  1. As has been stated if you want to save $$, go with a Chrony. It will do wha t you need, accurate and tough. How tough?? Several major rounds impact tough..!!! How do I know, See below.... Yes it still works, yes it is still as accurate as my CED.... This is now a loaner
  2. That would punch the hand pretty good....
  3. Pretty good chance I'll win Revo Division this weekend here also.!! Snow pack, cold, windy, , yeah, I'll be the only on there!!
  4. I started with a nice set of grips with checkering and finger grooves I liked but switched to smooth Big Butt.. Decided I like the old grips better but with Lardgebhands the butt helped so I cut off and mounted to the original grips.. Now I have what I want/like ... Houge will do a custom set for you so you wouldn't have to cut 2 up!!! LOL....
  5. Mine was an early manufacture date and while I used it in a few matches it had to go back to S&W for 6 months to correct issues. Pretty much went in the safe after that. Ran .355 before it became common knowledge S&W fooled us!!! Actually, it runs the .355's fine and with Blue's I never saw leading issues.
  6. Sounds to me you have bullet backing out.. Did you notice when you finally got the cylinder open one of the bullets nose having a ding mark where it contacted breech?
  7. I had been running .355". Slugged my barrel @ .3575 as well as my cylinders measuring same. Just ordered .358" 160gr Bayou's to give a try as many others have suggested.
  8. U- die. Stick with 1 manufacturers brass only.. Mine loves Winchester with the moons I use....
  9. You run exact load I did with no issues at all, Winchester brass only. Are these .355 Blue's or .358?? Any chance your Bullets are pulling out of the case at all after the first shot? If you load into cylinder and the try to eject without firing a round do they eject OK?
  10. Not like there aren't straight lines to line it up with!!! Probably how mine would turn out
  11. I think you would be fine with a hacksaw. Leave about .100" of the nub left and take rest down with a good quality file to get flat. Crowning is easy with the right tool..
  12. Yes, just the nub. I don’t have the guts yet to bring it down to 5” or as short as you did!!! This was practice!!
  13. This is the correct answer!!. I run the same set up with 147gr Blue RN with no issue with bullet creeping outdo case. Best way to test is load up 8, fire 7 and pull/inspect #8. You should see no bullet creep..
  14. Thanks.. It was the original bolt shortened and the head turned down to fit into the existing hole, which I bored for a deeper recess. Left just enough of the socket to get it installed then filed flat.. Red lock tite..
  15. Thanks to ysrracer for the incentive to start hacking on my 929.. The finished product, maybe...
  16. I've used well used glass bead to refinish mine in the past with good results duplicating the finish. Some hand buffing afterwards gets it damn close.. Maybe it was blasted with to course a finish?? Do you have pics?
  17. If carry Optics remained 10rnds then an 8 shot Revo would have been a good fit there.. I ran A few steel matches with an optic on my 929 and it was a hell of allot of fun and fairly competitive.. Unfortunatly, my eyes just need a dot now.....
  18. I moved from a Dillon 550 to a 650 and figured I'd be happy with just not having to turn the turret. Well, then went on the casefeeder for a few years which was fine for the amount I load, then eventually got tired of having to place the bullet so on went on the Mr. bullet feeder. Worth every damn penny. So now, loading up the primer tubes is the time consuming portion and I just load up 4 tubes ahead of time and then it's 45min of just pulling the handle and keeping the feeders full.!!
  19. You could. I milled off till it left a slight crown but decided it would look better flat so took that off with file.
  20. That's the plan but you'll note there is a slight chamfer on the opening before the threads start, I have to mill one up that will leave enough to fill the void. Plan to angle the lug back a little also....
  21. You guys inspired me.. That stupid nub is gone!!! Just waiting for the 11deg chamfer tool to come in...
  22. I've been tempted more than once to get rid of the "nub" and taper back the bottom lug but just haven't wanted to risk ruining the crown. Is it very difficult to do it right??
  23. I run 147gr RN Blue's in Win brass with no issues at all.. Cylinder has been chamfered some but that just makes it even easier.....
