  1. I also bent the tip slightly on my C-Rums lifter in order to get it to feed. Works like new now with the Estate loads or anything else.
  2. I run the 53gr Vmax's at just over 3200 in a 18" barrel. The BC on the 53gr Vmax's is pretty impressive. Shoots flat and fast. Not that I am in the same league as Kurt, but they will make the MGM flashers work at distance, and spin the spinner easily.
  3. I got the same look last night setting up my ELS belt. She just kinda looked at me and asked if I could get anything else on the belt. Definitely looking forward to our first Ironman match! Just put extra ammo in your pants pocket Glen! Its a new game for the three of us coming from Precision Rifle matches for sure, but its alot of fun.
  4. STI 2011 5" Schuemann 180 MG HP Fed 100 5.0gr Titegroup 1.185 OAL 174pf
  5. XDMAN, It looks like on the stage designs, there are long range rifle bonus targets out to 900yds. Your rifle will work, might just take some extra windage is all.
  6. My thoughts also...I think I will just order another M2 in a 21" barrel and wait for it. My 24" is working just fine, but I would like to have a second one so I have a backup.
  7. I personally don't feel any difference between the 3 of them. My new M2 w/comfortech stock feels the same as my 1100CM and my brothers SLP. I have shot all of them quite a bit side by side, and if there is any difference, it doesn't feel like much. I did shoot an older M1 the other day, and it was a noticeable difference.
  8. The ELS 032 belt has the velcro reversed so it works with the CR inner according to Safariland. I should have mine next week to verify
  9. I believe the Safariland ELS outer will work with the CR or Double Alpha inner. Having spares around isn't a bad thing.
  10. Tom, The mandrel that came in my kit is the same way. It won't fit up into the 40 mags or my 38 Super mags. I need to call Dawson and ask them about it.
  11. +1 on Varget an 168-175gr bullets. 308's are not finicky to load for is the good thing. Pickup a loading manual and just about any load with Varget will shoot great.
  12. I don't know why FN doesn't offer this already. They make a 24" VR SLP replacement barrel, shouldn't be that hard to make a 22" also.
  13. Happy with my PST 1-4 so far. If I could change anything, I would make the reticle just a little larger. Not much, but a little more might help on the longer shots. I will be running it in it's first 3 gun match this weekend, so I will see how it works.
  14. We build precision rifles and use KG Gun Kote and Cerakote. I have come up with a little different way of curing the Gun Kote that makes it extremely durable and wear resistant. I have tried the Salt Nitride coatings, Melanite, and such on rifle builds, but really didn't see any improvement with them over the Gun Kote. They are supposed to stay on, but if you take steel wool and rub it, it comes right off. Keep in mind, this isn't the Gun Kote in the spray can that you buy from Brownells....this is applied with a paint gun and cured in an oven. It has held up well under some pretty extreme conditions for our customers, so we will see how it does on the pistols we build now.
  15. We do all of our Coatings in house....not real wild about the copper look, just not for me.
  16. I am running my open gun and limited gun both with just the rear spring. Both springs gave me some issues and had way to much tension. Talked with Derek and he suggested running one spring.....problem solved. Feeds perfectly, extracts perfectly.
  17. Just extra material is all, doesn't hurt the function at all. You can file it flush or leave it as is.
  18. We could most likely loan you one....(I'm sure we will go again in 2012), you are welcome to use one of ours. We build custom rifles and precision bolt guns are what we specialize in. I'm sure there will be 3 or 4 of them with us as usuall.
  19. Been very pleased with our 9mm Spartans. Had some issues with the MG 124 JHP's, but switching over to CMJ's has cured any feeding issues.
  20. +1 on the JP barrels. I have been happy with them so far. I do have Broughton making me some custom contours in AR barrel to chamber up here in the shop. Should be some interesting results.
  21. My brother and I compete together, so we generally build 2 of everything identical.
  22. Finally got everything in and built them up this weekend. It was an STI building frenzy....2 limited guns, open gun, and upgrading new Spartan 9mm's. Still waiting on Jesse's Tripp sight. Here is a pic of the weekend carnage. Now need to get them broken in and freed up....we fit them tight!
  23. We built and modified STI's! A few of them. Finally finished up my open gun. Still need to get it broken in, a little tight still. Built our 2 limited 40's. Jesse is still waiting on his Tripp sight. Trigger jobs, and refinish on our new Spartan 9mm's. It was a long weekend, but worth it. Here are the specs: Open Gun: STI Frame/Slide Trubore Barrel Aftec Koening Hammer, 1.75lb trigger Grip mod Gunkote finish with polished sides Ed Brown beavertail and safety EGW titanium strut and mainspring cap 17lb mainspring, 10lb recoil Flat top and internally lightened Alchinn Mount and C More 38 super comp chamber Limited Guns: STI Frame/Slide (custom serial numbers to match our long range rifles) Schuemann Bull Aftec Extreme Engineering hammer, sear, disconnector Ed Brown Beavertail and safety EGW Titanium strut and mainspring cap 17lb mainspring, 14lb recoil Gunkote finish STI Magwell 40 S&W
  24. Awesome....something we are familiar with....Rogue gets to play!
  25. Precision rifle? Is there a bolt gun stage?
