  1. Are the ranges easily accessible by car, more specifically a lowered sports car? Any rough terrain or non gravel roads? Want to see if I need to make alternate arrangements for vehicle.
  2. I just received and installed a 3gunstuff lever on mine, and getting used to it in preparation for Rockcastle. Great lever and Chris was great to deal with.
  3. Need to develop a stage like American Gladiators where someone shoots tennis balls or paintballs at the competitor, while they engage targets. Time penalties per hit!!
  4. Tac Optics Class Handguns must be of a factory configuration. I may be overthinking the rules, but what does this mean with respect to mag wells? I'm using a CZ shadow and currently have an added magwell. Is it good to go or should I be removing it?
  5. Thanks for the info. I'll be looking at all the bullet feeder options and people's success/failure with each. You don't happen to have any pics of your final solution with the Hornady feeder do you?
  6. Just picked up the press. RL1050 It is in great condition and I don't think I'll need to send it in for a refurb. Came with a couple sets of dies and shell plates, but no additional tool heads. I'm ok with that though as it did have a few extras, and the thing is good to go as is. Can't wait to get it all set up and start cranking out rounds. While I like my Hornady LNL, I think this press will help me save huge amounts of time. Now to look for a bullet feeder!
  7. Perfect. That's all I needed to hear. Thanks guys
  8. For all the 1050 experts, I'd like to ask for your advice. May have an opportunity to buy a used 1050 for what seems like a decent price. Press is about 10 years old from what I've been told. What should one look for when looking over a press this old, and particularly a 1050? Have there been advancements/refinements to the press design in the past 10 years to warrant passing on this deal? Haven't physically seen anything yet, but I think they are asking about $1000 for the press and 3 calibers worth of kit. (only one of which I'm actually currently reloading for so I'll probably try and sell the other two) In a worst case scenario, if I send the press to Dillon for a rebuild, what does a typical "freshening up" of a press cost? I know it would depend on many factors, but a rough estimate is all I'm looking for. Is this deal worth it? Thanks in advance Paul
  9. Awesome match. I can't thanks the RO's enough. 9 RO's covered 24 stages over 3 days!!!!!!! And yes, Chad, I didn't envy you or Katie on Sat running that long stage. Its awesome to hear that the proceeds of the shirts are going towards the Junior shooter gear. Thanks again to everyone and looking forward to next year's Paul from Canada.
  10. Just guessing but I would think short/medium/long course of fire is 75/100/125 points respectively. Probably based on round count. best time per stage gets 100% of the points and everyone else files in afterwards. Looking forward to my 12 hour drive tomorrow.
  11. This will be my first time at Rockcastle. Getting from stage to stage, do we have to cover long distance or are all the stages relatively close together? Is driving to stages an option? Trying to decide whether I need to bring a cart for my gear or if I can carry it all. 12 stages on Sat, in the heat, carrying all that lead, sounds like something I want to try and avoid if possible.
  12. picked up a Lancer last year at FNH. I really like it.
  13. Look like awesome stages. As far as birdshot is concerned, is there limitation to size? The rules only define number of pellets for buck.
  14. I've had no issues with it. Just at the tail end of using up about 10,000 cases I was given a while back. Load just fine on my Hornady LNL
  15. come on. Flying clays are easy. Just ask this guy

Yes, the thumbrest is a carver.
  17. Any updates by chance? Really looking forward to this match.
  18. wow. I'm guessing that isn't something you fix while on the clock. Never even imagined or considered a malfunction like that.
  19. Good to hear. I'll be working up my loads this week and would love to be able to use Fed SPP as I have quite a few of them, and for ignition reliability reasons. Still working on my trigger but I'm getting closer to the sub 2lbs mark Thanks for sharing your results.
  20. How do the Fed small pistol primers look with the major loads? if it isn't too much trouble, any way you could post a picture? No worries if its too much trouble.

Don't know if I would consider a thumb rest a gimmick. seems to work for many open shooters, who have spent more hours working on their grip than I care to imagine. I like it so for now I'm going to use it. Eventually when I develop a "proper grip" I'll consider removing it.

I don't see why not. drill and tap two holes and screw it on. would work on any flat surface
  23. I'm new to glocks (just bought my first) and up until now I thought they had the worst triggers I've ever felt. I worked over my trigger the other day and finally got it to the range today. It totally transformed the gun. I put in a ZEV race connecter and their spring kit, and then worked over all the components myself. Any surface that had the potential of contacting something had all machining marks removed and polished to a mirror finish. The trigger feels light. It is most likely around 3lbs, but the fact that there is no resistance and its so smooth, it feels much lighter. I may actually enjoy shooting a glock!

Good to hear. Its a nice pistol you have there. I'm hoping to have mine up and running in the near future. Just mocked up all the parts: Once my mill is back online, I'm going to make it look a little nicer. All the open pistols posted so far have really given me some inspiration. We'll see if it runs in the end!!
  25. Looks good to me. Well done.
