  1. Steve, I'm sure you've already been to: http://www.jointhealing.com/pages/knee/cho...tml?source=goto but just in case... Good Luck, Ed
  2. Why Kyle, I certainly do know Robert Wright, he lives about a 1/2 hour down the road. Two weeks ago our club bought several moving targets AND an activator, and you're right, it's cool! Tomorrow we have a practice and get to play with our new toys, I'll give you an up date. Here's the link. Ed
  3. Sig Lady, Pact Timer, the MKIV with sky screens bar and case that I ordered 16 days 9 hours and 2 minutes ago, is EXACTLY what I'm waiting for!!! I ordered it first and then ordered a bunch of other stuff from various sources, all of THAT stuff has been here for DAYS. I know I should be more patient, I know I should act grown up, but I can't and I won't I WON'T I WON'T I WON'T and you can't make me! I'm telling Mom... Ed
  4. JT, I looked at the Barrett long and hard and then bought the Ed Brown. I made the right choice! Ed
  5. Patrick, You are so right! There are few things in life as sweet as the sound of the UPS/FedEx truck pulling up and stopping! Conversely, few things leave that hollow in the pit of the stomach feeling as watching it roll by and it not even slow down… especially when you JUST KNOW they SHOULD have your stuff! AARRRRGGHHHH! Ed
  6. Dat ol’ Nantucket man, he be long down da road! He say “I’s goin’ wheres theys ain’t no rain, wheres I’s don’t need no’s lid an’ mys gun no rust no mo’. Brian, I think he’s going to Tempe, YOU can take his picture… I gave him your number. Ed
  7. That man, he has left Nantucket Carrying his prize in the bucket This time it’s well hid For he found him a lid His book, he won’t have to junk it! I know... WEAK. But it’s a really busy morning at work, or the dog ate my homework, or I had a flat tire… Oh hell, please just pick an excuse for my less than perfect form. Thanks everyone, Ed
  8. Damn! Where was this list when I needed it! I see at least 8 social gaffs that, at the time, I was unaware of. Why don't they teach this stuff in schools? Hell, I would've stuck around for ALL of the fifth grade if that was the case! Ed
  9. Steve, vluc, I agree with you both and I don’t think you’re ideas are really very far apart from each other. That said I’ve got my own personal “mantra” for lack of a better phrase “if you want to get ANYTHING done, work at it EVERY day”. This might be as little as five minutes or it could be 18 hours but it HAS TO be every day. Sooner or later “it” gets done, a sub second draw or an entirely new way for your company to do business, WORK at it EVERY day and you WILL get it done. Some of us aren’t blessed with talent so every achievement (no matter how small) is directly proportionate to the amount of effort we put into it. Ed
  10. Well Brian, It certainly wouldn't hurt MY feelings! But I've just got to say, I think Sig Lady's IS the best one. Either way this has been a blast! Thanks for all the fun. Ed PS If you decide to make it a 3 way (hmmm... note to self; be more careful with your choice of phrasing) A “blem” would be fine with me. I already have a copy and would give this one to my really cheap shooting buddy that so desperately needs it. Or do the three of us have to "share" one book?
  11. To add a little to DT’s fine advice; if you buy a new SDB the dies come setup, ready to run right out of the box! Being an experienced re-loader I “tweaked” the settings to my preferences but they’d have worked just fine the way they were. The exception is the powder measure THAT has to be setup to work with the powder/load you want to use. Buying from BE he (correctly) recommends a “first purchase” set of options but you don’t NEED a strong mount ($53-54) or a bullet tray ($30). I don’t use them and I get by just fine. You (we) can always add them later. Just go slow at first, UNDERSTAND each step before moving on to the next. An afternoon reading the book and a little “playing” with it will have you loading safe, high quality ammo in no time. If you get in a jam you can email me or come back to the forum, there’s always someone that’ll help.
  12. There was a man named Brian Who left all his scribes a cry’n’ When he wouldn’t say who Not a hint or a clue MAN, all of us here are just die’n’
  13. Gasp! If he had a beard and a single stack it would be as if I were looking in a mirror! Noooo.... Ed
  14. Every time I do that (usually with PARTIALLY full mags) I swear I will NEVER be that STOOPID again! And then 3-4 matches later... I guess I'm just a slow learner! Ed
  15. I've been eating mustard on my tuna (mixed with mayonnaise) sandwiches for years... but peanut butter, uh I don't think so. Thanks all the same. Ed
  16. My Dear Mr. Enos, Sir, You are both a CAD and a BOUNDER! Ed
  17. Amen Ron, My family's in North Central Montana... same sad story. Ed
  18. Not “topping off”, you take ANOTHER mag and insert it and strip the first round, then take THAT mag out and insert a fully loaded one giving you 11. Most guys put the mag that now has 9 in it in their back pocket so they don’t inadvertently reload with it during the stage. Ed
  19. Hmmm… soooo… it’s hard to say what’s the best approach here. Do we suck up? “Oh wise benevolent esteemed all knowing all seeing enlightened one, please share your decision with your adoring and unworthy scribes”. Do we get tough? “Okay Bucko, anybody that can make Grand Master and author a book AND run a business from home, ought to be able to make a decision as minor as this in 1 1/2 seconds FLAT! Or do we suffer in silence? TAP, TAP, TAP, TAP, TAP… It’s really hard to say… You know, NOBODY who knows me would EVER believe that I was in a POETRY contest… but then again, maybe (especially now) I’m not. Ed
  20. Eric’s right. One of the guys I practice with said that his son bought one (XD-40) and he was going to also. Now this is an otherwise normal L-10 shooter and for HIM to buy something that wasn’t designed by John M. Browning is, in it’s self quite an endorsement. The next practice after listening to several choruses of “XD’s are great XD’s are great,” I asked him if he brought it along. “Well haul that puppy out and we’ll see”. He did, and… XD’s are great XD’s are great! I can’t see myself getting rid of my 1911, but I just MIGHT buy one as a carry gun. Ed
  21. What Shred said and maybe check out… The first part of Matt Burkett’s “Practical Shooting Manual”, available here from our esteemed host, does a good job of telling you what to expect when you go to a match. Equipment, range commands, Etc. Find a local match and just go to watch, ESPECIALLY before you go out and spend a lot of money on equipment that you THINK you need (boy, do I wish I had done that). I think you’ll find the shooters to be helpful and free with their advice. Welcome aboard and Good Luck, Ed
  22. Scandog, Flex, Thanks for all of the GREAT information! Scandog, VERY clever. Unfortunately it comes about 3 weeks too late for us. We just went to R&R Racingand bought a BUNCH of stuff that we could have built ourselves. Oh well, we can always use MORE things. The only good thing is that R&R is only a half an hour down the road… no freight. Ed
  23. L2S, "Stupid pistol match..."? Humph... have you been watching me shoot? Ed
  24. Nolan, Apparently our very own Matt Burkett is now in the hosting business! Go to Matt's Site and check it out. Good Luck, Ed
  25. MIGHTY pretty there li’le lady! What brand of plated SWCs are you using? I REALLY wanted to use West Coast’s 200gr in my Kimber but couldn’t get them to run with 100% reliability, so after 700rds I gave up and went back to Laser Cast. Ed
