  1. Is there a way to lock out or reserve a number of slots on a squad in Practiscore? I like to have one squad that has a couple of seasoned ROs teamed up with any new shooters I have at a match, but the problem is when I or one of the other guys sign up for the match, those squads fill out quick because everyone wants to shoot with them. I'd like to lock about 5 slots on a squad so that it is not available--and then I can add the new shooters to it on match day. Is that possible? I see it in Practiscore for big matches where a portion of a squad or a few squads entirely are not available--for sponsored shooters or ROs, so I think it can be done--I just don't know how. Thanks
  2. Is the match full? There are a bunch of open slots in Practiscore, but when I signed up I got waitlisted. Fingers crossed!
  3. Thanks for the stage diagrams! Will there be a range we can check zeros on our rifles?
  4. If anyone needs a place to crash, I have a room with a spare queen bed at the Americas Best Value Inn in Eldon. My wife tells me I only snore a little bit.
  5. I had a pretty negative experience with the ones I bought (30 or so for an agency) that I spent plenty of time on AR15.com discussing, but I feel like it was a 'gen 1' issue that is likely resolved, as I have not heard of too many other people having the same problems. But at the end of the day, I couldn't get past the image shift and slight magnification--I just couldn't shoot it with both eyes open. And that's an issue that many are having with it. But I really liked the FOV and size. I did find that mounting the optic as close to my eye as possible (as recommended by Trijicon) lessened the effects of distortion.
  6. On the info page on the match website, it mentions the possibility of a shotgun side-match. Is this still in the works/possible? Thanks
  7. I have no idea about this year, but the last couple years there was some kind of food truck, but next to nothing as far as gun related vendors. MGM, maybe--that was about it.
  8. Ah, I see. So an ON/OFF means that group starts on stage in the morning, and the OFF/ON group 'starts' on their break. Thank you!
  9. This will show you the squads. If you are looking for "your" page, you gotta find the email with the link... https://practiscore.com/2016-multi-gun-nationals/squadding Thanks. I don't know why I can't find that page anywhere. I've looked back in my e-mail, on the Practiscore site, the USPSA site--nothing. Oh well--thanks again. Does anyone know what the ON/OFF part of the schedule means? Each group has a AM/PM or PM/AM schedule, and then there is an ON/OFF and OFF/ON for the third day. What does that mean?
  10. OK, it's probably just because I'm dumb, but I can no longer find a link to the squads on Practiscore. Can anyone help me out?
  11. Thanks for the advice. I'm trying a MicroMoa 16" rifle length gas system barrel, so I will probably forgo the adjustable gas block for now. I may try one, but from what I have read, that barrel would probably need an adjustable block run nearly wide open with light-ish ammo so I'm not sure it's worth the extra hassle. We will see though. I didn't want to go too crazy with this, so I figured the Colt carrier would be a good baby step. In the same idea of not getting too crazy, I will probably use a standard, non-H buffer (3oz) and light spring for the rest of it. I guess the theme here would be 'mild.'
  12. So I was digging through my parts box and I found an old Colt semi auto 'C' carrier--the ones that are not full circle on the buffer-contact area. Poking around on the interwebs indicates that this carrier weighs about 8.7 oz. Now I know that it's no JP, but it's an once or so lighter than the full auto carrier I'm using now. Anything wrong with the old carriers? Any reason not to use it? Would one ounce make any difference at all? I'll find out when I can make it to the range next week.
  13. Am I imagining things? I thought I recall seeing a Versa Max shotgun match at South River (Atlanta) in early 2016. Now I don't see any mention of it. I shot it last year and was looking forward to it this year. I think I must have just imagined the match announcement.
  14. Well, I got my PA 1-8 scope in today. I don't have it mounted yet, but my reaction to it so far is...warm, I guess. I ordered the BDC model, but received the Mil version--which is fine. It may turn out to be more versatile in the end. Comparing it directly to my Razor, I would say that on 1x, the Razor has it beat as far as flatness, lack of distortion / fisheye, and dot. Also the PA has a noticeable yellow tint to the glass at 1x--although that could be an affect caused by fluorescent lights indoors--I'll report back after it's mounted and I get some rounds through it. That being said, there is nothing wrong with the PA on 1x--it's far better than a lot of other 6x and even 4x scopes that I've had or used. At full magnification, I actually feel like the PA looks better--the glass is really clear all the way out to the edges, and it looks better on 8x than it does on 1x. I had a hard time seeing any difference in the magnification between the Razor at 6x and the PA at 8x. I know there is a difference, but I couldn't see it looking at 10" plates at 400 yards. I did look at a stop sign at what I guesstimate at 800 to 900 yards, and I could clearly read the 'STOP' on the sign with the PA, and that same sign was barely readable with the Razor. So there is a difference, but it's hard to see. What was different is the 'forgiving-ness' of the eye-box. The eye-box on the PA at 8x is very unforgiving compared to the Razor. The busyness of the Mil reticle leaves me longing for a JM-1 type reticle, but enough people have told me that a Mil reticle is better, that I figured I'd give it a shot. All in all, I'm not getting rid of my Vortex Razors just yet. I'll report back after I get some rounds down range. Oh, and, holy crap this thing is heavy!
  15. What do you think is the better reticle for 3gun, the BDC or the mil?
  16. I see they have a BDC reticle, but it doesn't mention for what load. Anyone have any idea?
  17. Well damn you all. A black Friday deal that couldn't be passed up on means that in a couple of weeks I'll be able to give you all a side by side comparison of the Cmore and the vortex.
  18. FWIW, I called CMore to ask about the warranty. They advised that it has a limited lifetime warranty, and that the glass is from Japan.
  19. Any other cheap bastards out there want to share a hotel room? I only snore a little.
  20. I see plenty who advertise the work specifically for Ms, but I'm having a hard time finding someone who lists the 1301 on their website. Any suggestions?
  21. Well I certainly won't talk you out of it. I used the scope again at Fallen Brethren in Texas, a very rifle heavy match. I want to sell my Swaro and buy another C-More. I finished 2nd out of 228, had no problems with any of the many rifle targets, all the way out to 600 yards. The BDC doesn't line up perfectly with my 69 grain load, but with Strelok it doesn't matter. Memorize holds, pull trigger, targets get hit. Do you think it compares favorably to a Razor JM? That's about the only base-line I have to be able to compare anything to. Thanks
  22. Man, I really want to try this scope, but there just aren't that many reviews on it. I contacted C-More to ask about the warranty on it, as I didn't see any mention of it, and they stated that it has a limited lifetime warranty. Lifetime warranty, optics from Japan...Should be a nice scope. Quick, someone talk me into it!
