  1. What browser are you using? It's working fine for me in Safari, Firefox and Chrome - all latest releases. I've double checked the file itself on the server as well and it's fine too. Not sure what's causing the issue for you. Will it display onscreen if you just click the link? It's supposed to open in its own window. You will need Acrobat Reader to view the PDF file so you might want to head over to adobe.com and dl the latest version too. firefox and it opens up Acorbat reader as PDF but just stays blank page.I will try again and see what happens . Thanks for the info The link is incorrect; here is the correct link: http://www.gastatechampionships.com/img/2011/2011GAStateEntry.pdf
  2. Thanks everyone! Im working up a new load this weekend and Ill see what I get!
  3. Just chrono'ed the following load out of an STI Edge with a new Ultimatch barrel in it: 4.8 Grains Titegroup 1.20 COAL Remington SPP 180 GR Zero Bullets The most I could get was 163.9 PF. Its about 86 degrees outside. Should I back down the length or increase the charge? Thanks!
  4. Thanks to a great group of guys! Blake had an awesome time shooting with you all.
  5. Can someone get from stage to stage in a car? I know we are allowed to drive to each stage, but I'm asking if the conditions will allow a car, rather than a truck or SUV, to be used. We only have a car and Id like to spare the $300 bucks it takes to rent an SUV if I can, but Ill spend if the range conditions merit such! BTW...In lieu of any 'if it rains' answers, I'm planning on renting one anyway if the forecast calls for it! I just want to know if it can be done dry.. Thanks in advance! Ben
  6. sweet! Great screen name! Ozzy's best days!

  7. There are three that are fairly close to you. One is in Pearlington, MS and is held on the 3rd Sunday monthly, one in Poplarville, MS (smsps.com) (just down the interstate)on the 2nd Sunday and the other is Byram, MS on the first Sunday of each month (teammagnolia.com). Ill get you some links as soon as I find them! PM me when you get in and I can get you oriented!
  8. How does the fixed time on stage 4 work? Is that par time of 8 seconds per string or the total for both? How are misses factored in? Thanks!
  9. There was a local gun range where we could ship it last year. Check the nationals website for 2009 and see if its still listed. Great group of folks!
  10. Hartsfield-Jackson is the Atlanta airport and there are many hotels close to the range. You can find more information at: http://uspsa-area6.org/2010a6info.pdf
  11. My Dillon 550 has started giving me trouble. I've used Titegroup, HS-6 and 7625 in it and now the powder charge is varying for each round by as much as .4 grains. I've switch over to the large powder bar and I'm still having the same issue. Any suggestions?
  12. Many thanks to the great folks at DTC for a great match! I enjoyed watching everyone shoot in such harsh conditions. Now on to the wheelchair repairs I need to make from Blake dragging me through the mud! Ah...memories..
  13. Not only am I sure they are grahams, but I have removed the springs/followers from my open 140mm mags (also grahams) and I still have the same issue.
  14. I went back and took the mags apart and I was wrong...they are already 11 coil springs. We tried once again and there is no way we can get more than 15 rounds in them.
  15. Sorry I should have been more specific. The mags already have Dawson Base Pads, Grahams Springs and Followers, but they are 13 coil springs. Can they be cut? It is a STI Edge .40. Thanks
  16. My son has a STI Edge and regardless of what we do we cant get more than 16 rounds in any of the three 140mm magazines. We changed springs, followers, etc. Has anyone else had this issue or are we just doing something extremely wrong? Any advice is appreciated!
  17. John, When will applications be up? can we pick one up this weekend?
  18. If its like most states the cops cant write parking tickets on private property...been told this many times over the years...by cops we called. Edit...the building owner has to call the cops...then the ticket can be issued...try making this happen at Wal-Mart or the mall....
  19. I agree with this statement. Obviously safety comes first, but this is no different than any other stage instruction. We mostly have no problem staying within the fault lines, shooting targets in the correct order, etc... This should be part of every shooters stage plan and practice. If you practice putting the weapon on safe when moving, taking your finger off the trigger and clearing a weapon it becomes muscle memory just like a reload or draw. Plus the added benefit of preventing a ND or DQ. +1 Anyone can spend an extra 0.5s to put down the gun so that it wont slide, or bump the safety off. If you just throw your gun into the grounding box, yes, the safety might come off. I've also seen shooters get DQ'd when trying to empty their guns on the clock, so I dont think that either method is any better/safer than the other one. It's up to the shooter to ground their firearm in a safe way and if the grounding box is constructed in a way that makes you nervous about your gun sliding around, or the safety getting bumped, you just have to spend the extra time to make sure you do it in a safe way. What if you take the extra time to be careful and after two of the range staff pick up and handle your gun they inform you your safety was off and you are DQ'ed? though you didn't get to see it before they handled it? guess you had to be there I'm not too fond of being told my gun was not safe without being able to visually inspect its resting condition after I left it and before it was handled by someone else. Especially if I were to take the extra time to knowingly engage a safety. I also disagree with a total match DQ for such. If the gun is to be grounded and not create a detriment of safety to anyone.....whats the purpose of a match DQ? Its grounded in a box and in a safe direction. If an RO or anyone else for that matter walk up and see a gun not on safe or cannot see the safety. Put the burden on the shooter to show a safe weapon. Once its touched by someone other than the shooter.....the chance to remove all doubt is gone. It sucks knowing you were shooting the match of your life only to know it was ended by possibly the fault of someone else. Here is where it gets interesting....what if your gun has a thumb and a palm safety such as a 2011? Would the gun not be 'safe' if the thumb safety had been knocked off, but the obvious palm safety is still active (being safer than guns without one)? In Blake's case the RO saw him engage the thumb safety during the course of fire before placing his gun in the box (and told the MD such), but he was still DQ'd even though the palm safety is operable on his 2011 and his thumb safety knocked off by the bottom of the box. After he finished the entire course of fire and was at the gun table with his AR he was called over to inspect his 2011 and told about the DQ so we don't know if the gun was handled before this time. Hell we were just happy he finished a course of fire in the dark after falling once (without a gun) and being led said course by flashlight! He learned a good lesson (just wish it wouldn't have been in this match) - to take the time to clear the weapon completely should this situation come up again...or maybe we could see a rule revision (calling for a complete unload of any pistol) or different stage designs where your pistol is last in the course of fire....just my .02..
  20. We'll be there! Cant wait! I'm unrolling my long underwear this week..
  21. Basically, the first day ran a little long so his squad (8) was asked to shoot the second morning before the match began. He had to run the stage by flashlight because the sun hadn't come up yet (the light in the video is lighting from the another bay). After he finished the RO told him he saw him engage his safety on his Edge before putting it in the box, but it was apparently disengaged by the bottom of the box and he was DQ'd. Apparently this very thing happened a lot last year and foam was added to the bottom of the box to prevent it, but that wasn't done this year. No worries here though! Rules are rules and he had a great time at the match. Thanks to all of the AMU and volunteers that added to its success! We left early so we could save some travel money for next year!
  22. Somebody help the newbie out here! On the stage 2 description it says: Your points for this stage will not be factored for this stage, whatever targets you neutralize will be your score. What does this mean exactly? Thanks!
