. -

Hello! Canadian......... My club has an annual "chili match" each winter. 2013's was a little extreme. We relearned that target patch adhesive doesn't work below -25C so we kept them tucked in the backs of our gloves next to the skin. Timer batteries are hard pressed to move enough electrons, so between shooters they are held inside the jacket. Also propane tanks for the chili pot need to be kept indoors the night before to ensure the gas flows and the regulator doesn't freeze. -

I have found that 0W30 synthetic motor oil works perfectly from -30C to +30C. When lubricating the X-Calibur or any of the Grand Power guns, remember that the rear of the barrel bears directly on the area of the slide that surrounds the breech. Nobody wants to get oil in the chamber or on the breechface. However, a thin film of oil on the rear of the barrel when lubing the pistol will keep it running like a top. I won't quote the round count, but one of our new sponsored shooters took my advice to an extreme this past month just to see how dirty the gun could get before it would start to compromise reliability. Let's leave it as Remi easily doubled my previous round count between cleanings.... -

I've been hitting this point for two years now. Once folks get behind the trigger and realize that the platform can get them faster split times on target and is faster on to and off of the target, hold on to your socks boys... -

Nope, A magazine for the Mk5 will work fine in the Mk12. Unless we come up with a single stack I can't see switching formats.
