  1. There are a number of bills that have been introduced to the Oregon Senate: SB 927, which bans the manufacture, sale, and transfer of certain semi-automatic firearms (listed by model, maker and characteristics), prohibits the possession of magazines larger than ten rounds, and establishes a state-sponsored permitting scheme for anyone wishing to continue lawfully possessing any firearm on the banned list; SB 942, a measure making it a crime to allow your firearms to be accessible to anyone under 16; SB 954, a bill increasing the fee for fingerprinting a Concealed Handgun License applicant (from $15 to $22) and for transferring a firearm under Oregon`s instant check system (from $10 to $25); and SB 957, legislation which repeals the state firearms preemption law and allows cities and counties to enact a patchwork of restrictions on the possession and carrying of firearms across the state. If I understand it correctly, SB927 would really put the hurt on USPSA in Oregon. Please help by writing your congressman or write all of the congressmen. There are guidelines for writing letters here and you can find your congressman here. Help us save our Rights and our sport.
  2. FWIW, I have yet to find two burn rate charts the same.
  3. I ordered a belt, mag pouch and holster for a glock 19 from Wild Bill's. Workmanship, fit and price is excellent. He quoted 6-8 weeks and it took about 10. This was two years ago.
  4. I have been using true blue in a 650 for a while now and no problems. I average 10 round when I start loading and three more every time I reload primers...They have always been +/- .1 gr.
  5. shadetree wide45 has a good point. Did you add a shock buff?
  6. Dave I have also been looking for open guns, and they say they have a Pro-sx in stock here. The price is higher than Brazos' webpage, but to get it shipped tomorrow maybe it is worth it!
  7. Cameron Are you using the arredondo powder bar?
  8. I also tried to run some True blue over the chrono today. Ramshot gives data for 6.4 to 8.4 grains of true blue under a 124gr hornady hp/xtp, with small pistol primers. I made the mistake of buying winchester brass and seems to have shallow primer pockets. I have tried both winchester small rifle and federal small rifle but they set high. Anyway, I started at 7.5 grs and had pressure signs on the primers. I did chrono about ten rounds and ended up with 1275 average, 158.4 pf. This was through a 5" STI w/4 ports and no holes.
  9. I believe the bracket is held by the bolts that hold the press to the strong mount. The same place you would put it with out the strong mount.
  10. I've never reloaded 223, but with 243 and 7mm One Shot is not enough. It got to the point that I could hardly cycle the machine. After using the Dillon lube it felt like I was running 38 super again. I am with Erik on the seperate sizing and seating toolheads. I have found that cleaning the primer pockets after sizing greatly increases accuracy. After seating and inspecting I tumble in walnut media for 10-20 minutes. The Dillon lube leaves them so sticky that they will not chamber reliably. As for pistol reloading, One Shot is the only way to go.
  11. Eric, Try freezing the die before removing the case...Then use dillon lube on the next batch.
  12. If you want the best, here they are... LS Starret
  13. Can you use any 1911 style mag? Or any other options available? bhg
  14. PACT from our host. I just got the MK IV and like it. Shot timer and chrono in one.
  15. SiG Lady, I know this puts a crimp on the budget plan, but long live the casefeeder on the 650! I was in the same position as you about five years ago and finally bought the 650 about two years ago. IMHO, I'm glad I waited. Anyways, Dillon equipment is the best and holds resale value well. Alot of people have the SDB and like it, but the 650 gives you more time for shooting. Billy
  16. Jeeper, The wire thing did the same on my 650, I bent the center loop a little tighter on the shellplate bolt. It still moves up a little but no problems. Also, the continued problem with shell ejection, I called Dillon and they said to round the trailing edge of the shellplate slightly. This allowed the case to slide out a little easier. Hope this helps... Billy
  17. Once I started using VihtaVuori powders I never wanted to use anything else. Although there are alot of threads about VV powders being dirty at certain pressures. The dirtiest I ever found was the old formulation of Unique . The new formulation is better, but not as good as VV.
  18. http://www.nra.org/frame.cfm?title=NRA%20I.../www.nraila.org Go to FAQ's--State laws Hope this helps...
  19. I've been using 6.2grs VV3N37 behind a Raineer 115 RN for a pf of 139. The VV powders are very nice after using bullseye and unique. Hardly have to clean the gun! There was a thread on Matt Burkett's board talking about an annoying secondary ignition with 3N37. I only shoot outdoors and have had no problem. FWIW, I used 3N37 because it was all the local shop had...Probably would try N340 for the 115gr if it were available. Billy
  20. I've been using 5.3 grs of unique, 125 gr JSP, in 38Spl brass for a pf of 127. The new formulation of unique is alot cleaner burning and pretty controllable. Billy
  21. Steve, Just wondering what powder measure you were using, and if you had trouble metering the IMR powders? I never have much luck with them.
  22. Did the guys get the tools? They did meet the challenge even though it didn't win the race. Did you see the look in Jesse's eye? Wish I could have fired a few rounds!!!
  23. Eric, Nice signature! Are you going to make bumber stickers? Where can I get one?
