  1. My P238 must have been built near the same time as yours Flint. It's also post recall. I went through my notes from each range trip: 400 rounds, 18% malfunctions. The malfunctions are the same as you've described with your P238. I've shot American Eagle, Hornady, Magtech and Double Tap ammo. That's good to hear, they can run. TXAG, how does your spent brass look? Mine is chewed up like Flint's in his photo in Post #1. Rick
  2. Sarge, That grease gun looks perfect for my 650. Can you load it with bulk grease or do you use the grease cartridges sold by Snap-on? Rick
  3. That's great news Flint. Glad Sig made it right. I've not come close to 50 rounds through my P238 without a malfunction. The Kahr P380 is a great pistol IMO. Mine has run perfect straight out of the box after an initial clean and lube. Easy to shoot, 5.5# trigger. I use it for a pocket gun. Rick
  4. Flint, Thanks for the update. That was a surprisingly fast turnaround. Yeah, I'm going to call Sig as I'm still having problems and I'm all I'm doing now IS wasting ammo. I bought the Sig P238 for my wife. It's the only small pistol that she says she'll carry. I wish you luck but.......I have a Kahr P380 that I carry. It has run flawlessly since day one. The P380 is a great little gun. But I am partial to Kahrs in general. Rick
  5. Flint, Please keep us apprised of how Sig addresses the problems you are having. I have a Sig P238 and I'm having similar problems. Rick
  6. That's interesting. As noted above, it is legal for an FFL to use the USPS to ship a handgun to another FFL. Why was this shipment considered "Unauthorized Contents"? In the past when I've sold a handgun to someone out of state, I would take the handgun to my FFL and he would ship the handgun via USPS to the buyer's FFL for the cost of shipping plus a nominal fee. I'm wondering if I should reconsider using this method in the future. Thanks, Rick
  7. If you get DQ'd from the practice stage are you DQ'd from the match too?
  8. I placed a backorder for Federal primers a few weeks ago with Graf & Sons. The talk about being charged for two Hazmat fees and the credit card being charged prior to the primers being available for shipping got me concerned. I checked the invoice I was sent by Graf & Sons and only one Hazmat fee was listed. I checked my credit card charges and there are none so far from Graf & Sons. So far it appears that they are handling the backorder as I would expect them to. All I ordered were primers, no powder, with the expectation that the primers would be sent in one shipment. I think I'll give them a call to make sure the primers are sent out in one shipment. I've been very pleased in my past dealings with Graf & Sons. Rick
  9. Natchez also has Winchester small pistol primers in stock, or they did a few minutes ago. Rick
  10. I've been looking for a new set of electronic earmuffs. Based on what I've read in this thread and this thread I decided on the Sordin Supreme Pro X. Just purchased them at this Ebay store. CSUK. Rick
  11. Here and here are some performance comparisons of various CR123A batteries. FWIW I stick with the made in USA or Japan CR123A batteries. Rick
  12. al503, I am not familiar with what a "rolling trigger break" is; could you please explain it. Thanks! Cy See here and here for starters. Rick
  13. Cy, Did you order the EGW Ultimate Trigger kit referenced in your first post in this thread? Did you drop the parts in as they came from EGW, no polishing? Thanks, Rick
  14. Thanks! Brownell's has an EGW Ignition Parts Kit with the hard sear, Colt spring, XL disconnector and slotted hammer. It looks like the same trigger kit that EGW sells without the choice of hammer. Rick
  15. Is the EGW supplied sear spring the OEM Colt spring lightened by EGW or does it come from Colt in this configuration? Rick
  16. That's what makes it fun for me. If it was easy, I'd find something else to do. Rick
  17. +1 I have a Thumbler Tumbler that I picked up used and it works great. I also have a Lymann tumbler that has a larger capacity than the Thumbler Tumbler but doesn't clean the brass as quickly. I've owned both of them for about 6 years. Running empty with only media in the bowl the Thumbler Tumbler is soild. The Lymann will "walk" until I place some brass in it. FWIW the Lymann has held up a lot longer than I thought it would. Considering the price and the cheap construction, the Lymann still works fine. Rick Edited to add: I also have the Dillon small media separator. This is indispensable for making the task of cleaning brass go as quickly as possible.
  18. That's good to know Brian. FP-10 preserves the stinginess of Slide Glide so I had stopped looking for anything else to cut it with for cold weather use. Rick
  19. Thanks for the reply big_kahuna. Very cool. The ingenuity of competition shooters never ceases to amaze me. It seemed to me that mechanical cold mixing would not yield a homogeneous mix. A colloidal suspension sounds like a good solution. Good luck on your search for a gun oil that meets your needs. Rick
  20. +1 The Royal and Tan came out looking great. Rick
  21. big-kahuna 15 degrees Fahrenheit? Holy moley! Fascinating. Is the oil that you're developing to be for cold weather use or year round use? How do you mix the ingredients? Mechanically (stir it up) or is a more complex process required? Rick
  22. Hmmm........... Maybe Royal Blue and tan to more closely match BEnos' tee shirts. The Royal Blue and Coyote Brown kinda clashes to my eye. Rick
